Chapter 256 - Help Me Catherine!

BUZZ!

BUZZ!

A message had just entered Catherine's watch. Catherine didn't bother looking at it or who sent it. Catherine was on her bed and was a little sleepy. Her roommate; Lillian wasn't in the room currently.

Lillian have been depressed since Emily's sudden disappearance. Catherine had tried her best to confront her. But it wasn't her thing, she wasn't good at it and Lillian wasn't in the mood to get comforted. She just wanted to see Emily again.

Catherine's hostel room was small, but cozy. The walls were a soft pink, and the furniture was simple but comfortable. A twin bed sat against one wall, a desk and chair were positioned against another, and a small bookshelf sat in the corner. A single window looked out onto the campus quad, and the curtains were drawn back to let in the early evening light.

Despite the simplicity of the room, Catherine had made it her own. The bookshelf was filled with a mix of classic novels, self-help books, and romance stories.

Another message notification entered her watch. Out of frustration, she then decided to look at it. The message was from Miller. A broad smile appeared on her face.

[Catherine, I need your help. Can we meet]

[Help Me Catherine! I need help]

Those were the messages and for a second. She didn't understand why Miller would send her this message.

Moments later, Catherine had met Miller alone in the School Garden area. She didn't like the fact that Miller had told Watson and Alex her secret. But she was still relieved that Alex and Watson didn't know anything about her being a Dhampir.

"I feel like giving you a punch for what you did, but that would be after." Catherine said. "So why did you call me and what did my help for."

"Remember when I told you that I am a User, bound to an AI." Miller said.

"Let me guess, you need my help to hack a top secret military facility or something else equally as impossible." Catherine said sarcastically. "And if i fail, you will cut off my head or something like that."

"Catherine." Miller said with a sigh. "This is serious. I really need your help."

Catherine gave him a small smile. "I'm just messing with you." She said. "I'm all ears."

"Thanks," Miller said. "I appreciate it."

Miller then went to explain to her about his Killer Mode and how it could put everyone at risk.

"Why don't you just make the Kill." Catherine said. "It would be better than for you to turn into a monster that wants to Kill."

"It is not that simple." Miller said. "I can't take a life."

'Fool.' Catherine Thought as she chuckled.

"Don't you think it is better you kill someone than for you to turn into that monster..." Catherine wasn't able to finish her sentence because Miller snapped.

"Why would I do that." Miller snapped. "If you enjoy killing others I don't!." Miller shouted the last sentence.

[HP: -10]

[HP: 150/256,000]

As Miller spoke, he felt a strange tingling sensation in his legs, and his knees began to tremble. He tried to ignore it, but the feeling grew stronger and stronger, and he felt himself starting to lose his balance.

"Hey, are you okay?" Catherine asked, looking at him with concern.

'It's my Health Points. They have reduced drastically and now I am feeling weaker than ever.' Miller thought and it was actually the truth. His HP was decreasing drastically. At this state, he wouldn't even be able to make a Kill.

Miller tried to speak, but his words came out in a jumble. He felt a wave of panic wash over him as he realized that he was about to collapse.

"Miller!" Catherine exclaimed, rushing forward to catch him.

"What's happening?" Catherine said, looking worriedly at Miller. "Can you hear me? What's wrong?"

Miller struggled to speak, his words coming out in a hoarse, raspy voice. "Something... not right... my body..." he managed to say.

"Oh God, I need to take you to the clinic." Catherine said.

Miller reached out and grabbed her arm, stopping her. "No... no need... not an... emergency..." he panted, trying to catch his breath.

"It's my Killer Mode. It's approaching, i am getting weaker and weaker." Miller said. "Call Jacob, Williams and Alex. It's time."

Catherine's mind raced as she processed what Miller had said. She knew about the Killer Mode, the fearsome and unpredictable state that Miller is about to experience. She knew that it was dangerous, and that it could lead to terrible consequences. She couldn't let that happen to Miller.

She took out her wristwatch and began to frantically type on the tiny keyboard. "Calling Williams and Alex... they'll know what to do..." she said, her voice shaking. "Just hold on, Miller. I'm going to get you the help you need."
