Chapter 138 - Moon's Fury

Weeks later, they still continued the war with the Persians. King Leonidas was really happy that he had been healed by the Egyptian god, Wepwawet.

But he would never forget the condition, that was given to him, that in every full Moon. He must turn into a Monster.

King Leonidas noticed so many things about himself after he received healing from the Egyptian god Wepwawet, he was now more agile, his strength increased, his hearing and he could even see clearly at night, and somehow he could heal very fast than what an average human could.

King Leonidas was afraid because the Full Moon would soon be coming up. Which meant he would soon have to pay the price for the healing he had received from the god, Wepwawet. This would tell if that's a blessing or not?

According to the Wise men in his country, today would be the day the full moon would appear.

Hearing that sort of information, the first thing, the King did was to take his wife and children out of Greece to a place where he certainly knew they would be safe.

Apart from those closest to the King, no one else knew of the Moon's Fury that would befall him this night.

King Leonidas scared of what he would become this night told his guards to lock him inside his bedroom. If he turned into an aggressive and uncontrollable master that cannot be tamed. He commanded that they shouldn't hesitate to kill him.

King Leonidas mind was not at rest, he was scared of what he would become. Would he become a Monster that would destroy his own country with his bare hands? What has he done? Why did he have to bargain with the Gods like that? Why didn't he just let him die from the Sickness?

Would there be any benefits of being this Monster? If he turns to this Monster, would he change back to normal?.

So many thoughts raced through his mind, he couldn't find peace of mind.

King Leonidas was the only one in the locked room and he was currently talking to himself. If there was a way for him to escape this, he wouldn't think twice to do it.

The pleasure he had received after the healing came with super strength, super agility, night vision, super hearing and all others all came with a price and that price was that on every full moon, all the days of his life, he would have to lock himself in a room, because he would turn into a ferocious Monster.

He would be like a predator looking for its prey every full moon.

He was really scared, he didn't know what he had become or what he would become.

Still deep in thought, the sound of the doors opening could be heard. He looked at who opened the door and then he saw his closest servant, Dienekes and some other trusted colleagues.

"Master, here you go have some water to drink," Dienekes said.

As King Leonidas turned his gaze toward the servant, he noticed a beautifully crafted cup held in Dienekes' hands. The cup was a testament to the exquisite artistry and craftsmanship of ancient Greece, reflecting the aesthetic sensibilities of the time.

Fashioned from pure silver, the cup gleamed softly in the dimly lit room, its surface reflecting the flickering light of the torches that lined the walls. The smooth texture of the metal conveyed a sense of refinement and elegance, inviting the touch of the beholder.

The cup was adorned with intricate engravings and delicate patterns, depicting scenes of mythological tales and heroic exploits. Greek gods and goddesses, such as Zeus and Athena, were depicted in intricate detail, their graceful forms and divine attributes captured with precision.

The rim of the cup boasted an ornate design, reminiscent of laurel leaves, symbolizing victory and accomplishment. The handle, fashioned as a looping vine, added a touch of whimsy and nature's embrace to the otherwise opulent piece.

As King Leonidas reached out to take the cup, he noticed the weight of it in his hand. It felt substantial, a testament to the skilled workmanship of the silversmith who had meticulously shaped and polished the vessel. The coolness of the metal against his skin provided a refreshing sensation, soothing his troubled mind.

Within the cup, clear water sparkled invitingly, a testament to its purity and freshness. King Leonidas could see his reflection mirrored on the surface, distorted by the gentle ripples as he held the cup steady. The water seemed to hold a promise of solace and rejuvenation, offering a brief respite from the tumultuous thoughts that plagued him.

As King Leonidas brought the cup to his lips and took a sip, he savored the coolness of the water as it refreshed his parched throat. The taste was crisp and invigorating, quenching his thirst and momentarily distracting him from the weight of his fears.

The cup, with its intricate design and symbolic motifs, served not only as a vessel for sustenance but also as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage and artistic prowess of ancient Greece. Its presence in this pivotal moment spoke of the enduring traditions and the timeless beauty that permeated every aspect of Greek life.

King Leonidas felt a sense of gratitude as he set the cup down, appreciating the craftsmanship and the thoughtful gesture from his loyal servant. The cup stood as a symbol of comfort and reassurance, a small but significant reminder of the bond between servant and master, and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of uncertainty.

With the taste of water still lingering on his tongue, King Leonidas took a deep breath, steeling himself for the impending transformation that awaited him under the light of the full moon. The cup remained nearby, a tangible reminder of the fleeting moments of solace amidst the trials that lay ahead.

"Guards!" King Leonidas shouted and so did around seven guards enter the room. "Take Dienekes to a room and lock him up until further notice".

Dienekes was shocked, he was wondering what he had actually did wrong that the King wanted to lock him up like a criminal. The King didn't look into Dienekes eyes as he said those words, the King saw Dienekes as his own son, he didn't see him as a Slave.

The king didn't want to hurt Dienekes if he maybe turned into an uncontrollable monster, he just wanted Dienekes to be safe and the only way he could possibly do that right now was if he locked Dienekes in the dungeon.

Seconds turned into minutes, minutes turned into hours and then finally it was now time. The full moon had started to appear on the sky.

(NOTE: THE ROOM WAS LOCKED WITH ONLY THE KING INSIDE)

Immediately the Full Moon appeared on the night sky, he started to feel something, his entire body was changing shape....

He was now turning into the ferocious Monster...
