Chereads / Chosen By The System: The Avatar's Journey / Chapter 92 - Keep A Secret From Watson

Chapter 92 - Keep A Secret From Watson

As Miller and Edward hurried away from the scene of the fight, the atmosphere crackled with tension. Miller's mind raced, trying to process the exhilaration of his newfound strength, while Watson looked at him with a mix of awe and curiosity.

"Miller, what just happened back there?" Watson finally managed to ask, his voice filled with a sense of wonder.

Miller paused for a moment, taking a deep breath to steady himself. "I... I don't know, Watson," he replied honestly. "Something changed in me. It's like I unlocked a hidden power within myself."

Edward nodded, understanding the weight of Miller's words. They both knew that what had just transpired was far from ordinary. Miller had surpassed his previous limitations, becoming a force to be reckoned with.

Miller wanted to tell Watson the truth, but some words flickered at his retina:

[NEW QUEST]

[KEEP THIS SECRET FROM WATSON UNTIL THE SYSTEM IS SATISFIED THAT WATSON CAN BE TRUSTED WITH THAT INFORMATION]

[QUEST REWARD]

[EXP: 1000]

Miller understood what this new Quest was all about. The System wanted him to keep the information only to himself. The System did not trust Watson with that information.

Meanwhile, at the scene of the fight, a fellow student approached the group of unconscious bullies. It was Emily's boyfriend, Jason Turner, his face etched with concern and confusion. He had heard about the commotion and rushed to the spot.

Jason Turner, Emily's boyfriend, possessed a rugged charm that resonated with his personality. With a height that towered above most of his peers, Jason's muscular build was a testament to his dedication to physical fitness. While he may not have been the epitome of perfection, his average yet striking features held an undeniable allure.

Jason's strong jawline was adorned with a neatly trimmed beard, adding a touch of maturity to his youthful countenance. His dark brown hair, styled in a casual yet effortlessly appealing manner, framed his face, accentuating his deep-set hazel eyes that exuded a mixture of intensity and warmth. Those eyes, filled with determination, reflected a hint of the passion that fueled his pursuits.

His broad shoulders and well-defined biceps hinted at his commitment to martial arts, his dedication evident in the way his muscles rippled beneath his skin. Jason's physical strength, honed through disciplined training, matched his inner resolve, making him an imposing figure when he chose to unleash his skills.

Confidence emanated from him, not as an arrogant display, but as a quiet assurance in his abilities. Jason carried himself with a poised and self-assured demeanor, showcasing a balance between approachability and a hint of mystery.

Though his appearance may have initially drawn attention, it was Jason's engaging personality that truly captivated those around him. He possessed a charismatic aura that effortlessly drew people towards him, making him a natural leader and someone others looked up to.

In the world that lay before him, Jason Turner stood as a symbol of resilience and determination, his average handsomeness only serving as a complement to his multifaceted personality and the unique qualities that made him who he was.

"What happened here?" Jason asked, his voice filled with worry.

The remaining boys, bruised and battered, said these words:

"It was Miller," one of them managed to say. "He... he fought us all and defeated us."

Jason's eyebrows furrowed in disbelief. Miller, the quiet and unassuming nerd, had single-handedly taken down a group of bullies? It seemed unfathomable.

Jason was also one of the school bullies. He was like the biggest bully in the First Year Students.

"I don't believe you," Jason stated firmly. "Miller wouldn't be capable to do something like this. There must be some mistake."

The boys exchanged puzzled glances, unsure how to convince Jason of the truth. They knew Miller's transformation was difficult to comprehend, especially for those who had only seen his weaker side.

Jason without wasting time went to call The Clinic. He wanted his friends to go and get treatment. And as for Miller, Jason had vowed to deal with him later at the appropriate time.

It was now night time and Miller and Watson were in the hostel. There was a big silence in the room. The Silence was too much to the point that a spoon dropping could be heard clearly.

After the fight, Watson knew that Miller was hiding something, he knew that Miller always lied to him nowadays. He was even started to question their relationship.

Since they arrived at the hostel and came to their room. Watson and Miller did not instigate any conversation to each other. They both went to the cafeteria to eat food and where in their room because of the curfew.

There was a 10pm curfew in the school since Miller arrived. This was because most students had been complaining of seeing Things they could not get explain at night. Miller at first found it absurd when Watson told him what Most students were saying. But now Miller felt like he could believe him. This was because of their new teacher who was a Werewolf.

She had told him that she is from a powerful pack which implied that there were more than one Werewolf; Even if they are not here. If Werewolves existed, so would vampires and other creatures exist.

Miller was on his own bed. The room was quiet, none of them talked to each other. The silence was awkward.

Because of the Silence, Miller felt talking to The System.

"System, i want to ask you a question, can i?" Miller asked the System inside his head.

(NOTE: WHENEVER MILLER IS TALKING TO THE SYSTEM HE DOES NOT TALK WITH HIS MOUTH. HE JUST THINKS OF WHAT TO SAY AND THE SYSTEM REPLIES. IT IS LIKE THE SYSTEM CAN READ HIS MIND. THE SYSTEM CAN ONLY READ HIS MIND. IF THE WORDS WERE DIRECTED TO IT. NOT EVERY TAUGHT OF MILLER CAN BE READ BY THE SYSTEM).

"Go ahead" The System said.

"I had a little knowledge of Martial Arts before you got attached to Me. When i was fighting with Ethan at the Human Shelter on Planet Citarada, for some unknown reason, i knew how to fight; very well, what is the cause, is it part of the Abilities you granted me" Miller asked.

"Do you remember INSTINCTIVE COMBAT SKILL?" The System asked Miller.

"Yes i do" Miller said.

"What do you know about that skill?" The System asked.

"I don't know much" Miller said.

"You are currently in INSTINCTIVE COMBAT SKILL LEVEL 1" the System started: The level one is known as Feral Instinct".

"Yes i remember" Miller said out of excitement. "You told me that this skill grants me with basic natural INSTINCTS allowing me to react quickly to Immediately threats and defend myself adequately".

"i hope i have been able to answer your question" The System said.

"Yes" Miller said with a Smile.

*******

It was still night time. A woman was inside a certain area where tall trees and grass were present, in the middle of the night. This place was still inside the school premises.

"Why have you called us?" One of them said in frustration.

"Is it about the upcoming full moon?" Another replied. This one was a student. A year Two Student.

The amount of people there were around fourteen. Eight Males Student and Three Female student and Three Teachers.

One of the teachers was female and the other two were Males. The Female teacher was Sophie Smith. All the fourteen people present were all werewolves.

"It's not about the upcoming full moon. We can think about that later....." Sophie said. But she was interrupted by another word.

These words of the next person came with great fear: "Is it about the vampires....Are they back to take their revenge on us....."

"It's not about the vampires!" Sophie snapped at this person immediately with anger. Not letting him to complete his words.

"It's about a student, i encountered today" Sophie continued. "From the smell he is not human..."

"Then he is a Vampire or maybe a Wendigo or something worse" Another Female Second Year Student said.

"He is not a Vampire and he is neither human. i can tell from his smell. I just can't figure out what he is?." Sophie said.

"What should we do about him? Should we just kill him. One of the teachers who was a male that was present said.

"I don't think Killing him is a great idea, we should just keep an eye on him from a far distance" Sophie said with Urgency.

"What's his name" Almost all of them said in unison.

"A first year student... his name is Miller Edward" Sophie said.
