Chapter 4 - Education Taught by Ustadz Manthuk

Ustadz Manthuk is a well-known scholar in the Shanti Kingdom. He is known as a ustadz who is very strict and disciplined in teaching religious knowledge to his students. One of his students is Salam and Salim, the twins heir to the throne of the Shanti Kingdom.

Salam are very diligent and enthusiastic in following religious lessons from Ustadz Manthuk. He always tries to understand every lesson that is taught carefully. However, it is different from Salim who is rather lazy and not too interested in religious studies.

One day, Ustadz Manthuk gave assignments to his students to read and understand one letter in the Qur'an every day. Salam with enthusiasm immediately complete the task every day. Whereas Salim even underestimated the task and only read the Qur'an when asked by Ustadz Manthuk.

Seeing the difference between Salam and Salim, Ustadz Manthuk gave advice to Salim. "My son, religious education is very important for our life in this world and the hereafter. Never ignore assignments given by teachers, whatever they are. Because that is a form of our appreciation for the very valuable knowledge of religion."

Salim pondered after hearing Ustadz Manthuk's advice. He realized how important religious education was and he felt ashamed of his previous attitude that did not really care about religious studies.

Since then, Salim has tried to be more diligent in studying religion. He asked Salam for help to help him understand some religious lessons that were previously difficult to understand. Salam is happy to help Salim and the two of them get closer in deepening their religious knowledge.

When King Bima found out about the positive changes in Salim, he was very happy and proud. He praised his son who is now more diligent in studying religion and hopes that Salim can become a wise leader in the future.

From here, Salam and Salim became more open in understanding various aspects of life, both in terms of religion as well as social and political life. They are getting ready to face the future as heirs to the throne of the Shanti Kingdom who are full of responsibility.

"Assalamu'alaikum Ustadz Manthuk," greeted Salam and Salim while greeting.

"Wa'alaikumsalam Salam and Salim, what can Ustadz help you with today?" asked Ustadz Manthuk.

"Ustadz, we want to learn about religion and philosophy," Salam answered.

"Ah, religion and philosophy. An interesting topic," said Ustadz Manthuk.

"We want to know about the education that Ustadz gives to people who study with Ustadz," Salim continued.

"Of course, the education that I teach is about awareness, skills and knowledge," explained Ustadz Manthuk. "Consciousness is about who we are, what we do, and how we should live well in this world. Skills are about how we should behave properly and how to communicate effectively with others. While knowledge is about religious knowledge and general knowledge that is useful for living in this world.

"How can Ustadz provide good education to people who study with Ustadz?" asked Salam.

"I provide education by setting a good example, teaching positive values, and guiding them to think critically and creatively," answered Ustadz Manthuk.

"How can Ustadz ensure that the education provided is truly beneficial for the people who study with Ustadz?" asked Salim.

"I ensure that the education I provide can be applied in everyday life and will benefit them. I also always try to identify problems and find the best solutions to overcome these problems, "explained Ustadz Manthuk.

Hearing Ustadz Manthuk's words, Salam and Salim felt very inspired. They were determined to learn and practice all the knowledge taught by Ustadz Manthuk.

Salam asked, "Ustadz, what should we do to develop our thinking skills?"

Ustadz Manthuk smiled and replied, "You must study diligently and consistently. Read the holy book and books that contain knowledge. Discuss with people who are more experienced than you and ask everything you want to know. Don't be afraid to ask questions and never stop Study."

Salim replied, "Ustadz, we often feel confused when we read the holy book. Do you have any tips to understand it better?"

Ustadz Manthuk replied, "Of course, you have to learn Arabic and know the grammar and vocabulary used in the holy scriptures. Apart from that, you also have to understand the historical and cultural context when the holy scriptures were revealed. When you understand the context and language, you can better understand the meaning contained in the scriptures."

Salam and Salim found Ustadz Manthuk's answer very helpful. They are determined to study more diligently so they can developt and their thinking abilities.

After that, they said goodbye to Ustadz Manthuk and returned to the palace. They felt very excited and full of hope to pursue their dreams of becoming great religious experts and philosophers.

The next day, Salam and Salim went to the mosque to study religion as usual. There they met Ustadz Manthuk who was giving lessons to the children.

"Assalamu'alaikum Ustadz," said Salam and Salim simultaneously while greeting Ustadz Manthuk.

"Wa'alaikumussalam, Salam and Salim. You have come on time. You will learn about the importance of education in Islam," said Ustadz Manthuk, smiling.

"What do you mean, Ustadz?" asked Salam curious.

"As you know, education in Islam is very important. We must always learn and improve our knowledge so that we can live a better life and be useful for others," explained Ustadz Manthuk.

"Agreed, Ustadz," said Salim nodding.

"However, the education we receive must be balanced. Not only focusing on religious knowledge, but also world knowledge that can help us in life," added Ustadz Manthuk.

"I understand, Ustadz," Salam said.

"And the most important thing is moral education, namely how we can become good, honest, and noble people," explained Ustadz Manthuk again.

"Thanks Ustadz, we will follow Ustadz's advice," said Salim with a wide smile on his lips.

"Okay, now let's learn more about education in Islam. Who is ready?" asked Ustadz Manthuk, smiling.

"I, Ustadz!" Simultaneously Salam and Salim replied enthusiastically.

Ustadz Manthuk smiled seeing Salam and Salim's enthusiasm for learning. He feels happy to be a teacher who can guide children to be better.

"Okay, let's start by reading the Qur'an and studying its interpretation," said Ustadz Manthuk while taking a Koran from the bookshelf.

Salam and Salim took seriously every word read by Ustadz Manthuk. They were happy to be able to learn about Islam with Ustadz Manthuk.

After the lesson ended, Salam and Salim thanked Ustadz Manthuk and said goodbye to return to the palace.

"Thank you very much, Ustadz. We will continue to learn and improve ourselves according to Islamic teachings," said Salam and Salim while greeting.

"Okay, I hope you always get blessings in every step you take," said Ustadz Manthuk, nodding.

Salam and Salim stepped out of the mosque with a happy heart and full of enthusiasm to keep learning and trying to be even better.

Ustadz Manthuk smiled with satisfaction seeing Salam and Salim's enthusiasm for learning.

"Very good, both of you have a passion for learning. Remember, you are still young and your future is still long. Learn as much as you can so that one day you can become a successful person in this world and the hereafter," said Ustadz Manthuk.

"I want to be like Ustadz Manthuk, good at religion and also good at world science," said Salim enthusiastically.

"Me too, Ustadz," said Salam.

"God willing, you can definitely become like that. But you have to try and pray, and always remember that Allah is always with us," said Ustadz Manthuk wisely.

"Ustadz Manthuk's point is correct. Science can help us in life, but we must always remember that everything must be done with good morals," Salam said.

"Yes, that's very important. We have to maintain our morals so that we can live peacefully and benefit others," added Salim.

"That's right, Salam and Salim. Now let's continue our study. Who wants to read the holy verses of the Koran?" asked Ustadz Manthuk.

"Allow me, Ustadz," Salam said, taking the Al-Quran from the shelf.

Salam also began to read the holy verses of the Koran in a melodious voice and good tajwid. Salim also listened solemnly.

After Salam finished reading the holy verses of the Koran, Ustadz Manthuk praised Salam for his good recitation.

"Very good, Salam. You read the holy verses of the Koran with the correct tajwid," said Ustadz Manthuk.

"Thank you, Ustadz. I learned tajwid from my father," Salam said.

"Good, you are indeed a student who studies diligently. May Allah always give blessings and goodness in your life," Ustadz Manthuk prayed.

"Amen, Ustadz. Thank you," Salam answered with a smile on his face.

After finishing the lesson, Salam and Salim returned to the palace. They reflected on Ustadz Manthuk's words and felt even more motivated to keep learning.

"We have to study hard, Salam. We have to deepen our knowledge of religion and also world knowledge so that we can be useful for others," said Salim.

"I agree, Salim. We also have to always pray and follow the example of the Prophet so that we can become people of noble character," said Salam.

They also promised to always learn and improve themselves, and continue to follow the valuable lessons from Ustadz Manthuk.

When they arrived at the palace, they met Salam's father who was waiting for them in the living room.

"Greetings, Salim, how was class today?" asked Salam's father.

"Thank God, sir. We learned a lot of new things about religion and life," said Salam.

"Good, that's very important. You must continue to study and deepen your religious knowledge so that you can become people who are useful to society," said Salam's father.

"Yes, sir. We promise to keep learning and improving ourselves," said Salim.

Salam's father smiled proudly seeing the enthusiasm of his two children to study. He hopes they can continue to follow in the footsteps of the Prophet and become role models for the surrounding community.

"Come on, let's have dinner first. You must be tired after studying all day," Salam's father said while holding his two children.

They walked together to the dining room, talking about the lessons they had learned that day. The palace's best maids and cooks had already prepared their favorite dishes. While eating, King Bima asked what lesson they learned with Ustadz Manthuk today. They also answered funny and enthusiastic.

"I learned about tajwid, father. Salam read the holy verses of the Koran in a melodious voice and good tajwid," Salim replied.

"Ah, tajwid. That is very important in reading the Koran," said King Bima.

"Yes, father. Ustadz Manthuk taught us to read the Koran properly so that we could understand the messages contained in it," Salam continued.

"Very good, my children. Religious knowledge is very important. But don't forget to deepen world knowledge so that it can be useful for society," said King Bima.

"Yes, father. We also learned about science and history today," said Salim.

"That's right, father. Ustadz Manthuk taught us about the struggle of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in spreading Islam and also about the history of the Islamic empire," Salam added.

"Very good. You have to study both sciences well so that later you can become a good leader for the people," said King Bima.

When the food was finished, they rushed to continue their learning activities. King Bima was proud and happy to see his children's enthusiasm for learning, and prayed that they could continue studying with passion and sincerity.

"Good, you two are indeed children who study hard. Religious studies are very important to become human beings with good and noble character," said King Bima with a smile.

"That's true, Father. And the lessons taught by Ustadz Manthuk are so valuable and useful for us," said Salam.

"I agree, Father. Today we learned about the importance of protecting the environment and how to reduce plastic waste," said Salim.

"Very good. Children must understand the importance of protecting the environment so that nature can be preserved," said Raja Bima.

They continued eating and talked about the lessons they had that day. King Bima is proud to have children who study hard and care about the environment. After eating, they split up to continue their respective activities.

Salam and Salim returned to the study room to finish their assignments, while King Bima continued his work as king by paying attention to his people. They are all grateful for the blessings that Allah SWT has given them and try to always be human beings who are useful to others.
