Dominic had lost all hope that the three of them would be a normal family. He didn't know when it started, but somehow, he just accepted that this family only had two endings. One of them was separation, and the other was the eternal misery of staying in a loveless marriage till death.
But looking at his wife and son sleeping soundly in the backseat, not even knowing they arrived home, brought this tickling bubble in his heart. They looked so peaceful and adorable. All the impatience and irritation that he accumulated for the day instantly disappeared. His exhaustion also magically vanished.
'How baffling,' thought Dominic, reaching his hand out to Heaven.
Just as his fingertips brushed the strand of hair on her side, a moan slipped past her lips.
"Mhm." Heaven furrowed her brows as her eyelashes fluttered open. "Dom?"
