"I wonder where he could have gone suddenly, leaving his family behind." White poked.
Martin's sharp eyes didn't miss the subtle changes in Bill's expression. And then he knew that they had hit the right target.
All the colour drained from Bill's face, and he chugged down the remaining of his drink in one go. He stood up, searching for his bags.
"Bill? What happened? Is something wrong?" White asked.
"N-no. I have to go though. I don't want Mr Vance to get upset with me."
"You are right then let us help you carry those bags." Martin stood up, picking up a bag before Bill.
"What? No no, there is no need Martin. Really!" Bill tried, but to no avail as White took the other bag and before he could resist more, the two friends pulled him on the road to Vance's house.
Bill looked stressed, but then he thought, what could go wrong? There was no reason for his master to get upset with him if Martin and White accompanied him.
