The task presented by the system was a challenging one, demanding the utmost focus and precision from Miller's newly enhanced senses. The whispers were like elusive butterflies, fluttering just out of reach. They were so faint and so delicate, that even the super hearing of James and Getrax would be unable to detect them. Only someone with Miller's finely tuned ears, attuned to the slightest of sounds, had any hope of capturing these whispers. It was a quest that would require the utmost concentration, the utmost patience, and the utmost skill.
Miller sat alone in the room, surrounded by silence. A pristine white sofa beckoned him, and he settled upon it, folding his legs together in a monk-like pose, seeking serenity. As he closed his eyes, the world around him shifted, and his super hearing kicked in, his only connection to the outside realm.
His heartbeat drummed loudly in his ears, dominating his consciousness. With great concentration, Miller attempted to silence his own rhythm, striving to gain control over the symphony of sounds enveloping him. It was as if he could select and amplify certain sounds while tuning out others, his focus sharpening amidst the auditory cacophony.
Gradually, the heartbeat that resonated within him shifted, no longer his own, but that of the Anti-Meta Human travelers soldiers stationed outside his room. Miller marveled at his newfound ability to direct his attention, as if playing a game with his senses, selecting the sounds he wished to amplify with each calm breath.
A triumphant smile adorned his face as the realization of his Unnatural Hearing ABILITY dawned upon him. While the temporary blindness posed a challenge, he embraced the potential of his extraordinary gift. With his enhanced hearing, every whisper, word, heartbeat, and breath within the shelter became discernible. Yet, the sheer volume of stimuli overwhelmed him initially, threatening to rupture his fragile human mind.
But Miller was no longer merely human. He had been transformed into a Throsk'Bok, a being transcending the boundaries of ordinary existence. With time, he acclimated to the barrage of sounds, attaining a sense of comfort amidst the chaos.
Amidst the auditory tapestry, certain words eluded Miller's grasp, slipping through the cracks of his perception. These fragmented utterances originated from Derek, whose anguished voice pierced Miller's consciousness. Straining his senses, Miller learned to filter out the extraneous noises, focusing solely on the words of Derek, Selena, Tyler, and the two other Anti-Meta Human soldiers.
However, a formidable obstacle impeded Miller's comprehension. The room housing Derek was enveloped in impenetrable soundproof walls, shielding his agonized pleas from all ears, even those with superhuman capabilities. Despite his auditory prowess, Miller found himself unable to decipher Derek's words clearly.
Within the muted chamber, a disquieting symphony unfolded. The intermittent surges of electricity sparked, resonating through the air as Derek suffered under the torment of his captors. Miller, ever the keen listener, could discern every whisper, though they seemed distant and elusive. These fragmented conversations, carried on in hushed tones, bore the weight of Derek's suffering.
Tyler's voice sliced through the silence, his words dripping with sadistic intent. "We'll continue until your life slips away," he taunted Derek, his eyes fixated on the anguished figure before him.
Selena, possessed of a mutant ability that could coerce truth from anyone, contemplated a more direct approach. "Why not pry the words from him?" she suggested, her voice laced with a chilling calmness. With a glance, she locked eyes with Derek, and their irises metamorphosed into crimson pools.
Miller strained to catch every syllable, as Derek's resistance faltered. Pain seared through his skull when he dared to lie, a testament to Selena's formidable power. "You cannot resist," she declared, her smile an embodiment of sadistic triumph. "Neither human nor mutant can withstand my influence."
In a moment of revelation, Derek's trembling voice confessed to the truth. "I was sent on a mission on Earth," he admitted, his words a fragile thread. He went on to recount the instructions he had received from the enigmatic Commander Eric Richard.
"i was sent on a mission on Earth by One of the commander in the Anti-Meta Human headquarters by the name Eric Richard to grab the Mutant known as James THEODORE. Eric told me to handcuff him and bring him to a secret location. He told me the code to input on the scanner. After I made James THEODORE; the Mutant unconscious, when i was about to press the teleporter to input the code. The boy named Miller took it from Me and smashed it in a rock nearby and that was how we teleported to another Planet" He said.
"Where would that code take you and what is the code number?" Selena asked.
"It's 478292973754... and i really don't know where it would take me to. All i know is that Eric is gathering Mutants. This is the not first Mutants he has sent me to capture. I have captured many and whenever it's time to deliver the mutant, he would give me a seperate teleporter code from the previous one. He was trying to hide his track." Derek said.
(NOTE: ON EARTH, A HUMANS TELEPORTER COULD TRANSPORT SOMEONE TO A SPECIFIC LOCATION. IF THE RIGHT CODE WAS PROVIDED)
"Do you know what he is preparing those mutants you have captured for and are you the only one working for him?" Selena asked.
"I don know if their are other Mutants working for him, but i know he is very cruel. One of the humans that i know that once worked for him was a man Named Carlos Edward" Derek said.
CARLOS EDWARD.
The sound of that name reverberated through the room, jolting Miller to his core. It was his father, who was murdered by an unknown mutant. Clenching his fists, Miller's pain and anger collided, plunging him into a maelstrom of unanswered questions.
What lay behind Eric's gathering of mutants?
Was he responsible for his father's death?
And were there other mutants complicit in Eric's nefarious plans?
Miller's senses pulsed with a mixture of determination and dread, leaving him on the precipice of a revelation that could shatter his world.
