Chapter 73 - Weapon Forging Completed

"It's actually called..."

"Hahaha! This is so much fun!"

A burst of laughter interrupted Li Yue's words. Thor waved the Stormbreaker around while flying in the sky, summoning sudden bursts of lightning and thunder that flashed all over the place.

The dwarves around them immediately evacuated, afraid that Thor's power would accidentally injure them.

Thor looked satisfied as he descended from the air and restrained his aura. The lightning around his body disappeared, and he slowly landed in front of Li Yue and Eitri.

"Haha, as expected of a weapon created by you, Eitri. It feels very easy to use, and my strength has become countless times stronger just by holding this Stormbreaker. Li Yue, with this weapon, I am no longer afraid of you. Let's spar!"

Thor praised the Dwarf King Eitri, waving the Stormbreaker and making whooshing sounds before confidently challenging Li Yue into a fight. He must've felt that his power had surpassed Li Yue.

"Haha, even though you yourself protested that it wasn't a hammer! Sigh, to be so easily abandoned, Mjolnir really had a cruel master. It's very pitiful!" Instead of answering the challenge, Li Yue teased Thor instead. The God of Thunder had finally regained confidence!

Thor awkwardly picked up the Mjolnir after hearing Li Yue's sarcastic words. He had thrown the hammer on the ground after the Stormbreaker had been successfully forged. He didn't even spare a second thought to it.

Thor felt a little embarrassed. Was he the kind of person that abandoned old things the moment he found something new? If Mjolnir could speak, it would definitely yell loudly at Thor: "Bah, you scum!"

....

"Li Yue, now that I have the Stormbreaker, what should I do with Mjolnir?"

Thor looked at his two weapons in a dilemma. He had ultimately decided to choose the stronger Stormbreaker and mercilessly abandoned Mjolnir, but he still wanted Li Yue's opinion on what to do with the hammer.

"Don't worry; you can keep it with you for now. I believe that you would find it a suitable master in the future!" Li Yue replied meaningfully.

Thor, on the other hand, was just confused by Li Yue's reply, but he decided to abide by Li Yue's decision.

"Alright, it's time to forge Li Yue's weapon. I can't wait anymore!" The Dwarf King Eitri interrupted the conversation, excited to forge Li Yue's weapon.

Li Yue's eyes immediately lit up when he heard Eitri's words!

...

Just like with Stormbreaker, Eitri took out a mold—or molds, rather, since there were two of them this time. One of them was smaller than the other, but not by much.

Li Yue didn't ask any questions. Eitri was the professional here, so unsolicited criticism would just be troublesome.

The materials were prepared, and then Eitri shouted at Li Yue:

"Brother Li Yue, are you ready? We are going to start!"

"Let's go!"

Li Yue couldn't help but respond with the same excitement.

Eitri wasted no more words and turned the lever. The immense rings rotated again, and another beam of orange energy shot out from the device around the neutron star into the furnace.

The temperature in the furnace reached hundreds of millions of degrees, enough to vaporize most matter in an instant. Even the incomparably hard Uru metal was not immune to the heat. The metal melted into glowing liquid in a matter of seconds.

Eitri carefully watched as the metal melted within the furnace before turning the lever at the right time. The molten Uru slowly flowed into the two molds that he had prepared.

"Quick, bring the spear shaft over!" Eitri shouted.

A dwarf immediately brought him a pole over a meter long. It glowed with silver metallic light.

This shaft was also made from the branches of the World Tree, but unlike Stormbreaker's handle, this pole was very straight. It almost looked like metal, with countless intricate patterns carved on it.

Eitri received the long pole and then broke the smaller mold, revealing two golden metal objects. They were still glowing red.

With another incomprehensible operation, Eitri connected the metal objects to the two ends of the long rod, clearly distinguishing the top and bottom.

Without any pause, Eitri shattered the larger mold, revealing a silver metal object that shone with a sharp light.

It was similar to the spearhead of a halberd, but it was also very different. It was flat, less than ten centimeters wide, and it was double-edged. Near the tip, the blade separated into three. The primary blade in the middle was the longest, and it was straight, similar to a regular spearhead. It emitted a cold light. The other two were shorter and curved outwards.

Eitri wasted no time combining the spear's shaft with the spearhead perfectly.

...

"Li Yue, quick, pour your power into this weapon!"

Eitri placed the finished weapon on the ground and shouted at Li Yue before retreating to some distance himself.

Eitri didn't know precisely how strong Li Yue was, but considering what Thor had said, Li Yue's power was certainly stronger than Thor's. It follows that the explosion of power from the bonding with the divine weapon would also exceed Thor's, so it was better for Eitri to stand back.

"I got it!" Li Yue replied.

Li Yue raised his right hand at the weapon on the ground. He then channeled as much blue energy as he could from the sky of his soul. An immense amount of energy began flowing through his arm and into his palm before shooting out as a dazzling blue beam at the weapon.

This was the first time Li Yue had used his own energy as a beam. No immediate effect occurred around him when the beam hit the weapon, but he kept firing the beam.

The weapon completely absorbed the blue energy that hit it. Its surface began glowing,  strands of blue lights flowing like water within it. Everyone watched the weapon intently.

Li Yue began to feel tired after dozens of seconds of maintaining the beam, but the weapon finally seemed to be full. The blue energy around it suddenly bloomed—it was even brighter than the light from the neutron star!

Li Yue stopped his beam. The weapon on the ground slowly floated from the ground, trembling.

"My blade—oh well, weapon, come to me!"

With a single thought from Li Yue, the weapon that floated in the air disappeared. There was no sound, and nobody saw its trajectory. It was like teleportation, as the weapon instantly appeared in Li Yue's right hand.

Li Yue floated to the sky, still holding the weapon. This was the first time that Li Yue properly flew instead of teleporting. He didn't really expect that the weapon would have this power.

"It's a good weapon!"

"Is this the so-called Shangbaoqin?" Thor asked Eitri, still unaware of Li Yue's joke.

"Hey, why does it look cooler than my Stormbreaker? It's even cooler than my father's Gungnir!"

Thor looked at the Stormbreaker in his hand jealously.
