Chapter 28 - A faint figure.
I looked around the island excitedly as I left the dorms.
There was no one around and I was kind of happy as it gave me a chance to explore freely on my own.
I looked at the map and couldn't decide where to go first. "There's the academy, the magic shops in town, the gardens…Oh! How about the forest!" I exclaimed, there was a beautiful waterfall and all sorts of woodland creatures to find, so I excitedly followed the map to the forest.
I walked a long while before I finally reached the waterfall in the forest. It was pretty far from the dorms and academy but I wasn't worried as there is a magical barrier on this island which means no one suspicious can get in.
I excitedly explored, there were so many cute animals.
I saw a bunny, deer's and birds. I didn't approach them as I didn't want to scare them so I happily observed from afar. "This place is amazing…"
I looked over at the beautiful waterfall and I went over to it. The water was sparkling magically under the sunlight and I was in awe of its beauty.
"I wonder if I can step inside it…?"
I slowly took off my shoes and removed my stockings. "Ah! it's a little cold…" I laughed as I dipped one foot into the water slowly and then the other.
The cool water felt amazing against my feet and I walked further in allowing the water to reach above my ankles.
As I walked in further I couldn't see much due to the mist. "Maybe I should get out now…"
As I turned around I heard a splash from further behind me. Could it be a deer or a moose? I excitedly went over to see but due to the mist I couldn't make out anything but a faint figure.
"Maybe If i got a little closer…" I walked closer trying to see and soon I could see the figure of a person who was much bigger than me in size, in fact he seemed to be slightly taller than father too and I instantly froze.
The figure walks closer to me and I step back a bit startled, as it comes closer I can clearly see the muscular tall upper body of a man.
I can't tear my eyes away at the porcelain skin and muscular abs before me and my eyes subconsciously roam at the sight of his large shoulders and muscular biceps.
I swallow as my heart races and my mouth goes dry.
I felt entranced as I stood still not noticing the man had walked closer to me until we were only a few inches apart.
I finally get a clear view of his face and I'm speechless at his breathtakingly, handsome face.
His sharp purple eyes bore into mine and his matte black hair with white streaks that was cut into a mullet were dripping wet, the drops fell down his well defined face and strong jaw.
I couldn't tear my eyes away from him and felt butterflies in my stomach. His lips turned into a smirk and I melted under his sexy expression.
"You, know if you keep staring I'll start to blush…"
His deep, low voice sent shivers down my spine and I am bought out of my trance and immediately began stuttering to explain. "I-I-I-...."
As I look down in shame my face burns bright red when I faintly make out the shape of something long and large which then helps me notice this man is completely naked!
I look down at the size of the monster between his legs and Scream. "E-EEEEEEKKkkk!
I quickly turn and run out of the water, as I step on to the grass I slip and fall forward. I quickly stand up and turn back again blushing bight red! "I-I'm sorry!" I screamed as I fumble to grab my shoes and stocking and ran away from there as fast as I could!
The mysterious man stands still as he watches the mysterious beauty run away.
He runs a hand through his wet hair pushing them back and licks his lips mischievously. "Well…now I'm intrigued…"
His eyes burn with heat as he remembered the innocent blush on her face and how her beautiful eyes widened when she saw his member and growled low in his throat as he felt a predatory instinct grow within him.
He had been sitting at the top of the waterfall trying to clear his head when he heard a faint giggling tickling his ears and he looked down to see a small figure playing in the water.
Curious he tried to get a closer look but his leg had to slip and he fell into the water.
His robe had slipped off during the fall but he wasn't really bothered but her expression was definitely worth it.
He recalled when he first set his eyes on her and his heart stopped.
She had the most beautiful and delicate features. Her eyes were peculiar but mesmerizing. He remembered her small plump lips and took notice of her round curvy figure. It's almost dangerous how alluring she was to him...
I panted as I stopped running.
I had left the forest and ended up back outside the academy gates. "Haa…Haa…who was that…?" I remembered the gorgeous man standing in the waterful before me and blushed furiously.
I shook my head trying to erase the image from my mind "whoever it was I hope I don't have to see him again! How embarrassing!"
I looked around as I heard voices, students had finished their classes and gathered outside.
I felt nervous as I didn't know anyone here. "I think I'll go back to my dorm room…" as I was about to walk away I saw someone stood against the open window in the building and feeling excitement burst within me I forgot about everyone around and levitated to the window and stepped inside from the open window lunging happily at the familiar person. "Kodi!!!!" I hugged him tightly and he screamed "Waaah!!!"
I let go of him and he looked at me as though he had seen a ghost. "Why the hell are you here!?"
I frowned at his words. "Hey! Is that how you greet your best friend!?" His eyes twitched. "You're one to talk! You literally jumped on top of me!"
Kodi and I had kept in touch through letters and sometimes he would visit. Father, uncle and brother were always being quite troublesome when he came over but sister Kore handled the three of them and kept them in line.
Soon Kodi became a healer apprentice when he was 15 and then had left for the academy at age 18 and I haven't seen him since.
He has grown taller than me but hasn't really changed much otherwise. His style was still prim and proper and he and his hair combed back neatly. "Well, you look the same as always but older I guess!" He squinted his eyes at me.
"Is that supposed to be a compliment, also what happened to your hair?" I forgot he hadn't seen me with my short hair before. I laughed as I told him the story behind my haircut. "Brother had been giving me self defense training and there was a little incident with my hair…haha…"
I recalled the day I started my first day of training when I was 15. I stood outside with my brother, Morga and Evelyn. "Ok, are you excited for your first day!?" Brother beamed happily and I nodded my head. "Can I use that big axe!?"
The three of them paled at my words. "Haha…let's start slow…" I pouted at his words as he passed me some simple armor to wear. "Now you want to wear your armor first!"
I was about to put them on when I suddenly felt my hair being tugged. "Huh…" I look over to my side and my hair is trapped in my brother's breastplate as he wears it. "Ok, let's start with a run to warm up!" I panicked at his words. "Wait! Dont-waaaah!?" Before I could stop him he ran while dragging me along. Morga and Evelyn both chased after us as they saw this "Lady Iridesa!" I screamed at my stupid brother who wasn't getting a single word into his head. "Stop brother!!!! Stop!!!! PLEASE STOP, MY FACE IS DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO YOUR BUTT!!!"
Brother finally stood still and I fell behind him. He looked around confused. "Did I hear something, just now?" Morga and Evelyn came running over to us, Morga quickly released me and Evelyn looked fuming as she straight up kicked brother across the face sending him flying. "YOU HALF-WITTED TWIT!!!!"
I laughed as Kodi looked at me speechless. "Afterwards father had reprimanded my brother and whilst he was doing that I gave him a second heart attack by chopping my hair short by myself in the bathroom…haha…I thought it would be a good solution…" He held his forehead as he listened to me. "You could have just tied them…" I flinch at his words. "W-well, it's fine! Miss Delphine sorted my hair out and it actually looks good so I kept them short!"
He sighed. "So how did you manage to convince your father to let you join the academy?"
My head dropped at his question. "I didn't."
He noticed my sullen expression and didn't ask any further. "I see. So do you know what class you're in? We all get assigned to one class for however long you stay here."
I passed him my timetable. "I'm not sure I haven't checked it yet." He opens the times table and his expression goes pale.
"What is it? Are we not in the same class?!"
He shook his head. "It's worse." I looked at him confused "Worse?"
He passes me the paper back.
"we are infact in the same class." I glared at him as he cringed at the thought of it. "You act like I'm a plague or something, you should be glad I'm probably your only friend." He flinched at my words. "You speak as though your not in the same predicament." I flinch at his words, he wasn't wrong.
"I'll take you to our lessons tomorrow morning. We'll meet outside the entrance." I nod my head "okay!" He looks at his wrist watch.
"I have to go and you should go and get your magic charm at the main office or you won't be able to attend class tomorrow." I had totally forgotten about that. "You forgot, didn't you?" I wince as he hits the nail on the head. He sighs "The magic charms are given to everyone as they help control how much magic your body absorbs. Before these charms were created by the academy mages, the mages who especially had high affinity would die out much faster which is why it's important you get one before you begin training."
I remember master Octavius explained this to me once when I asked why he carried his broken pocket watch around.
He smiled fondly saying it was his mothers and opened it to show me his magic charm inside, it was a bright red stone.
He explained to me more about them and mentioned uncle had worn his on a broach, it was a beautiful emerald green color.
I looked at Kodi curiously. "Where's your magic stone?" He pulled out a long chain from under his clothes and showed me a blue pendant hanging off it. "I had it put onto a necklace." I looked at it excitedly. "Now let's go get yours." He says and I follow behind him.
Kodi then takes me to the main office. "I'll wait out here. Inside you'll meet the headmaster Neville Orville and deputy headmistress Anita Armadillo. They will give you your magic charm."
I felt a bit nervous. I had heard that the headmaster of the academy was the strongest Archmage to exist. I felt excited to meet him but also nervous. I knocked on the door and jumped when it slowly opened by itself. Kodi ushered me in and once inside the door closed.
