The art of horse riding is one art that is very important but many werewolves couldn't learn because of how hard it is
Reason because horses and werewolves are said to be enemies. Horses are scared of werewolves and werewolves tend to eat them before ages come
When werewolves learnt that horses could be used as a good means of transportation from one place to another instead of expending their energy and reducing their strength which is becoming latent as years pass, they started keeping them as domestic animal
But then, only a few could ride them because of how hard the art is.
Every warrior or leading member of the pack is required to have a horse they can speak to so they won't have to start learning to speak other horses language.
Arthur hated the situation but he knew he couldn't blame Abelia, so did Elias, after all, she's a rogue, she never got to know that it is important to ride a horse.
Another thing Abelia didn't tell them is that it's her first time seeing a horse, talk less of hoping on one
But then, she felt a strange likeness towards the one Logan stood by, as if she understood it already
"Okay, you know what?" Logan said as he took a deep breath, reasoning how he was going to get her on top his horse without disturbing it's peace
"Hello" he said to the horse as he got closer to it's ear "I need you to allow her climb you, and I need you as calm and accommodating as possible, please" Logan said and Abelia couldn't understand why he had to say that to the horse
It's just an animal, right? Isn't it supposed to listen to higher beings?
The horse grunted and Abelia looked at it skeptically
Truth be told, it's tall and big and Abelia felt a bit uncomfortable with the size but still managed to feel like nothing could go wrong at the same time
"I need you to clear your mind and stay calm" Logan said to Abelia who nodded her head even though she didn't understand him
"Don't hold any negative thought too, he's not going to harm you" he said and Abelia just nodded to everything
Arthur silently cursed his situation though
"Can we just hurry, the rain is here" he said
"There's no need to rush, we're going to be riding through it nevertheless" Logan replied with a stern look, one that told Arthur not to pass orders around
Logan wasn't going to have another wolf talk like that to him in the presence of his mate, he felt the need to be the strongest male there ever was
There was a way Logan spoke his words and the aura he gave that made Abelia felt funny, that made her feel safe and submissive at the same time but just as it came, it left. It felt too strange that Abelia repulsed it almost immediately, while looking at Logan like he had two heads
"What was that?" she asked Maya who was busy swooning
'I guess I'm all by myself for now' she said to herself with a heavy sigh
Suddenly, Abelia felt Logan's hands around her waist and with shock wave of tingles that ran through her, she wanted to slap his hands off until he spoke to her
"Don't forget to ease yourself" he said calmly and silently
It sounded like only Abelia could hear and the thought of that made her stomach feel funny, a funny feeling she has been feeling since the moment they met
Her body listened to his solemn command and eased itself and before she could calculate what's going on, she was already in the and on the horse who was unusually still
The fact that Logan's horse didn't rush away, start neighing hard or even try throwing Abelia off of it shocked Logan, Arthur and Elias
It was the first time Logan's horse would be so obedient to other people's touch
Logan tried to reason if it was because he told it to calm down but deep down, he knew that wasn't it
Instinctively, Abelia brushed the horse's mane and in response, the horse wagged it's tail, and Logan almost laughed
It took him two years to successfully brush this horse. He even hated it to start with because he wouldn't have had to start training another horse if his original horse didn't die at war
Now the horse is betraying him and cozying up to someone he just met few minutes ago?
"Is it because she's beautiful? She's a rogue" Logan whispered to himself but Abelia heard
"So you think I'm beautiful" she said out loud and Arthur looked to Logan who looked from Abelia to Arthur to Elias before settling on Abelia
"I don't know what you're saying" he replied before mounting his horse "let's get going" he said
"Good" Arthur said and Elias led his horse to face the right path and led the way with Logan's horse going next and Arthur and his horse behind them
The journey had to be fast so each rider commanded their horses to increase it's pace by making sounds and clapping their legs around their horse
And after they reached a certain velocity, they maneuvered their way from trees to trees
Being in such close proximity with Abelia made Logan struggle with his self control though and for reasons unknown to him, he kept having to push down crude images out of his brain
'Focus' he had to keep telling himself but the involuntary bouncing movement the ride was making them have, the way his chest kept coming in contact with Abelia's back and the way her scent filled his nostrils kept making him lose focus
Abelia strangely felt at peace though. She felt a great connection to the horse which was in motion and she also felt a huge sense of protection from behind that just made her ease herself into the ride so much that she didn't have any idea she was affecting her ride mate and life mate
Before Logan knew it, he felt his whole senses awake and filled with lust and he just kept imagining the different ways he could toy with the she wolf in front of him, one who had absolutely no idea what she was walking into
About thirty minutes into the journey, rain started and it came off as light at first, making Logan encourage Arthur and Elias that they might make it to half the journey if they don't make a stop and they agreed, just for the rain to become heave few minutes later, giving the impression that it won't be stopping as soon as they thought
The horses started making sounds of disagreement with their rider and that forced them to make a stop at a big tree which served as a shed from rain, but had no effect against the cold that hit in waves
After some minutes of waiting for the rain to stop, which it didn't, Elias had to tell Logan of the shortcut he knew of
He didn't want to tell them about the route as it is along the town where a witch coven is based
