"Corbin? I- Corbin?!"
"Not now, Sylvia." He almost ran inside the house, leaving Sylvia baffled and confused by his behaviour.
She stood in the living room watching him disappear into his room before the door was shut with a thud.
Sylvia blinked, not understanding what made him this way today.
"Sylvia, sweetheart."
She turned to see Selma walking out of the kitchen, wiping her hands with a napkin and an uneasy apologetic smile on her face.
"Mrs Addis, is Corbin okay? His behaviour is worrying me."
Selma glanced once at the closed door of Corbin's room before answering in a lower voice. "He is just..."
"I heard your conversation from the morning."
Selma felt like someone had dropped a brick right on her head. Her head snapped in Sylvia's way, her eyes searched if the woman was lying.
But she wasn't.
