Chapter 134 Sorcerer Supreme Li Yue?
Li Yue's group aside, Kaecilius' two followers on the other side immediately went pale when they saw that the powerful Kaecilius was defeated and killed in a single move.
Kaecilius, their boss whom they had worshiped, had been defeated just like that. And if they tried to avenge him, they would soon follow to afterlife through Li Yue's immense power.
There were only two of them, so even discounting Li Yue, they couldn't do any harm to the others in the group anyway. Even if they surrendered, they knew that only misery would await them.
After all, what they had done before had put all of Earth in danger. This crime made murder and arson look petty in comparison.
The two of them looked at each other and nodded, agreeing to the same conclusion. They took advantage of the fact that Li Yue wasn't looking to run in different direction.
While running, they hurriedly made the gesture with their Sling Ring to make an exit portal from this Mirror Dimension.
Li Yue immediately noticed that the two were trying to escape. He immediately gathered energy in his eyes, but stopped himself when he noticed two people beside him were already making their move.
Li Yue dispersed the energy and returned his eyes to normal as he watched.
...
A beam of light fired beside Li Yue, and a bolt of lightning thicker than an arm descended from the sky. Both attacks hit the two escapee, who fell to the ground: dead.
"Heh, you wouldn't mind that I stole your prey, right Li Yue?"
Tony put down his arm, the dazzling white light in the palm slowly fading. The beam of light just now came from Tony, and in classic Tony fashion, he didn't forget to crack a joke.
The bolt of lightning came from Thor, who also looked at Li Yue with a silly smile, but he didn't say anything.
"This is the difference between making friends with a Marvel superhero and a DC superhero."
Li Yue sighed in his heart. He was both happy and moved. Although Tony and Thor did not say anything directly, their actions made their support clear.
Li Yue knew that he had changed a lot after returning from The Boys world. It may be due to his newfound strength, or maybe it was because Homelander's personality had influenced him.
Either way, the result was that he became less sensitive towards deaths. But Li Yue didn't regret this change—he was thankful, even. He just have to make sure that he kept himself from killing innocent people, so that he didn't become an evil villain corrupted by power.
There's nothing wrong with being more decisive! As long as he reserve it for villains.
Then again, it wasn't even for all villains. After all, some villains acted out of some kind of justice. So the villains in Li Yue's definition only included those who chose to be his enemies.
This principle was a little contradictory and unreasonable, but that was what Li Yue truly believed at the time.
...
The main culprit, Kaecilius, had paid for his transgression with his life, and Dormammu had been defeated. Tony rightfully decided that the crisis was over.
"Alright, I guess that ended everything neatly. Let's all go back to our own homes and go talk to our mothers or something!" Tony clapped his hands and said to everyone, but mainly to the two Masters from Kamar-Taj!
They had fought side-by-side in this crisis, but they weren't exactly his friends. The entire reason that he was involved at all was because of his curiosity about magic, so Tony was rather regretful of his decision!
However, it wasn't all a loss. The relationship between him and Thor had changed; he felt that he could be friend with Thor now.
Moreover, Thor's existence piqued Tony's interest. He would like to study Thor further, and being friends would help with that goal.
"Master Li Yue, the Sorcerer Supreme had entrusted a sacred artifact of Kamar-Taj to your hands. I believe that this was a sign of her trust in you. Now that Kamar-Taj no longer have a Sorcerer Supreme to protect it, it was inevitable that beings from across the multiverse would turn their attention to us.
"Master Li Yue, have you ever considered taking the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme? You were a disciple of Kamar-Taj, after all, and your strength was proven more than adequate when you blew away Dormammu with a single attack."
Mordo was the one who made the offer, after looking at Wong and nodding at each other.
"I get what you mean, and I do plan to go to Kamar-Taj after finishing some business, but wouldn't it be bad if someone like me took over the Sorcerer Supreme position?"
Li Yue obviously admired Ancient One's sacrifice, and he also wished that Kamar-Taj remain standing against their enemies even without Ancient One.
Moreover, Li Yue had promised Ancient One and Master that he would lead Doctor Strange on the path of magic, and he would need Kamar-Taj for that.
However, Li Yue felt very awkward if he had to become the new Sorcerer Supreme. After all, he only knew some basic magic and space magic. Moreover, his current superhuman physique wasn't achieved through magic. He felt that it would be inappropriate for him to take the responsibility.
Imagine, for a moment, if he introduced himself as "Li Yue, the Sorcerer Supreme," before rushing forward in a close combat against the enemy.
Li Yue cringed a little thinking about it.
"Well, we can discuss it later. Go back to Kamar-Taj and sort out the mess: you have three sanctum to rebuild. If anything unexpected happens, you can come to me, I'm going to stay with Tony for a while—"
"Sorry to interrupt, but I don't swing that way. I already have Pepper, so I can't be with you!"
Tony suddenly chimed in, and Li Yue's expression instantly darkened.
"Get your head out of the gutter, Tony. Who the hell wanted to be gay with you? And after I went out of my way to bring unique gifts for you! You're not getting them anymore!"
Li Yue cursed at Tony, and then suddenly said to himself in a regretful tone.
"Unique gifts? Did you bring some new science and technology? What is it about?"
Tony's curiosity made him gloss over the rest of Li Yue's words and hyper-focus on the term "gift." There's no way that the unique gifts were anything other than new technology.
Tony was immensely interested in the things that Li Yue brought back, especially since he knew that Li Yue was wandering across other universe. Moreover, Li Yue wouldn't have brought it back if it wasn't valuable.
"If you want to see them, then shut the fuck up!"
Li Yue said to Tony in a bad mood.
"yes, yes, yes! I will shut my mouth. You guys can continue as long as you want."
...
The atmosphere fell into a strange silence.
"Uh, we have nothing else to say. We will go back to Kamar-Taj now. Goodbye, everyone!"
Mordo and Wong looked at each other and their farewell, before opening a portal back to Kamar-Taj!
