"What's wrong? Why aren't you saying anything? If you have a problem, just say it," Tony asked in confusion at the room's silence.
"Stark, are you sure this is feasible? I'm still unconvinced. Can this monster really join our Justice League? Can he integrate safely with our team? I think that this is an unwise decision!"
Captain America was still a little worried, because the monster named Hulk had a great destructive power. If he could not suppress his anger and transformed in the middle of a city, how many innocent people would be killed and injured? The consequences would be unimaginable.
"Alright, Capt, since you're still so unconvinced, why don't we go right now and meet Bruce Banner to see if he was suitable to join our Justice League.
"We have both Li Yue and Thor here with us. We have nothing to fear even if he turned into monster. That thing was strong, but it was nowhere near Thor and Li Yue."
Seeing Captain America's hesitation, Tony proposed that they just meet Bruce right there and then. He even stood up from the sofa.
"I also agree to meet this Banner person. I am very curious about how he could transform into such a monster." Thor also stood up and reached for his ax and hammer.
"Li Yue, what do you think?" Captain America turned to Li Yue, instead of giving his answer.
"I agree with Tony. Why don't we go and meet Bruce Banner now?" Li Yue agreed to Tony's suggestion. After all, nobody in this room knew more about Bruce Banner than Li Yue!
Moreover, Hulk was indeed an extremely strong fighter, even in his nerfed movie version. It would be a waste to not let him join the League.
Li Yue had no doubt that Banner would eventually agree to join the League. Well, normally he would've joined the Avengers, but in this timeline he would be joining the Justice League instead.
Li Yue felt deeply sorry to the Soy Egg in Chief who was still embroiled in headache over the SHIELD situation.
The bald director would've never thought that three of the first generation Avengers candidate had already been poached into the Justice League instead, much less that they were planning to headhunt a fourth.
Nick Fury was about to become a troop-less commander. With the SHIELD that he had painstakingly built from bottom up now taken over by the Hydra, he basically only had two subordinate remaining: Barton the Hawkeye and Natasha the Black Widow.
Undoubtedly, if he had known about today's events, he would've taken a deep breath and yelled his classic mantra: "Motherfucker!"
Li Yue held down his laughter as he imagined Nick Fury flying into rage. However, he couldn't leave Bruce Banner alone just to avoid angering Nick Fury.
...
"But...Tony, do you know where Bruce Banner was hiding?" Li Yue asked as he also stood up.
"Of course I know. After the last time we fought that green monster, I made Jarvis keep an eye on him. He hid very well and avoided people, for all intents erasing his own presence, but he was nothing against Jarvis!
"He's been running for half a month, but he finally stopped. He is now hiding in a remote area, playing doctor with the locals to feed himself!
"….speaking of doctors, Li Yue, I can't help but think of Yinsen. We escaped from the terrorist cave together, but I have no idea where he is now!"
Tony had been bragging about how he tracked Bruce Banner, but suddenly he pivoted into a gloomy mood.
"It's alright, Tony. We can go meet Yinsen together when we have time, but for now, it's time for business!"
The conversation about Yinsen reminded Li Yue about his actions early in his arrival to the Marvel universe. He recalled about the kind Uncle John who helped him, Barry Allen who was similar to Flash… It had been a while since he last saw them.
"Time truly flies. More than a year had passed since I came here...I have no idea what is going on in my home universe. Would I even be able to return?"
Li Yue had actually been suppressing his thought about his home universe, unconsciously. He had no idea how to come back anyway, or if it was even possible.
If he could go back, could he still see his family? Li Yue had avoided thinking about it, by getting himself busy with other things.
...
"Jarvis, show the position of Bruce Banner now!"
"Sir!"
Tony and Jarvis interrupted Li Yue's reminiscence. With a single glance to Jarvis' projected map, Li Yue opened a blue portal with his right hand.
"Everyone, let's go!"
"Hey, I think your way of travel have destroyed any joy I have in fighting and flying in superspeed!" Tony joked with Li Yue.
"Well, I won't force you to come through the portal. You can just put on your armor and fly on your own!" Li Yue replied in a bad mood, "Tony, you are a typical example of someone who has gotten a cheap bargain and still act indignant."
"Hey, hey, I was just joking. I do like this portal travel thing that you have going on. I love it!" Tony replied with a hollow laugh. What a joke. Bruce Banner was currently more than a thousand kilometers away. It would take him hours to fly over. He wasn't so idle that he would choose the harder method of travel when he could just arrive there in an instant!
...
It was a remote small town. In a secluded alley, a blue circle of light around two meters long suddenly appeared from thin air. Five figures proceeded to emerge from it.
Two of them were dressed in strange clothes. One wore a red cloak on his back, with a hammer and an ax in each of his hand. Another had a round shield on his back. They looked like actors from a play.
"Are we really going just like this? Don't we look kinda suspicious?"
Captain America suddenly felt very aware of his skintight suit bearing stripes and stars. Countless people stared at them with puzzled eyes as soon as they left the alley, as if they were exotic animals!
For the first time in a while, Captain America felt self-conscious about his conspicuous attire.
"Captain, I've thought that for a while, I just didn't say it out loud. Your clothing is just weird overall—maybe I should customize exclusive combat suits for everyone. We're in the same League now, after all, we should maintain a cohesive image."
Ignoring the passer-by stares, Captain America was pleasantly surprised to find that they had finally arrived at their destination. The house in front of them was very simple—though, the same could be said to the other houses in the area. There were even naked civilians.
It seemed that this small town was really poor, on top of being remote, but it was also a good place to hide.
Tony took the initiative to knock on the old wooden door.
"Who is it? The door is not locked, come in!"
A man's voice immediately responded from within, along with footsteps approaching the door.
