Chapter 25 - Black King Attacks!

"Your ability is pretty cool. And you're skilled at it, too!" Erik praised Li Yue.

"Li Yue, I must apologize first. The day we first met, I tried to pry into your mind, although I did not succeed. I sensed a massive amount of mental strength within you, immeasurably stronger than mine, shielding your mind from mine. Do you know what I'm talking about?" Charles asked, confusion on his face.

Charles would not use his power on his friends, but Li Yue was not in that category, especially when they first met.

"Wait, Professor, how is it possible for Li Yue to have stronger mental power than yours? Doesn't that mean he was a stronger psychic than you? That makes no sense!" Mystique exclaimed in disbelief.

Li Yue also couldn't believe it. The professor was an Alpha-Level Mutant capable of eradicating all humans with the help of the Cerebro machine. Li Yue knew that his mental strength was above ordinary people, but he couldn't believe that he would be 'immeasurably' stronger than Professor Charles.

"I don't see how my mental strength could be higher than yours. My teleportation ability required some mental strength and physical fitness, but it was only a few times better than ordinary people's. The only thing that my mental power do is increase the size of the objects that I can teleport."

Li Yue explained the general situation of his ability, but he was actually a little unclear about his true power—especially after he copied another person's ability today. Li Yue hoped that Professor Charles' big brain would help him understand his own ability.

"Charles, are you certain about what you said? It's unbelievable that someone would have stronger telepathy than you!" Erik also thought that it was inconceivable.

At such a young age, Li Yue had a powerful teleportation ability. If his power to manipulate minds was stronger than Charles's, on top of that, there was nothing in the world that could stop him from doing anything.

Erik suddenly turned his vigilance against Li Yue. He would not hesitate to use violence against the young Teleporter at the first sign of trouble.

Li Yue had no way of knowing what Erik was thinking. He was instead wondering about the starry sky that he had seen twice; perhaps that inexplicable space was the reason for Charles' inability to invade his mind. Li Yue was somewhat glad. He didn't expect the good old Charles would play dirty like that.

Fortunately, Charles didn't succeed. Otherwise, he would've discovered that Li Yue wasn't someone from this world. If Charles became aware that he was a fictional character in a fictional world, he might just go insane.

Li Yue recalled that a comic actually explored this scenario once. The old Charles invaded Deadpool's mind and discovered that he was a character in the comic. Charles' psychic power went berserk from the realization and denial, hurting many innocent people.

Thankfully, Charles had failed, and that scenario remained in Li Yue's mind. The consequences would be unimaginable otherwise.

"Forget it. Let's discuss Li Yue later. The top priority right now is stopping Sebastian Shaw; I had no idea what he was planning," the female agent interrupted the interrogation of Li Yue.

...

Just like in the original movie, Charles and Erik went to infiltrate a Soviet military base, leaving the young men and women in the CIA base.

And like clockwork, Sebastian Shaw arrived in the evening with two of his subordinates: a mutant that can summon tornadoes and a red devil with an ability similar to Li Yue. Though, the red devil's ability was more restrictive than Li Yue's. For example, the red devil needed physical contact with the objects and people he wanted to teleport, while Li Yue didn't have this restriction.

"What should we do?"

The group of young men and women could only huddle around each other helplessly when they heard the screams, gunshots, and explosions. They were barely past their teenage; it's only natural that they were scared out of their wits when they experienced such things for the first time.

Li Yue also heard the alarming noise from his room upstairs. He used his ability and disappeared, reappearing in front of the group of mutant children downstairs.

"Li Yue, what should we do?" Mystique asked.

Mystique wasn't yet the ruthless murderer that she would come to be. The current Mystique was just a confused young girl trying her best to remain calm and make sense of the situation.

Since Li Yue had arrived without the same panic as the group experienced, Mystique could not help but to lean on him.

"Don't worry, I will bring you all to a safe place," Li Yue said before approaching the group and teleporting away with them.

...

"Wait here. I'll go back and take a look. I'll pick you up when it's safe," Li Yue told the group before disappearing again.

Li Yue returned to the base and found Sebastian and the crew mercilessly slaughtering the CIA personnel.

Li Yue decided to follow his heart. If he could save them, he would save them. If he couldn't save them, then it wasn't meant to be.

The situation became some sort of twisted game where Sebastian's team murdered everyone they could see, and Li Yue saved everyone he could see.

Li Yue went undetected for a while until the red devil in Sebastian's team noticed an anomaly: he sometimes heard gunshots but found nobody when he teleported to the source.

Azazel, the red devil, was simply surprised the first few times, but he wasn't a fool. He noticed something wrong and notified Sebastian Shaw that there were people that secretly saved the CIA personnel.

"Boss, there are people that are secretly saving the agents. They might be a mutated human with spatial abilities similar to mine," Azazel said after approaching Sebastian.

"Really? When did they find someone with spatial abilities? Azazel, can you detect their trajectories?" Sebastian Shaw was also surprised.

"Sorry, Boss, I can't do that. I wouldn't even know something was wrong if I didn't notice people disappearing around us. Their ability seems to be much better than mine; I can't find any traces," Azazel replied helplessly.

It had taken Azazel millennia before he could perfect his abilities, yet someone with even better prowess had appeared out of nowhere.

"Are you serious? They had a better teleporter than you? That's concerning," Sebastian Shaw replied in disbelief at Azazel's words. Azazel was his last resort; with Azazel on his side, he would be able to escape anything and everything.

"I want to meet them; maybe I can take them under my command. Tell Riptide to stand down. We will wait for them here!" Sebastian ordered.

Sebastian then shouted, "Friend, we are all the same. Let's come together and talk!"

One second... ten seconds...

A minute soon passed, yet nothing happened.
