Alone in the sanctuary of his room, Miller's mind was consumed by unanswered questions. He sought the truth about the System, the purpose of his newfound abilities, and the enigma of being the System's chosen one. Did he meet the System by chance or was it pre arranged by some supernatural force? Why did the System choose him? What makes him special? How can the system grant his abilities?.
As he turned his thoughts inward, his gaze settled upon the green words that flickered in his vision, emanating from the System.
[WON'T YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT YOUR NEW FOUND SKILL; INSTINCTIVE COMBAT SKILL LEVEL 1(FERAL INSTINCTS) AND INSIGHT SKILL LEVEL 1 (EAGLE'S EYE)]
Miller did not reply, so there was a significant silence between the two. Intrigued yet cautious, Miller hesitated for a moment before mustering the courage to speak, breaking the silence that enveloped the room. "System, what does it mean to be the chosen one? Why me?" he inquired, his voice laced with a mix of curiosity and determination.
Miller's heart sank as the System remained silent, and frustration gnawed at him, withholding the answers he desperately sought. It seemed determined to keep its secrets locked away, leaving Miller to navigate the depths of his destiny alone. Frustration welled within him, but he refused to be deterred.
Undeterred, Miller shifted his focus to the new skills that had unlocked during his fight with Ethan. His eyes scanned the words that materialized within his mind, describing the abilities he now possessed—Feral Instincts and Eagle Eyes.
[INSIGHT SKILL LEVEL 1]
[EAGLE'S EYE]
[THE USER'S VISION BECOMES SLIGHTLY SHARPER AND MORE FOCUSED, ALLOWING FOR BETTER CLARITY AND DETAIL PERCEPTION]
[INSTINCTIVE COMBAT SKILL LEVEL 1]
[FERAL INSTINCTS]
[THE USER NOW POSSESSES BASIC NATURAL COMBAT INSTINCTS, ALLOWING THE USER TO REACT QUICKLY TO IMMEDIATE THREATS AND DEFEND HIMSELF ADEQUATELY]
Miller knew these words were true, somehow when he was fighting with Ethan after those levelling up messages showed up, he knew how to Fight very well without being taught. Moreover, his sense of sight had improved, he could now even fell like a super human.
Intrigued by the possibilities of how powerful he might have become because of Levelling up, Miller decided to put his new skills to the test. He stood in the center of his room, allowing the energy within him to flow freely. With a surge of primal instinct, his combat senses sharpened, and he felt an ancient warrior's spirit awaken within him. The Feral Instincts coursed through his veins, empowering him with heightened reflexes and an acute awareness of immediate threats.
Embracing his newfound clarity, Miller activated his Eagle Eyes, his vision transforming before him. Colors appeared more vibrant, edges crisper, and the world seemed to hold an untold number of hidden details. It was as if he could see beyond the surface, perceiving the world in all its intricacies.
Some green words from the system flickered at Miller's retina:
[HINT]
[TO LEVEL UP SKILLS, THE USER MUST USE THAT PARTICULAR SKILL FREQUENTLY]
From these words Miller knew the first skill was likely to level up was his Insight skill. Because he would use his eyes to look at object everyday and thus might activate that skill unknown to him. As for the other one, he was only going to use it during combat.
Amidst his practice, Miller couldn't help but wonder about the purpose of these skills, the reason for his transformation into a Throsk'Bok. Each revelation brought him closer to his true nature, yet raised even more questions about his place in the grand scheme of things.
His mind still racing with uncertainty, Miller once again directed his thoughts toward the silent System. "Why won't you tell me who the chosen one is?" he pressed, desperation seeping into his voice. "What is my role in all of this? And Why are you given me Abilities?"
The System didn't reply to Miller's questions; it simply ignored him.
Miller was not comfortable with the secrets, the system kept from him.
Behind the veil of the System's existence, it silently whispered to itself, a proclamation shrouded in uncertainty and hidden agendas:
"MILLER, PLEASE GET STRONGER FOR THE FUTURE. IT'S VERY IMPORTANT. YOU ARE VERY CRUCIAL TO MY MASTER'S PLAN."
