Chapter 10 - Information for Public Disclosure: Magic in the Kingdom

Due to the mutual defense treaty and several trade agreements the Kingdom of Runtallia shares with Elncrestia Theocracy– a small nation home to the most powerful mages in the continent– it has significantly advanced its pursuit in magical research, which had empowered both the Kingdom's economy and military. While the Kingdom provides the Theocracy with the resources it lacks, mainly food and manpower, the latter lends its magic casters and allows the sons and daughters of the Kingdom's nobility to study the arts of magic at the Grand Elncrestia Magic Academy, an institution for honing a person's skills at magic casting. Magic training costs a large fortune, thus it is almost limited to the nobility and Royalty. Also, not all people possess the faculty to wield magic. On a military standpoint, a mage has a value equivalent to a hundred foot soldiers. Essentially, magic is not only used for combat. It can also be applied in various fields of study like medicine for instance, in the form of healing spells and recovery potions. Oftentimes, magic is utilized in agriculture to increase the efficacy of crop yields through water and earth magic. But despite the relations being exclusive to the aforementioned nations, mages are by no means beyond the grasp by other countries of Neutomia. In terms of magical research, the Kingdom of Runtallia is considered second most advanced out of all the human nations preceding the Durfrenian Empire.
