"Wh-what!? … Monster! …" the boy snarled in shock.
His frantic eyes darted all about to find the beast who owned that threatening tail. He had to find it, or he would be the next to die!
Then… the boy noticed something different about his own body, and his mad search for the monstrous lizard was swiftly paused.
From that angle, the boy could barely see his bare chest. That gave him just wide enough of a perspective to spot the indigo scales coating his neck, which shrunk and faded into the human skin of the boy's torso.
"Wh-what… AM I?!!"
That hissing roar startled the boy further!
It was the first time the boy had connected those inhumanly low tones and all of that hissing with his own voice.
*Impossible! IMPOSSIBLE!!* the boy yelled within the safety of his mind. He didn't want to hear how drastically low his boyish voice had become. *What has happened?! Where am I… WHAT am I!!?*
