Loki watched from Asgard as Thor easily knocked down the Destroyer with the newly-awakened divine power. A thoughtful smile appeared on his lips.
"As expected! Father really did favor you the best!"
The cunning Loki had long seen through Odin's schemes. Why the Allfather had deprived Thor of the divine power, why he had kicked the God of Thunder out of Asgard, as well as why he had sent Thor to Earth. All of them were carefully designed to allow Thor to grow.
And Loki was just another gear in that scheme.
Loki sighed softly. He had sent the Destroyer to Earth to help Thor regain the power of the God of Thunder. He did not expect that there were people on Earth who could block the Destroyer's attack for quite a while. He was pretty surprised.
Loki thought that injuring Thor seriously would force the God of Thunder to regain divine power. But the Destroyer's attack was blocked by those people. He couldn't use the energy attack against Thor, the temporarily-mortal body might not be able to withstand it.
Fortunately, Thor had regained his divine power anyway, for some reason. And looking at the lightning around him, it wasn't exactly the same power as before he was stripped of it.
Odin's other purpose in this little scheme was to teach Thor that war would not bring peace. It would only end in more death and killing.
"But, father, there are other ways to end wars. In the name of Allfather, Odin, I will end this eternal war forever."
Loki wasted no time and headed directly to the Rainbow Bridge. He used the Frost Giant's Ice Casket to seal Heimdallr, the guardian of the Rainbow Bridge, before using the Rainbow Bridge to bring the king of the Frost Giants to Asgard.
Loki schemed everything meticulously, and the Frost Giant king Laufey trusted him. Laufey went directly to Odin's chamber, easily defeating the guardian within, Odin's wife Frigga.
"I've heard that you can still sense the situation around you while in your sleep. I hope that it's true! I hope that you know, the person that ended your life is me, the king of the Frost Giant, Laufey!"
Villains always had the tendency to make monologues, for some reason.
And that short monologue was often the time when the hero kills the villain. It was the same with Laufey. He focused too much on mocking Odin that he didn't realize Loki pointing Gungnir's spearhead at him.
Loki moved just a second before Laufey finally killed Odin. A beam of light flared from Gungnir's tip, sending Laufey flying.
"And the one who killed you was Loki, the son of Odin!"
Loki fired another shot, and Laufey immediately died. Loki had personally killed his biological father, just as a gesture to Odin that he would be loyal to Asgard despite his lineage.
"Loki, you saved your father!" Frigga exclaimed.
Frigga had only pretended to be knocked aside. She immediately stood up and rushed to give Loki a hug.
That's right, Frigga was just pretending. She was Odin's wife, there was no way she didn't see through Loki's scheme when she had immediately recognized the Fat Otaku Thunder God as his son from the future in Avengers 4. She was just playing along.
Frigga obviously also knew about Odin's preferential treatment between Thor and Loki, but she couldn't change Odin's decisions or tell him what to do. She could only balance out Odin's treatment with her own love for Loki. That was why Loki respected his mother so much.
...
On the rainbow bridge, the frozen Heimdallr heard Thor's call. He used all his strength to break free of the ice seals and killed the two ice giants that Laufey had brought along.
Heimdallr rushed to the Bifrost's control station and used his sword to open the Rainbow Bridge.
...
Thor was pleasantly surprised when Heimdallr finally reacted to his call.
"Jane, wait for me. I will definitely come back for you!"
"I'll wait for you, Thor!"
After feeding everyone around them with the saccharine-sweet lovey-dovey scene, Thor and the other Asgardian walked into the pillar of auroral light from the Rainbow Bridge. They immediately disappeared, leaving only a strange symbol on the ground.
A pang of emptiness rang through Jane's heart. She had a bad premonition.
"Tony, you guys go back first. I'll go take a stroll on Asgard! Don't worry about me!" Li Yue turned around and said to Tony after the Rainbow Bridge disappeared, before disappearing himself!
"Take me with you! I want—he's too fast," Tony yelled at Li Yue, curious about the domain of the legendary gods, Asgard.
Unfortunately, Li Yue already teleported away.
There was nothing that Tony could do. Li Yue's superpower was too far beyond what science could explain. He was really jealous.
Suddenly, Tony noticed the wreckage of the Destroyer that had been destroyed by Thor. His eyes lit up.
"You guys wouldn't object if I take all these, right?" Tony said arrogantly, his eyes focused on Coulson.
"No... Of course, I don't have any objections. These metals should belong to Iron Man!"
Coulson had thought about rejecting Tony, but he then recalled what had happened in Tony's villa yesterday. He changed his mind and let Tony take care of the metal.
He had just learned that most of the agents who worked with him were members of Hydra. There might even be Hydra's spies right here and now. It was better to leave this special metal from Asgard to Tony. At least it would not fall into Hydra's hands.
"Hello, Mr. Iron Man, would you please give me an autograph? By the way, I was also your fan, Captain America!" Daisy suddenly approached Tony and Captain America while Tony picked up the metal scraps from the ground.
...
Li Yue reappeared in the command post of Asgard's Rainbow Bridge.
Li Yue didn't find much difference between this Asgard and the one from the movies, but the movie couldn't really convey the massive size of everything in Asgard. The Rainbow Bridge itself was dozens of meters wide, and Li Yue couldn't see the other end of it with his naked eyes. Similarly, Asgard's territory reached beyond his sight in all directions.
A man at the bridge opened his abnormal eyes in disbelief when he saw Li Yue suddenly appear.
Heimdallr was very shocked. What kind of person could just appear on the Rainbow Bridge and look around? How did this person come to Asgard? And why couldn't his eyes see how this intruder had appeared.
Heimdallr was a dutiful gatekeeper of Asgard. He couldn't sit idly by when he discovered an intruder.
Heimdallr couldn't use his sword; it was still in the Rainbow Bridge's keyhole. He instead rushed towards Li Yue with bare hands, clenching his right fist, and jumped high in the air to knock down the person who dared to intrude on Asgard.
"Heimdallr, stop, he is one of us!" A familiar voice anxiously shouted just before Heimdallr's fist hit Li Yue.
Heimdallr heard the shout loud and clear, but he couldn't stop his attack even if he wanted to. He already jumped in the air, under the mercy of gravity. He could only hope that Li Yue wouldn't die in a single hit.
Of course, Li Yue would not take this slow attack standing. He disappeared in front of Heimdallr.
Heimdallr was shocked by the sudden disappearance, distracting him from the fact that his face was quickly approaching the ground.
"Thor, your Rainbow Bridge is a bit too slow!" Li Yue complained after he reappeared in front of Thor.
Blam!
"Argh!!!"
