As I look at the goddess, she flinch and whistles with cold sweats
"...."
"(I suppose I should expect this, this time, it's my fault for my stupidity, at such I will not further pursue this)"
With that, the Goddess reliefly sigh.
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
"And... done! That should do it."
°Thank you for your hard work.°
"Nah, don't mention it."
With the last preparation complete, everything is now ready. All that remains is to review the strategy using the simulations conducted by Makina.
"Well, that took some time. What's the time now, Makina?"
°Based on our world's timeline, the current time is 3:00 AM. The estimated commencement of the battle is at 5:00 AM.°
Based on what Makina said, it seems the goddess has inquired about additional information, and it also seems she is cooperating. With that, the upcoming battle is already foreseen.
"(As expected of Makina. I thought the goddess would keep quiet since this is literally her trial. Well, it seems I was mistaken.)"
°No, I did not inquire about any further information other than the time of the trial's commencement.°
Answering my thoughts—probably reading them through the active hive mind—Makina gives a surprising response.
"Eh? Why?"
°While I could have sought more information, my decision was based on logic and future utility. It is more valuable to gather real-time, authentic battle data during this trial. In layman's terms, gaining experience now is better preparation for unpredictable scenarios later.
I blinked, surprised by her reasoning.
"Huh. That's... unexpected. I thought you'd take the most logical approach and just ask for everything upfront."
°It may indeed be the most logical approach, but it prioritizes short-term efficiency over long-term growth. Future situations may not allow such easy access to information, so this trial is an opportunity to adapt and learn.°
Makina paused briefly before continuing.
°However, to fulfill my code and ensure your safety, I did confirm one critical detail with the Goddess. I asked if there were any conditions in which this battle could claim your life.°
My attention sharpened at her words.
"And?"
°Fortunately, the Goddess confirmed that your life will not be at risk unless you intentionally choose to fail or approach the trial recklessly. Even then, she assured me that she is capable enough to intervene and extract you from danger if the need arises.°
Hearing that, I felt a strange mix of relief and unease.
"(So, even in this trial, there's some safety net. Still, it doesn't mean I can afford to be careless.)"
°Precisely. That said, I suggest you take the next two hours to mentally prepare. Trust the groundwork we've laid.°
I glanced back at the preparation and fortifications I had worked so hard to put in place, now shrouded in the dim glow of the pre-dawn hours. The battlefield was ready, and so was I—at least, be ready as I could be.
"Alright. Time to focus. Let's see if we're truly prepared for what's coming."

At the horizon, at the end of my sight, light emerges from the horizon, illuminating the once dark sky, heralding the beginning of the turn of the day after the night.
As the sky is slowly illuminated, the figure where the light shines from appears slowly until the time it fully emerges, showing its brilliant figure, and this figure is the sun.
As if to serve as its halo, the image of the sun overlaps the figure of the knight position in front and center of the legion, high on its mount that wears brilliant armor and patterned fabric.
As if fully synchronized, the sun finally fully emerges as the knight raises its sword.
At that, the horse then stands high, resulting in a similar appearance to a painting of certain emperor called Napoleon
The knight held their pose for a moment, a living monument to strength and determination. Then, the horse landed and began to gallop forward, its hooves thundering against the earth with purpose and power.
The knight's sword dropped forward, pointing directly at me—an unmistakable sign of intent.
There was no mistaking it: this was a declaration of battle.
The first strike had been made, not with a weapon but with a gesture that spoke louder than words.
The fight has start
"Tch! What an amazing war cry,"
I muttered under my breath, trying to ignore the overwhelming grandeur of the knight's display.
In the chat panel, chaos erupted.
X>Ahh, we're back! Why did you guys turn off the stream earlier? I want to watch 24/7!
X>You imbecile! Of course they need to rest! Who streams nonstop? Nobody!
X>Forget that, let's focus on the scene! I gotta say, those knights are so noble and charming, I'm almost rooting for them to win!
X>True, but we have to stick with our fellow Earthlings, right? And hey, why don't we call the locals here Mysticians?
X>Mysticians, sound like Mexic-
(User 'X' is banned for using inappropriate context)
X>Go Earth! Go Earth! Go Earth!
X>Nah, I'm switching sides. Go Mystica!
X>Traitor!!!
X>Chatter etc.
X>Switching teams etc.
I sighed, letting the chatter play in the background while I turned my attention back to the battlefield.
"(If I remember correctly… the first step in Makina's simulation is… ah, right.)"
I turned toward the castle wall behind me. On top of it loomed a sight so absurdly out of place that it made me momentarily question my sanity.
Perched upon the medieval stone fortifications was none other than a German railway gun—Schwerer Gustav, to be precise—the largest artillery piece ever constructed by mankind during World War II.
The sheer presence of the colossal weapon, its imposing steel barrel aimed ominously toward the horizon, was both awe-inspiring and chilling.
The chat lit up in disbelief.
X>…At one end, we have noble knights fighting valiantly, and at the other, we've got WWII German artillery about to wreak havoc and destruction… This is....
X>You don't have to sugarcoat it! It's Maz—
(User 'X' is banned for using inappropriate context)
X>That's it. I'm switching teams.
X>Me too.
X>Obviously, the right side to support is clear.
X>User XXX is switching teams.
X>Users etc. switching teams etc.
I let out a small, bitter laugh. 'Traitors,' I wanted to say, but I understood. Deep down, I couldn't even blame them.
From a purely visual perspective, the sides couldn't be more mismatched. On one side, you had the image of chivalry: armored knights riding into battle with honor and valor. On our side? Well… let's just say the imagery wasn't exactly heroic.
The first time I saw the Gustav gun mounted on the wall after Makina's modifications, I knew this would happen. It was inevitable. The aesthetic alone was enough to drive people to question which side deserved their support.
But regardless of appearances, it was too late to back out now. All I could do was laugh wryly and mutter under my breath:
"This… is going to be a fight in another sense that unspeakable"
Well, leaving aside the aesthetics aside, there shouldn't be a problem dealing with them in terms of combat capability.
As I mused, my eyes shifted toward Makina, stationed at the heart of the medieval wall. She stood in her usual composed demeanor, surrounded by an intricate web of magical like circuits connecting her to a series of floating panels.
Tracing those circuits with my gaze, it became immediately obvious—they all converged at the rail gun. The glowing lines of magical energy pulsed rhythmically, their faint hum creating an eerie harmony with the faint mechanical creaks of the massive weapon.
It didn't take a genius to figure out the implications. At Makina's will, the rail gun would fire, and nothing in Mystica would stop it.
My thoughts were interrupted by Makina's voice, calm and unyielding, ringing clearly in my mind—an effect of the hive mind we shared.
°Analysis and calculations complete.°
°Fire sequence commencing.°
"Commence Fire"
The words hung in the air for only a moment before they were drowned out by the deafening roar of the Gustav gun, A Marvel form our world as it unleashed its first round and very first bullet into the world of Mystica.
