Chapter 146 - A Breaking Bond

It was the next day and Miller had told Watson another lie. He told Watson that he had recovered his memories unknown to him in a way he couldn't explain.

While the real truth was that Miller got notification from the System earlier:

[DO YOU WANT TO REGAIN ALL YOUR ENTIRE MEMORY FROM THE DAY YOU WERE BORN?]

[YES] [NO]

Miller didn't hesitate to say Yes and when he did, he could remember everything about himself. This made Miller thankful for the System inside his brain. It seems like the System provided him with more advantages than he could have imagined.

Miller still remained the same, he decided to keep thing from Watson. Although, the System had told him that it wasn't necessary, he still felt like he needed to keep Watson in the dark so that he could protect him.

Miller knew Watson was a very curious person and if he told Watson that Werewolves were in the School. Watson would go on a Research to find out the truth, and if Watson finds out the truth. The pack might likely kill him. Miller didn't want anything bad to happen to his friend.

As Miller walked through the corridors of the school, he noticed a strange tension among the students. Whispers and hushed conversations floated through the air, hinting at the fear and uncertainty that gripped their hearts. The recent attacks during the full moon had left an indelible mark on their collective consciousness.

Miller first thought was that maybe the Werewolves were the ones attacking the School during full moon. But he remembered Sophie informing him that there previous LOKI LUPIN were Vampires who did the jobs perfectly and currently something happened to the Vampires that wiped them all out of the School.

Fort Valor Military Academy had not started lecturers fully because they were still waiting for the Batch B Students to arrive. So there was enough time for Miller to do whatever he wanted to do.

Watson on the other hand gave his friend some distance, he knew Miller had a secret and Miller didn't want to tell him. Currently, Watson actually preferred the previous Miller that lost his Memory over this one.

Miller on the other hand could see Watson's attitude towards him, he knew that Watson knew he wasn't telling the truth, but he pretended like he knew nothing.

The secret Miller Edward bore was like a shadow that cast a growing chasm between him and his best friend, Watson. What had once been an unbreakable bond forged through shared laughter and countless adventures now quivered under the weight of withheld truths.

Miller could feel the strain in their interactions, the subtle shifts in Watson's gaze, and the unspoken questions that hung heavy in the air. The once vibrant connection they shared now seemed fragile, fragile like a delicate glass sculpture teetering on the edge of a precipice.

Miller starting walking towards the school's library. He needed a moment of solitude, a respite from the masks he wore and the secrets he guarded.

Entering the quiet haven of knowledge, Miller navigated through the rows of bookshelves, his fingertips grazing the spines of countless stories. The scent of aged paper and ink filled the air, enveloping him in a comforting embrace.

Finding a secluded corner, Miller settled into a worn leather armchair, his mind adrift in contemplation of his role as a LOKI LUPIN. The weight of becoming a perfect LOKI LUPIN for a Werewolf pack. Miller knew that if he wasn't a Strong LOKI LUPIN, many students in this school would likely get injured or killed by the Werewolves on the day of the Full Moon.

For once, Miller wanted the System to grant him a Quest so that he can become stronger, but he had waited for some time and it didn't. it was like the System was dead. So he decided to talk to the System himself.

"Why haven't you given me any quest to fulfil?" Miller asked the System.

"The Quest i can grant you only depends on the circumstances and your overall interest" The System replied.

Miller leaned back in the armchair, frustration etched on his face. "But I need a Quest, System. I need a way to become stronger and protect those around me. The Werewolf threat is looming, and I can't stand idly by."

The System remained silent for a moment before responding, its voice carrying a note of empathy. "I understand your concerns, Miller. The absence of a specific quest does not mean you are powerless. Remember, strength is not solely determined by external tasks, but also by inner growth and self-improvement."

Miller's brow furrowed as he contemplated the System's words. "So, you're saying I need to focus on myself and develop my skills further?"

The System's voice confirmed his thoughts. "Indeed. The path to true strength lies in honing your abilities, expanding your knowledge, and understanding the depths of your own potential. Seek out opportunities to train, to learn, and to push your limits. In doing so, you will become better equipped to face the challenges that lie ahead."

Miller nodded, a glimmer of determination in his eyes. "I won't wait for a quest to come to me. I'll take matters into my own hands and become the best LOKI LUPIN I can be. If the System won't guide me, I'll forge my own path."

The System's response was filled with encouragement. "That is the spirit, Miller. Trust in your instincts, embrace your inner power, and let your will to protect guide you. Remember, you are not alone. I am here to support you, even if it means granting quests outside of the traditional framework."

A spark of hope ignited within Miller, bolstered by the System's assurance. He realized that he possessed the agency to shape his own destiny, to navigate the intricate web of challenges before him. Though the secrecy strained his friendship with Watson, Miller knew he had to protect his friend from the dangers that lurked within the school.

Leaving the library with renewed determination, Miller knew he would face many obstacles on his journey. But he was ready to embrace the unknown, to unlock his full potential, and to confront the secrets that lay hidden within Fort Valor Military Academy.

As he stepped into the hallway, the weight of the secret he carried felt both heavy and necessary. The path ahead may be fraught with difficulties, but Miller was prepared to face them head-on, for the sake of his friend and all those who depended on him.

With resolute steps, Miller walked towards his next destination, a fiery determination burning in his heart. The stage was set for his transformation, and the secrets that bound him would soon be revealed. The impending full moon's approach echoed in his mind, a reminder of the challenge that awaited him.

The secret Miller Edward bore was creating a gap in their friendship, but it also ignited a fierce determination within him. The bond he shared with Watson may be strained, but Miller believed that, in time, the truth would come to light, and their friendship would emerge stronger than ever.

Little did Miller know that his journey to uncover the mysteries of his own existence would bring him face to face with an ancient prophecy, one that held the key to the survival of not only himself but also the entire Werewolf pack within Fort Valor Military Academy.
