As the news of Umbra's attack on the town spread throughout the kingdom, the Northern King became incensed with rage. Believing that Umbra posed a significant threat to his people, he ordered a thousand soldiers and ten of his best commanders to hunt down and kill Umbra and Elizabeth.
Umbra and Elizabeth were aware of the danger they were facing, and they knew that they had to be on high alert at all times. They stuck to the shadows, trying to avoid being seen by any searching troops or patrols.
However, the Northern King wasn't about to give up so easily. He ordered his troops to fan out across the countryside, searching every nook and cranny for Umbra, Elizabeth, and Luna.
As they moved forward, they encountered various obstacles and challenges in their path, including treacherous terrain, inclement weather, and dangerous wildlife.
As Umbra, Elizabeth, and Luna made their way through the wilderness, they encountered a group of knights that had been dispatched by the Northern King to hunt them down.
Without hesitation, Umbra engaged the knights in battle, using his dark magic to decimate them one by one. Elizabeth fought alongside him, using her acrobatic skills to evade their attacks and strike back with deadly precision.
As the battle raged on, Luna began to feel the strain of their journey. Her feet ached, and she found it increasingly difficult to keep up with the adults.
Umbra knew that they couldn't slow down, but he also couldn't let Luna suffer. With a wave of his hand, he summoned a dark horse from the underworld, telling it to carry Luna and keep her safe.
Luna was thrilled at the sight of the horse, and she eagerly climbed aboard, wrapping her arms around its neck. Umbra and Elizabeth watched as the horse carried Luna away, and they continued on their journey, determined to protect her at all costs.
The journey was long and arduous, but Umbra and Elizabeth knew that they needed to keep moving forward. Promising to meet up with Luna behind the mountain.
As they traveled, Umbra took a moment to rest and catch his breath. "By the way, Elizabeth," he asked, "who taught you how to fight like that?"
Elizabeth chuckled at Umbra's question and replied, "When I was younger, my grandpa used to take me to a dojo. He taught me everything I know about martial arts and self-defense."
Umbra was impressed, knowing how skilled Elizabeth was in combat. "Your grandpa must have been an amazing teacher," he said, eyes full of respect.
Elizabeth smiled, feeling a sense of pride for her grandfather's teachings. "He was," she replied, "and I'm grateful for everything he taught me. It's helped me to survive in some tough situations."
Umbra nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude for Elizabeth's skills. He knew that he couldn't have made it this far without her by his side.
As night descended, Umbra and Elizabeth set up camp, knowing that they needed to rest and recharge. Elizabeth looked around at their surroundings, sensing that they were vulnerable to attack in this open area.
"Will Luna be alright?" she asked Umbra, voicing her concern for the little girl.
"Sure, she will," Umbra replied. "That horse I summoned also has a human form. He will take care of her."
Elizabeth nodded, reassured by the knowledge that Luna was in good hands. She knew that Umbra's powers were vast and mysterious, and she trusted that he would keep them all safe.
Umbra and Elizabeth sat down around the campfire, enjoying a moment of respite from their long and dangerous journey. They started to talk about their past, sharing their hopes and dreams for the future.
why did you become a doctor in the first place? Umbra asked.
Elizabeth smiled at Umbra's question, feeling grateful for the opportunity to open up and share more about herself.
"I became a doctor because I wanted to help people," she replied. "When I was younger, I watched my mother pass away from an illness that could have been treated if we had access to better medical care. It was a difficult experience for me, but it inspired me to pursue a career in medicine."
"I wanted to be there for people who were suffering and make a difference in their lives," Elizabeth continued. "I worked hard to become a doctor and I was determined to do my best to help others."
Umbra listened intently, feeling a sense of empathy for Elizabeth's struggles. He knew what it was like to have a painful past and a burning desire to make things right.
"You're a kind person, Elizabeth," he said. "I can see that you have a lot of compassion for others, and you're willing to go to great lengths to help them."
Elizabeth smiled, feeling a sense of appreciation for Umbra's kind words. "Thank you, Umbra. That's very kind of you to say," she replied.
As Umbra and Elizabeth continued on their journey, they knew that they were getting closer and closer to their ultimate destination. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, they caught sight of Luna up ahead.
Luna rushed towards them with open arms, overjoyed to see Umbra and Elizabeth once again. They hugged her tightly, relieved to be reunited once again.
"How was your trip?" Umbra asked Luna, happy to see her big smile.
"It was good," Luna replied excitedly. "The horse was so fast, and we had fun together!"
Umbra and Elizabeth smiled, feeling a sense of relief that Luna had been safe during their absence. They knew that the journey ahead would still be difficult and dangerous, but having Luna with them gave them a renewed sense of purpose and motivation.
Luna and Elizabeth looked at the horse in amazement as he transformed into a young lady before their eyes. She had long black hair and wore a red cloak that covered her from head to toe.
"Thank you for taking care of Luna," Umbra said to the young lady.
"It was my pleasure, my lord," the lady replied with a smile. "Luna is a delightful child, and I was happy to help her on her journey."
Elizabeth was still in awe of the transformation she had just witnessed. "What kind of creature are you?" she asked the lady.
"I am a servant of the underworld, I was created by lord umbra to assist him on his journey," the lady replied. "My true form is that of a dark horse, but I can take on human form when necessary."
Umbra introduced the lady as Yuki, his maid from the underworld. She was surprised to hear that the underworld was a different universe from the one they were currently in.
"I had no idea there were other universes," Elizabeth said, wonder in her voice.
Umbra nodded. "Yes, there are many different worlds out there, some that we have yet to discover," he replied. "The underworld is just one of them."
Yuki smiled at them both. "I'm happy to help my lord on his journey. It's not every day that I get to explore other worlds," she said, her eyes sparkling.
Didn't I explain to you that there are other worlds from this one? Umbra asked Elizabeth".
Elizabeth nodded in response to Umbra's question. "Yes, you did explain that to me. But hearing about Yuki being from a different universe, and being able to see someone from that world, just makes it more real for me," she said.
Umbra smiled, understanding Elizabeth's amazement. "It's always fascinating to come across things that we haven't seen or experienced before. That's one of the things that makes life interesting," he replied.
We need to go to the eastern kingdom since no one knows what we look like there.
Umbra's words reminded Elizabeth of the gravity of their situation. "You're right, Umbra," she replied. "We need to be careful and keep a low profile. The Northern Kingdom is a place where danger lurks around every corner, and we can't afford to draw any attention to ourselves."
Luna looked up at them, sensing the seriousness of their conversation. "What do we do if we're discovered?" she asked.
Umbra looked at Luna, feeling a sense of responsibility for her safety. "If we're discovered, we have to fight, Luna. We have to protect ourselves and each other," he replied.
Elizabeth nodded, knowing that they couldn't back down from a fight, but also feeling a sense of apprehension about the potential danger they could face. They continued their journey, keeping their guard up and moving cautiously.
Finally, after days of traveling, they arrived at the border of the Eastern Kingdom. Umbra and Yuki prepared to go ahead and scout the area, while Elizabeth and Luna stayed behind to rest and keep watch.
As Umbra and Yuki disappeared into the distance, Elizabeth looked out at the barren landscape, feeling a sense of foreboding. She knew that they were in for the fight of their lives and that their success or failure rested solely on their ability to work together and protect one another. Finally, she took a deep breath, steadying herself and preparing to face whatever came their way.
Elizabeth looked up as she saw Umbra and Yuki approaching them, feeling a sense of relief at their return.
Umbra started to speak before Elizabeth could say anything. "There's a safe house we can use. It's not too far from here. We'll be able to rest and gather our strength there before moving ahead," he said.
Elizabeth nodded, thankful for the reprieve. "That's good news. Let's make our way there as quickly as possible," she replied.
Luna looked up at them with a hopeful expression. "Do you think we'll be safe there?" she asked.
Umbra nodded reassuringly. You can go back to the underworld now Yuki I'll summon you if I need you.
Yuki nodded at Umbra's words. "Of course. Just call upon me whenever you need me," she replied before turning around and disappearing into the distance.
Elizabeth turned to Umbra, feeling a sense of unease about their journey ahead. "Are you sure that we're ready for this?" she asked, concern etched on her face.
Umbra looked at Elizabeth with a serious expression. "We may not feel ready, but we have to be," he replied. "We have to believe in ourselves and each other. We can't afford to doubt ourselves, not now."
Umbra closed his eyes and focused his magic on teleportation, feeling the energy surge through his body. With a burst of light, he and the girls disappeared from the spot and appeared instantly at the doorstep of the cabin.
Luna looked around in amazement, feeling a bit dizzy from the sudden movement. "That was so cool!" she exclaimed.
Elizabeth smiled at Luna's wonder, then turned to Umbra with a grateful expression. "Thank you for using your magic to teleport us here. We could have been ambushed on the way here," she said.
Umbra nodded. "We have to be careful. Our enemies could be anywhere," he replied.
Together, they entered the cabin, their eyes scanning the area for any signs of danger.
As they took a closer look around the cabin, it seemed like no one had lived there for ages. The walls were covered in dust and cobwebs, and the furniture was old and worn.
Umbra surveyed the area, his senses heightened as he searched for any signs of life. "It doesn't look like anyone has been here for a while. We should be safe for the time being," he said.
Elizabeth nodded, relieved but still cautious. "We should still keep our guard up. We never know when danger could strike," she replied.
Luna looked around with a sense of wonder, taking in the decrepit cabin with the curiosity of a child. "Can we explore the area, Umbra?" she asked.
Umbra hesitated, not wanting to put Luna in any danger. But he also knew that they needed to rest and refuel their energy. "We can explore a little bit, but be careful. Don't wander too far," he replied.
After a few hours of exploring the area, Umbra and Luna returned to the cabin, feeling tired but exhilarated from their adventure. Elizabeth had spent that time cooking dinner for them, and the smell of the food wafted through the air, making their stomachs rumble with hunger.
"I cooked a simple meal of roasted vegetables and grilled chicken," Elizabeth said, smiling at Umbra and Luna.
Umbra nodded appreciatively.
As Umbra took a spoonful of Elizabeth's cooking, everyone watched with anticipation. However, to their shock, Umbra suddenly fainted after tasting the food.
Luna gasped in alarm, "Umbra! Are you okay?"
Elizabeth quickly checked his pulse while Luna helped support him. "He's still breathing," Elizabeth said with a sigh of relief. "It seems like he's just unconscious."
Luna looked at Elizabeth with concern. "Do you think it was the food?" she asked.
Elizabeth hesitated, not wanting to upset Luna. "I'm not sure, Luna. It could have been something else," she replied.
As they continued to tend to Umbra, he slowly regained consciousness, groaning slightly. "What happened?" he asked, looking around in confusion.
Luna quickly filled him in, explaining how he fainted after trying the food. Umbra frowned, feeling embarrassed. "I'm sorry, Elizabeth. I didn't mean to faint. I think it must have just been the shock of the taste," he said, trying to make light of the situation.
Elizabeth smiled understandingly. "It's alright, Umbra. I know my cooking isn't the best," she said, feeling a bit guilty.
Umbra shook his head, determined to make it up to Elizabeth. "No, it's not that. I appreciate you cooking for us, but I think from now on, I should take over the cooking duties," he said, a determined expression on his face.
Luna looked at Umbra, feeling a bit confused. "Do you know how to cook, Umbra?" she asked.
Umbra nodded with confidence. "Yes, I do.
With Luna's well-being in mind, Umbra decided to take matters into his own hands and head to the kitchen to cook up something delicious with the ingredients he had found. With his experience, he knew exactly what to do and wasted no time in getting started.
Elizabeth watched with a sense of admiration as Umbra moved around the kitchen with skill and precision, concocting something that smelled heavenly. "What are you making, Umbra?" she asked with curiosity.
Umbra grinned mischievously, not wanting to spoil the surprise. "Just trust me, Elizabeth. You'll love it," he replied.
As Umbra continued to cook, the aroma from the kitchen filled the cabin, making everyone's mouths water with anticipation. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Umbra came out of the kitchen with a tray of steaming hot food.
Elizabeth and Luna gasped in surprise, staring at the food with wide eyes. It looked and smelled incredible, and they couldn't wait to dig in. "What is this?" Elizabeth asked, her stomach grumbling.
Umbra grinned, feeling proud of himself. "It's a surprise. I call it 'Umbra's Special,' he replied, setting the tray on the table.
As they started to eat, their taste buds were brought to life with a mixture of flavors that they had never experienced before. Each bite was a delicious symphony of spices and textures, and they couldn't get enough. "This is amazing, Umbra!" Elizabeth exclaimed, savoring each bite.
Luna looked up at Umbra with admiration. "You're the best chef ever, Daddy!" she said with a smile.
