"We can start on its cure immediately. First, run the analysis," I said, tapping the button on my desk. A transparent rectangular mirror suddenly erupted from the ceiling, and a ray of light shone on it, allowing me to see the full analysis of the Lizard Serum that Pete gave me.

"The gene sequences look right. I wonder what could have happened. Let's see its molecular structure, please," I requested.

{Displaying 3D molecular structure of the subject.}

Studying the intricate 3D molecular structure, my mind raced through my knowledge of gene editing. Thankfully, all the devices and materials needed were already in my basement.

The cure for the Lizard Serum lay within the delicate web of bonds and interactions that formed its essence. With determination in my eyes, I began dissecting the molecular puzzle before me.

"Ah, there it is," I whispered, spotting a crucial region of interest within the structure. "The anomaly lies in this specific binding pocket," I continued as I zoomed in on the 3D structure of the sample molecule.

After analyzing the amino acid interactions, I proposed modifying the molecule to prevent its binding with the target receptor. Virtual compounds were generated and screened for effectiveness and safety through computer simulations.

The synthesized compounds underwent thorough characterization using spectroscopic techniques to ensure their purity and identity. In vitro assays were conducted to assess their binding ability, selectivity, and potential toxicity.

Through repeated experimentation and optimization, a lead compound was identified that effectively bound to the target receptor while disrupting the problematic signaling pathways associated with the Lizard transformation.

Encouraged by this breakthrough, I tested the compound on cell cultures derived from Lizard-affected tissues, closely monitoring its impact on gene expression, protein activity, and cell structure. Promisingly, the compound reversed the Lizard-like characteristics and restored cellular balance.

Moving forward, extensive preclinical studies were conducted on some virtual animal models resembling the Lizard transformation. These studies assessed the compound's pharmacokinetics, toxicity, and therapeutic effectiveness, providing valuable insights into dosage, administration methods, and potential side effects. This process refined the strategy and minimized the possibility of adverse reactions.

"Finally..." I uttered as my knees fell to the ground from exhaustion. Glancing at a mirror I had brought from my dimension, I noticed the heavy bags under my eyes. Disintegrating it back into the mirror dimension, I muttered, "With this serum, I will be able to completely nullify the side effects of the Lizard Serum while preserving all its beneficial properties," a mix of relief and excitement coursing through my veins. Yes, I didn't create a cure just like Peter told me to...well, not yet.

What I did, however, was to improve and enhance the Lizard Serum that Pete and Dr. Connors created, thereby allowing me to have the perfect formula for the Lizard Serum.

Superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, agility, reflexes, and, most importantly, a regenerative healing factor, maybe some lizard traits, but nothing too troublesome, only the benefits. This serum would give me all of it with just one dose without any troublesome side effects, at all!

"Well, Peter's base genes helped stabilize the lizard DNA, so I guess I should put the credit to Mr. Parker..." I spoke to myself while looking at the dark green serum.

"Hehehe~ I could create some downgraded versions of this, and it would still give me some benefits. Fuck... I'm a genius." I uttered with a crazed look.

"Now, I'll just need to produce the downgraded versions of it, which will take about..." I looked at the screen and found out that the estimated time for production would take about 45-50 minutes, which isn't that long, to be honest.

"Dr. Connors would still have both of his arms, but all the lizard's abilities would now be unavailable to him." I muttered to myself while modifying the calculation for the downgraded formula.

With a last tap on my keyboard, "And...done!"

Resting my hands on my hips, I said with a satisfied tone, "Within 50 minutes, the cure for the Lizard will be complete," I looked around and continued, "Now who wants some pizzas?" I questioned to particularly no one. Slouching my back, a saddened look adorned my face.

"Should I invite Gwen here or something?" I questioned myself as I went to my fridge for a cold pizza, the best kind of pizza.

...

Another day in this crazy world I lived in, and here I am, currently making my way towards my school, Midtown High.

The Lizard could attack the school at any moment now. Luckily, I have the cure in hand, which means there's a possibility that we could stop him earlier than expected.

"No attacking the Oscorp building. Pete won't get caught by Mr. Stacy, and there will be no random mutated Lizardmen running around New York. Three birds with one stone!" I muttered as I tightened my grip on my bag.

Seeing other students bustling around the campus, I couldn't help but sigh and shake my head. "One wrong move..." I murmured, lost in my thoughts. I quickly shook my head to rid myself of the negative thinking and entered the school.

As I walked through the bustling hallways of Midtown High, there they were, I saw her. Gwen Stacy, along with MJ, Pete, and Flash, hanging out in the middle of the hallways. Flash was the first person who saw me, he widened his eyes in surprise while gesturing the others to look at me.

"Luke..." I heard someone whisper. I followed the sound and saw Gwen. Gwen's face lit up with a wide smile as she sprang up and dashed towards me, wrapping me in a tight hug.

"You should have taken more sick leave, Luke! What if something happened to you?" Gwen asked, her eyes fixed on mine as she gently held my neck.

"I feel perfect now, especially when I can see you up close again," I murmured softly in her ear. I pulled back slightly and noticed the blush creeping onto her cheeks.

"Cute," I chuckled, causing Gwen to playfully punch my shoulder before dragging me towards the others.

Just then, Flash snuck up behind me, lifting me up in a bear hug and patting my back. "Here's our survivor!" he exclaimed, filled with excitement. He then grabbed my shoulder and said, "Man, did you work out while on bed rest or something?"

"Just good genes, my friend," I replied with a chuckle, patting his back in return.

"Look who came back from the dead," MJ teased, lightly running her fingers through my hair. "Please, stop doing that whenever you feel like it," I said to her, slightly annoyed, but then I couldn't resist giving her a tight hug. "Never," she whispered close to my ear. We released our hug, and I glanced at Pete, who was standing behind MJ, wearing a silly grin.

"You look ridiculous," I blurted out honestly.

"I know," he replied with a laugh. "Welcome back, man." The two of us shared a brotherly hug, patting each other's backs.

After catching up with them, Pete and I decided to have a private talk near the boys' restroom for privacy, knowing that what we would talk about needed some classification. I told the others to wait for us at the outside cafeteria because Pete will help me talk with the teachers for any special projects or activities, to which they immediately agreed. Except for MJ, it seems like she knew something.

Once the two of us were inside the restroom, I looked at Pete and asked him, "Does MJ know that I know?"

Pete looked at me blankly and answered, "Well, yeah, of course..." He shrugged, and I gave him a deadpan look before turning around and rubbing my temple in frustration.

"Why? What's wrong? MJ's fine, she's our childhood friend for Christ's sake," he whined, trying to make up an excuse for what he did.

I turned back to face him, meeting his eyes with a serious look that immediately changed his demeanor.

"Why would you even tell her, man? If something were to happen to you, do you have any idea what a woman is capable of? MJ would literally stand in danger to help you! Do you want to risk losing her? Do you want that?" I spoke in irritation while repeatedly pushing my index finger on his chest.

"What would you want me to do then? It's already done! I can't make her forget. I know what I've done, Luke. You don't need to lecture me," he replied without batting an eye, a little annoyed at my lecturing. I turned my back on him and took something from my backpack.

"Sigh~ Here, catch," I said as I tossed a cylindrical object with blue liquid inside it. Pete caught my toss, looking at what he was holding with a mixture of surprise and curiosity.

"Is this...?" He muttered, unsure of what he was holding.

"Dr. Connors' cure," I answered.

"What...? I thought you would only create the formula, not the cure itself. How did you even create this?" he questioned, geeking out a little at what he was holding.

"You do know that I'm a super genius multi-millionaire, right?" I spoke, brimming with confidence while raising one of my eyebrows at him. Pete looked at me with disgust as he responded with an annoyed tone, "Right... I completely forgot... Considering how hobo-looking you are."

"Hehe, fuck you too, Pete."

"Hey, language! You kiss your mama with that mouth?"

"Yeah, Aunt May's too."

"Fuck you!"

"HAHAH—"

Then a peaceful calmness was shared between us as we looked into each other's eyes, wearing our stupidest smiles. It was that golden moment that you can only have with your best friend, and it was also the moment that I'd been waiting for.

Creak!*

A sudden creaking noise appeared inside one of the stalls in the bathroom that we were in.

I looked at Peter and found him wide-eyed, looking at the stall in the middle.

He looked at me and uttered in a whisper, "Run..."

BANG!*

A loud noise erupted, causing me to close my eyes. When I opened them, I saw Pete being pushed through the wall with a huge scaly hand pushing his chest.

"PETER, PETER, PETER." A gnarly voice spoke.

"Ggkk — D— Dr. Connors, I think now's not the best time," Pete quipped jokingly while struggling.
