Thousands of years ago, The dark lord Azaroth had gone to battle against 7 other rank 6 when they ambushed him on one of his travels. That battle destroyed a little portion of the eastern part of the Central continent and created the eastern archipelago. The battle ended with the corpse of 2 rank 6 demons, a rank 6 Sun Elf, 2 rank six angel and 2 rank 6 dragons.
However, the dark lord was significantly injured, and he disappeared from the battle site before his body gave in to his injuries. It was unknown where he had gone, but all the races let out a relieved breath as they knew that the dark lord wouldn't be able to survive due to the Holy Curse that had struck him, even then they dared not touch his city or kill his subordinates since his death wasn't confirmed and only the gods knew what would have happened to them if he managed to survive.
But they were right. Even the dark lord's body couldn't survive the Holy Curse. He was merely delaying his death while his body decayed.
Before dying, he decided to turn his body into a skeleton in order to preserve his physique.
He preserved his soul in his throne since his soul was too weak to stay in the body because of the holy curse.
This was also the reason why he didn't try transferring his soul to another body as he wanted to do now.
At the end of his life, Dark Lord Azaroth returned to his palace as a skeleton where he turned the region into a death zone and sealing his city before going into hibernation to recover.
He hibernated his soul to preserve and recover its strength. Because of losing his body, his soul would be fragile. He wasn't sure how long it would take his soul to regain its strength, but he guessed that it would take nearly hundreds or thousands of years before his soul would regain consciousness.
Even with his death everyone on the continent knew his story, son of an elf and a demon which was obviously not consensual.
Abandoned on the street and later taken in by his old master.
Awakened his physique after gaining a treasure while exploring a ruin and becoming the leader of the eastern part of the central continent after defeating the dragon that previously controlled it, all at the young age of two hundred years.
He was used as both an example to motivate teenagers and a horror story to scare kids into being well behaved.
Although now his name has faded into annals of history books.
People who still knew about him thought the reason he turned his region to a death zone was to preserve and pass down his legacy which was why they had tried to explore Primus region but eventually stopped due to lack of survivors. But they couldn't be more wrong.

"Rex Luthor… He led a remarkable life until now." A voice sounded in the throne room. The voice laced with amusement although coming from Rex's body sounded slightly different.
"His memories will be helpful to know this era. But still, I never expected thousands of years have passed since my death"
The words were naturally spoken by the former 'Dark Lord Azaroth.
"His Soul is rather strong for a rank 2 being. It would be such a trouble to destroy his consciousness and fuse with the remnants of his soul."
As Azaroth read through Rex memories, he let out a sigh.
"How interesting, my territory has been degraded to nothing but a waste land." He grumbled in dissatisfaction.
He more or less understood the era because he had read Rex's memories.
The amount of rank 6 had increased compared to during his era where they barely numbered up to 100 and he took 7 of them with him to the grave.
In this era the rank 6 beings would probably number in the thousands, this might sound like a lot but when compared to the world population of trillions, it was minute.
Besides even the world mana concentration was getting higher and this could only mean one thing... this world was about to evolve to a higher rank.
"But still, this is interesting. Maybe this will allow me to enjoy myself." A smile broke out on Rex's face as he turned his head towards the Throne.
"Now… time to accept my powers." He raised his hands, and the mana gathered on his palm. Unlike the time when the real Rex was manipulating mana, the current Rex had a finer degree of control over his mana.
The credit for this could only be given to Azaroth's superior control.
The mana that Azaroth had gathered shot towards the Throne and it slightly shook. Suddenly, dark energy began to flow out from it.
Azaroth nodded slightly as he noted that nearly two-thirds of the Dark Energy he left behind had remained intact.He immediately sat down on the bones before dragging Rex's soul towards him to begin assimilation.
'With this I can probably reach the peak of rank 4 or perhaps rank 5 straight away. Haha…'
The dark energy was tied to Azaroth which allowed Azaroth to control it with the slightest effort. The robe and ring on the bones as well as the ones on Rex were removed.
The dark energy soon condensed into a cloud that filled the lower portion of the throne.
A dense energy went through the formation before moving up towards Azaroth's spot and melting the bone.
Azaroth allowed the liquidized bone sipped through his skin pores entering into his body and slowly merging with his current bones enhancing them.
Soon enough, his entire body was bathing in this dense Dark Energy.
This process would enable Azaroth to inherit his former 'War god' physique and bloodline which would cause a massive increase in his battle power and also give him an edge against other people.
Besides he would be working with something that he was already very versed in making it easier and faster for him to reach his peak.
However, just as this liquidized bone filled Azaroth's body, a small portal appeared in front of Azaroth.
Azaroth was stunned for a few seconds before he muttered, "another soul and ....? maybe blood but why gold even demons bleed red. Wait two souls, YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME?!" His mutterings turned into a shout.
