Chapter 5 - fishing

As the village started to wake up, the sound of people going about their daily routines filled the air. There were a group of women gathering herbs and fruits from the forest, some men were carrying wooden logs to build a new house, The hunters set out to hunt for food, Some of the women headed towards the river to fetch water. There were also groups of people working on various crafts such as weaving and pottery.

One of the hunters, a tall, muscular man with a bow and arrow slung over his shoulder, walked by my house on his way to the forest. He nodded at me in greeting and continued on his way.

In the distance, I could hear the sound of children playing and laughing as they chased each other through the village. They were dressed in simple clothes made from animal hides, and their hair was long and unkempt.

Further down the village, I saw a group of men and women gathered around a large fire, preparing food for the day. They were using primitive tools to cut meat and vegetables, and the smell of the food was making my mouth water. I know from my body's memory that not everyone has a fire place in there home. Only the best hunter and powerful people has them inside there home. Everyone else cook outside on the central fire pit.

As I continued to observe, I noticed a group of elders sitting together, discussing important matters. They were dressed in clothes made from best quality far, they are in most demand, this is kind of symbol of authority and power and their faces showed a deep sense of wisdom and experience.

As the sun started to rise higher in the sky, the sounds of the village grew louder and more vibrant. It was a beautiful and peaceful sight to behold, full of energy and life. As I observed all this, I couldn't help but marvel at the harmony and order of the village. Despite the challenges of living in the wilderness, these people had created a functioning community where everyone had a role to play. As I watched the villagers go about their daily lives, I felt a sense of belonging , I felt like I was a part of this community. I wondered what my role was in this village and what I could contribute to it. But for now, I was content to sit there and soak in the beauty and simplicity of this place.

I came near the fire place and sit down near it. There is still amber present so although less it was still emitting heat. I tried to move my body around and there is no discomfort like yesterday so tried to remove the bandage. As I removed the bandage, I noticed that some of the wounds were still oozing blood, but they were not as severe as they were before. I carefully examined them and noticed that the man who treated me had done a remarkable job in healing them. I felt a sense of gratitude towards him, and I wanted to thank him for his kindness.

As I sat there near the fire, I noticed that my body was more agile than before. The wounds may not have fully healed, but my body felt stronger and more energetic. I wondered if this was the effect of the food and the herbs that the man had given me. Perhaps, there was something magical about them that helped to heal my wounds and rejuvenate my body.

As I looked around the room, I noticed that the man had left a pile of bandages and ointments near the fire. I picked them up and started to reapply the ointment to my wounds. The ointment had a cooling effect and felt soothing on my skin.

I sat there for a while, lost in my thoughts, until I heard a noise coming from outside. I stood up and walked to the door to investigate. As I opened the door, I was greeted by a group of children playing a game. They looked up at me and smiled, and I couldn't help but smile back.

As I looked around the room, I noticed that it was still a bit bare and lacked some essential items. That's when I decided that I should start exploring the village and try to gather more information about this place. I felt motivated to learn more about the culture and customs of the people living here. Although I have the memory but experiencing it first hand is totally different it's the same as watching cooking videos online and cooking yourself.

With a sense of purpose, I quickly got dressed and headed out into the village. As I walked around, I noticed that the villagers were all busy with their daily tasks, but still managed to greed me with warm smiles and friendly nods.

I approached a group of villagers who were gathered near a stream, washing clothes and chatting with each other. They welcomed me with warmth.

Feeling more comfortable and confident, I continued my exploration of the village, stopping by different people. I even helped some of them with their work, carrying heavy loads or offering to lend a hand. I had my lunch from the food given by the villagers.

As the day progressed, I felt a sense of fulfilment and accomplishment. Not only had I learned a great deal about this place, but I had also made some new friends and contributed to the community. I returned to my room that evening, tired but happy, ready to continue my journey of discovery in this magical village. Just like this way my second day in this world came to an end.

I woke up next morning, the sun was shining brightly and the birds were chirping outside. I felt refreshed and ready to start my day. I looked around the room and decided to make a fishing rod, as yesterday I saw a lot of fish in the near by stream and it would be a useful skill to have in this new world.

When I was walking around and helping people I learn that no one know how to use fishing rod to fish in this world. Most of the fish they caught is at summer time when the stream water level drop and fish gets stuck in small water bodies, then the villagers use hand or spears to catch fish.

I went outside and started to work on the fishing line. I started by looking for materials that could be used to make a fishing rod. I found a sturdy branch and started to carve it into a suitable shape. I searched for a fishing line, but there was none in the room. So, I decided to make one from scratch. I remembered seeing some fibers in the woods nearby that could be useful. I made my way to the woods and collected some thin fibers from a nearby plant. I then braided them together to make a strong fishing line. It took some time and patience, but eventually, I was able to make a fishing line that seemed sturdy enough to catch a fish.

The process was tedious, but it was worth it in the end. As I came to a very important conclusion that I don't know how to hunt and even my body's previous owner was also a bad hunter. So in short I need to master the art of fishing or otherwise I will most probably die while hunting in the forest. And fishing is much safer then hunting large animals.

I made a fish hook from bones and With that my fishing rod and line complete, I went to the stream where the villagers were washing clothes. I found a suitable spot and started to assemble the fishing rod. I attached the fishing line to the rod, and then the small hook that I could use to catch fish. I sat down and cast my line into the water, waiting patiently for a fish to take the bait. I used some meat as bait. I could hear the sound of the stream flowing. I felt a sense of peace and calmness as I waited for a fish to bite

As I sat there, I heard the sound of water flowing and birds chirping in the background. It was a peaceful moment, and I felt grateful to be alive and able to enjoy such a beautiful scenery.

Finally, I felt a tug on my line, and I quickly pulled it in. To my delight, there was a fish on the hook! I was proud of myself for making my own fishing rod and line, and for catching my own food. I felt a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

As I packed up my fishing gear and headed back to the village, I felt a renewed sense of purpose and hope. I knew that I had a lot to learn and discover in this new world, but for now, I was content with the simple pleasures of catching my own food and enjoying the beauty of nature.
