Synopsis
When new life is created, a soul carrying the sentience is created with it. And when that life ends, so does the soul. Some souls, however, are created with the ability to exist outside a body and regain memories to some degree. This allows those souls to inhabit a new body after death. Basically, they can reincarnate, but only if they manage to force out the original soul in the target body. As a soul lives through different lives, it slowly grows stronger. This is due to the soul growing along with the body it inhabits, regardless of how powerful it was when the body was first inhabited. A soul's power is quite limited by itself, but it affects whatever the soul inhabits and strengthens it through some non-physical means. In this novel, you follow Pritr, one such unique soul. Though Pritr isn't just any reincarnating soul, Pritr is the first to be created on Earth. And Pritr has grown quite powerful due to living so many lives. One day, Pritr finds life beyond Earth. _______________________________________ 'This is something the currently followed character thinks' "This is something someone speaks, who speaks is revealed in the context" This novel is written in 3rd person perspective, past tense. Chapter length is quite short, maybe slightly above 1000 words (though the prologue is much shorter). The main character, Pritr, will change pronouns based on the body possessed. When not possessing anything, Pritr will be referred to as it.

Chapter 1 - Prologue

A mouse scuttled along the undergrowth of the forest, its ears listening for danger. It was quite windy, and even the trees couldn't stop it from blowing in the mouse's face. In order to get back to its shelter, the mouse was forced to move against the wind, which slowed it down. And that could very well mean death.

The swaying of bushes caused a lot of noise, distracting noise. The mouse was constantly stopping at every slight crack, feeling for vibrations from potential predators hiding out of sight.

On one such stop, before the mouse could even notice anything was wrong, it suddenly died. A skilled cat had attacked from behind and killed it instantly.
