Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: Hard Floor, Can't Sleep

The sound of dripping water echoed from the bathroom, casting a tall figure on the glass door. Qingyan didn't notice this scene and absentmindedly dealt with personal matters on her phone. After a while, she heard the bathroom door open and casually looked up.

Si Yechen's hair was wet, and he wore a white nightgown. His whole body exuded a strong masculine scent. Just then, Qingyan's phone rang, displaying a long string of numbers, different from a regular mobile number. She shifted her gaze and calmly answered, "Yes?"

The person on the other end of the phone said something, and Qingyan walked to the balcony. "So?" she asked.

Before long, a pair of hands embraced her from behind, and Si Yechen's breath lightly tickled her ear, causing a strange sensation. He affectionately nuzzled the fragrance surrounding her ear, like an affectionate cat. Qingyan could feel his scorching heat, especially in a certain area, as she spoke to the person on the phone, "I understand. Alright, I'll hang up now."

"A man?" Si Yechen faintly caught the male voice on the other end of the call and became somewhat suspicious. The little girl had just seen him come out of the shower, and her gaze lingered for a second or two. However, as soon as the phone rang, she didn't even glance at him and went straight to the balcony to take the call.

"A friend," Qingyan didn't know why she felt the need to explain to him, her tone tinged with helplessness. "Let go."

"What kind of friend?" Si Yechen lowered his head again, breathing in the scent at her neck. This fragrance had a tremendous attraction to him. Embracing her fervently, he emitted a scorching breath, causing a peculiar sensation to surge through Qingyan's body.

"Just an ordinary friend," she replied. After all, they had been through life and death together for many years, so they could be considered close.

"So, is this friend important?" Si Yechen raised his gaze to appreciate her beautiful profile, becoming even more curious. "More important than me?"

"Si Yechen," Qingyan wanted to break free from his embrace, but he held her tightly. Her voice carried a hint of helplessness. "We've only known each other for a few days."

"For me, it feels like years," he said.

His strong masculine aura and the gentle tenderness unique to a girl blended perfectly, radiating an irresistible charm from within. It was so overwhelming that it nearly engulfed her.

"I'm thirsty," Qingyan pushed him away and went inside to pour herself a glass of water. Her face inexplicably turned slightly flushed.

"Where will I sleep tonight?" Si Yechen followed her, the restlessness within him not subsiding but rather growing more intense.

"On the bed or the floor, your choice."

"Bed." Si Yechen looked at her and extended an invitation, "Together."

"You wish!" Qingyan put down her water glass. Seeing only one pillow and a small blanket on the bed, and even no couch in the spacious bedroom, she instantly understood what was going on.

"Well, then I'll sleep on the floor." Si Yechen sat on the ground, offering her the only blanket and pillow. "I'm not sleepy, you go ahead."

At that moment, the serene and ancient handheld lamp, which emitted a Zen-like aura, ran out of power, plunging the entire bedroom into darkness.

Qingyan laid under the blanket and could faintly hear his gentle breathing.

Si Yechen sat by the edge of the bed, gently rubbing her hair. "Good night."

Qingyan's hand was held by him, and unknowingly, she drifted into a dream.

The next morning, sounds of washing came from the bathroom, and Qingyan gradually opened her eyes.

It was already bright outside, and the light seeped through the curtains, giving a faintly dreamy feeling.

After a while, the sounds of washing stopped, and a figure walked out. "Awake?"

She sat up in bed, her soft long hair cascading over her shoulders. Her innocent and lovely appearance made him involuntarily curl up his lips, his gaze gentle.

"Why not sleep a little longer?" He was still wearing the white nightwear from last night, but the masculine aura exuding from him blended with his usual noble and aloof presence, creating an indescribable charm.

Seeing him approaching step by step, Qingyan got out of bed and spoke casually, "I have to go to work soon."

Just as she took a step forward, her foot suddenly kicked something.

It was the leftover male nightwear from last night, rolled up as a pillow by Si Yechen and placed on the floor. Did he really sleep on the cold ground all night?

Qingyan couldn't express the feelings in her heart, unsure if it was guilt or unease.

At the dining table.

Si Hesong looked at the two early risers with a beaming smile. They looked so compatible!

He happily asked, "Why not sleep a bit longer?"

"The floor was hard, couldn't sleep," Si Yechen replied.

Si Hesong and Wen, the housekeeper, exchanged glances. They had a perfect opportunity last night, with the right timing, location, and people. How could this dense young man be so chivalrous and sleep on the floor?!

"Well, wasn't there a bed?" Si Hesong couldn't help but feel frustrated in his heart. Why didn't you lie on it?! Do I have to teach you, you blockhead?!

"The bed was for me," Qingyan raised her gaze. "Was the door fixed this morning?"

"Ah? Yes..." Si Hesong felt a bit guilty. In fact, he had someone unlock the door at dawn, but he didn't know if his daughter-in-law had noticed.

"Oh, I didn't hear anything," Qingyan sat down and casually ate her breakfast, seemingly not pursuing the matter further.

"Yan Yan, the power outage last night didn't scare you, did it? Grandpa doesn't know how the power supply equipment suddenly malfunctioned! I can assure you, next time you come, nothing like this will happen," Si Hesong said.

"Oh, it's fine," Qingyan already knew his scheme and didn't expose it.

Si Hesong looked at this sensible and well-behaved girl in front of him and then at his own thick-headed grandson, feeling a surge of anger.

Such a good opportunity, and he didn't know how to seize it!

After finishing breakfast, Si Yechen accompanied Qingyan to work.

Wen, the housekeeper, watched their departing figures and silently took out a girl's bag. "Master, the young lady forgot her bag."

He could have reminded them just now, but in order for the young master to have an excuse to return the bag to the young lady, he pretended not to see it.

He only spoke after they had left.

"Very good!" Si Hesong didn't expect Old Wen to be so clever. He expressed his satisfaction and said, "Let Achen deliver it to her later. It will be another chance to meet..."

"Master, you really worry a lot about the young master's marriage," Wen remarked.

"And so do you..." Si Hesong looked in the direction they had left, "After what happened last night, I don't know if Yan Yan would still be willing to come to my place... Will she see through my scheme?"

"What happened last night can be seen as a coincidence at most. The young lady is so innocent, she shouldn't think of anything else..." Wen replied.

"I hope so!" Si Hesong thought to himself. If the little girl doesn't come anymore, he'll have to feign illness... Sigh, it's so difficult because of his disappointing grandson!

Inside the car, Si Yechen looked at the girl beside him and recalled her appearance from last night wearing a shirt.

That fair face, enticing collarbones, and those long and slender legs...
