Martin was overwhelmed with pain and bitterness upon hearing Sabrina's words; he felt completely numb.
The anger inside Mara intensified as she realized how long Martin had waited for Sabrina, only to be treated so poorly.
She couldn't decide if she wanted Sabrina to express her love for Martin, but hearing her express hatred towards him made Mara believe that Martin's wait had been in vain.
"You see, you've put us in danger by bringing her here," Mara yelled, while Martin supported her with pillows and sneered,
