Chapter 13 - ***Thirteen***

I opened the door from the cubicle and walked towards the opposite wall where a row of clean basin's stood waiting on my arrival. I looked up at the illusion that's staring back at yours truly. The me that's staring back is a complete mess. She looks like a night terror that came to life. Her makeup mixed together and painted unattractive lines across her cheeks. Her nose can easily be swapped out with Rudolph's. As the thought of his rejection crossed my mind; the illusion's bottom lip started quivering. I looked down at my fidgeting hands. The restroom's main door swung open, but I didn't pay to much attention to it. "Genevieve?" The person questioned. I turned my head and lost myself in a strange yet familiar gaze. Sympathy lacing her complexion. "Margo," I choked. She hadn't changed a day. She rushed forward and enveloped me in a tight embrace. I wept into the folds of her dress. She consoled me by rubbing her hand in circular movements upon my back. "Is he in a relationship?" I squeaked out like a little emotional mouse. I can feel her confusion by the sudden question. Her bewildered response confirmed it: "Who- oh, you mean my brother. Nope, not that I know off." I let my arms tumble downwards. "Then why had he rejected me twice?" I asked her at the brink of tears. She pushed me backwards slightly and gave me her full undivided attention. "HE DID WHAT!?" She cried out in shock. Margo informed me how she doesn't understand why he would reject me, seeing how he hadn't been with anybody since I've left. Notifying me that her brother had been broken up for years. Knowing that my father's actions had inflicted so much pain upon him pulls at my heartstrings. I swallowed down the unexpected lump that grew like a slow killing cancer in my throat, but to no avail. Even though the information she fed me about not understanding, sits awkwardly with me, it feels as if she knows exactly where he's coming from. Am I missing something here? "Its fine, I understand. In that case I can't really blame him for rejecting me. Could you kindly inform my brother that I'll be heading home?" I ended by asking her sympathetically. I can tell that she's feeling bad for me as the one word tumbled from her lips: "Home?" "Um yeah, I'm currently staying at the Pavilion. It's my home for the weekend," I answered. I passed her and on my way out of the restrooms; I bumped into Cassie. I looked up at her not giving a crap about my appearance. She eyed me worriedly, jolted around and said from over her shoulder, "I'll go fetch Giovanni."

A thunderous cry rolled in from over the distance. I looked up and see how a dark veil started covering up the afternoon sky, swallowing everything in its way. Strong gusts howl through the trees, forcing me to wrap my arms tightly around my body. At a slow pace I made my way over towards the SUV's and waited for Giovanni to come by. After a short moment he appeared alongside Logan. My dark-headed friend pulled me into a body-hugging embrace when he took note of the state that I'm in. "I'm going to fucking kill him!" Logan spat furiously as he balled his hands into tight fists. I whispered into the crook of Giovanni's neck in a shivering tone how I'm unworthy of his time. That's what the word rejection means after all. "Come again? He did what now!" Giovanni exclaimed in a pissed off tone as he quickly let go and started walking away. I grabbed hold of his wrist, "Please, just take me home," I pleated with a sob. He nodded in conformation.

***Misha***

Around the same time my sister returned, a commotion erupted amongst Gen's group of friends. Margo passed along a message to Shaun, to which I didn't pay much attention and left without as much as a look in my direction. "You've fucked up real good," he told me as Lesley joined his side. "What's a wedding without a little drama, babe?" she asked so nonchalantly. He just smiled down at his wife, always the optimist, but I can tell that something sits uptight with him. The commotion which had quiet down, somewhere along the line, flared up again when a few of Genevieve's friends returned to the reception. They had been AWOL for a little while. A dark headed man sped my way and shoved his hands in to my chest. "How dare you? Vivi's a fucking babe and you're rejecting her!" I smirked at the guy who rammed his fists into me for a second time. "Oh, so you're the one she's been screwing then?" Our word exchange caught much attention. He shoved me again; this is getting ridiculous. "What the fuck dude, I have a girlfriend? Vivi's my BFF; don't you stick up for yours?" I smoothed out my now wrinkled suit and gave him a sly smile. Before I could stop myself from falling through, I said the one thing that's sure to come around afterwards and bite me on the butt. "Well, let's be frank here dude, if I had such a hot friend like Genevieve Roberts, I would have fucked her senseless and be a happy unfaithful bastard." Another one of her friends stepped forward and connected his fist with my jaw. I spat some bloody saliva towards the ground and wiped my mouth with the back of my hand. A cute girl, shorter then Gen, wrapped her hand around the wrist of the man who used me as a punching bag, and said: "Just leave him be, he's not worthy of your time." She turned towards the dark haired man and folded her arms around his torso. So she's the one his been talking about. "I don't know what Geni even sees in you. On the outside you're a hunk there's really no denying it, however, within you're rotten to the core," she said bluntly. Her group of friends seemed surprise; guess she's not usually the one amongst them to speak her mind.

What a way to go, Misha, I scolded myself internally. If I haven't already felt like the jerk, I feel even more like the ass now. Shaun placed a hand upon my shoulder. "I know you didn't mean any of the shit you just spurted; but it might not have been the best course of action." I through my head backwards with a loud grunt before composing myself and dishevel my hair. In the meantime another guest joined our little twosome of friends. "Where's your sister?" Shaun's father asked him. He answered that she went back to the hotel where she's currently staying along with her friends for the weekend. "I'm glad that she wasn't here to hear that," he said. I looked shamefully down at my feet. I feel small underneath Uncle Timothy's piercing gaze. "There's an issue that I need to see you about. Would you be able to come over to the house tomorrow, say 11 o'clock?" He questioned. I responded with a nod.
