Chapter 37 - Last Desperate Attempt

Park Min-Seo forcefully threw Hee-Joon aside, his attention now on Hyun-Soo who was running towards the entrance. "Hyun-Soo, watch out!" Hee-Joon shouted, horrified by the speed at which Park Min-Seo closed in on his friend.

Reacting quickly, the raider unleashed a Fireball attack, aiming it at Park Min-Seo.

"Fireball" shouted the mage.

However, instead of dodging, the imposter effortlessly held Hyun-Soo high in the air with one hand.

The Fireball struck Hyun-Soo, causing him to cry out in pain. Hee-Joon's heart sank, witnessing his friend's suffering.

"AAAARRRrrrghhhhhh" cried Hyun-Soo as a powerful fireball landed on him.

"Ke Ke Ke Kee, How does this look," asked Park Min-Seo who was enjoying the struggle.

Filled with anger and desperation, Hee-Joon closed the distance between himself and Park Min-Seo, relying on his agility. He knew that in close combat, the mage would be helpless.

[ Activate Double Slash ]

Taking a chance, he activated his skill, Double Slash, hoping for a critical hit to land on the imposter. However, to his surprise, the critical hit did not occur.

Instead, Park Min-Seo, holding Hyun-Soo with his left hand and wielding his sword with his right, swiftly deflected Hee-Joon's blades, causing them to fall to the ground.

He then used his sword to strike at Hee-Joon, despite the young boy's tender age. Blood spilled from Hee-Joon's wound as Park Min-Seo laughed triumphantly.

"Grakkkkkkk" cried Hee-Joon as he saw the sword had made its mark on his body.

Hee-Joon, still on the ground, launched an attack on Park Min-Seo's legs, managing to inflict a small cut. Though it was just a small cut, it succeeded in diverting the attention of the imposter.

"Heok" cried Park Min-Seo as he saw a small cut on his legs inflicted by a double slash from Hee-Joon.

In a desperate move, he pushed Hyun-Soo aside, who was bleeding and nearing the end. As Hyun-Soo was separated from the danger, Hee-Joon's focus returned to Park Min-Seo, who was seething with anger.

Observing the cut on his leg, Park Min-Seo grew infuriated and began relentlessly kicking Hee-Joon.

"Did you really think you could defeat me?" Park Min-Seo shouted mockingly. "Don't make me laugh. All this struggle for a single cut." And started kicking Hee-Joon who was still on the ground.

While Park Min-Seo focused on kicking Hee-Joon, the mage seized the opportunity and unleashed his most powerful attack.

"Flame Blast!" he shouted as a massive wave of flames engulfed Park Min-Seo. A torrent of raging flames erupted, engulfing Park Min-Seo in an inferno. The intense heat seared his flesh, causing him to stagger back, his face twisted in pain.

The imposter halted, crying out in pain. His face was partially burned, leaving him in agony.

But the imposter's suffering only fueled his rage. Disregarding his injuries, Park Min-Seo charged toward the mage with unbridled fury. In a swift motion, his blade sliced through the air, severing the mage's neck with a horrifying splatter.

"AAARRGHhhhhhhh" cried the mage as the sword touched his throat piercing inch by inch.

"Thuddd" mage fell down to the ground in one fell swoop lifelessly.

" No " cried the healer and Hyun-Soo as they saw yet another of his teammate fell to the ground.

As Hee-Joon surveyed the devastating scene, his heart sank. The lifeless bodies of his fallen comrades, including his leader Kang Min-Seo, lay scattered around him. Hyun-Soo, who had been struck by the fireball, lay unconscious on the cold dungeon floor.

Gritting his teeth, Hee-Joon mustered his courage. He knew he had to act swiftly and decisively. He approached the healer, his voice trembling but determined.

"Stand back and tend to Hyun-Soo," he instructed, knowing that their injured friend needed immediate attention.

With a deep breath, Hee-Joon tightened his grip on his dual blades. His hands shook, partly from fear, but also fueled by the burning desire for revenge and justice.

He steeled himself for what lay ahead, ready to face the monstrous Park Min-Seo head-on.

Hee-Joon's body was battered and drenched in blood, his stamina nearing its limits. Desperation and the burning desire to grow stronger fueled his every move.

Having relied heavily on his skills, particularly Double Slash, his resources were depleted. With only a meager 5-6 MP and around 50-60 HP remaining, he was on the brink of exhaustion and one hit from Park Min-Seo was not enough to end his life.

In a moment of clarity, Hee-Joon recalled the gold coins he had amassed, a small fortune of 2050 coins. Realizing he needed a lifeline, he swiftly made his way to his store. With his hard-earned coins, he purchased a low-level mana potion and a health potion.

As he exchanged the coins, the potions materialized in his hand. He wasted no time consuming them, feeling a slight recovery as the potions worked their magic. Though the restoration was not substantial, it provided a much-needed boost to his dwindling strength.

As the healer did her best to tend to the injuries amidst the chaos, Hyun-Soo, feeling a renewed sense of life, mustered his remaining strength and sprinted towards the gate.

"AAArghhhh" cried Hyun-Soo as he started running towards the gate and saw Hee-Joon desperately trying to hold off this monster.

Tears streamed down his face as he lamented his own weakness, determined to reach the entrance no matter what.

Park Min-Seo caught sight of Hyun-Soo making a desperate dash and taunted, "Oh, it seems you don't value the life I spared, do you?" As he moved towards Hyun-Soo who was making the escape.

However, just as the situation seemed dire, an unexpected turn of events unfolded.

Kang Min-Seo the leader, previously believed to be dead, suddenly gasped for air and regained consciousness.

Seizing the opportunity, he latched onto Park Min-Seo's legs and cried out, "Now, attack with all your might!" as the leader held him tightly, his mouth splitting out a handful of blood.

"You piece of shit, still alive, huh?" remarked Park Min-Seo, his surprise evident in his voice. "I suppose I'll have to take your head off then."

"Let go of me, you pathetic fool!"

Park Min-Seo struggled relentlessly, attempting to free his legs from the leader's grip. Frustrated by his failed attempts, he resorted to a desperate move - aiming his sword for a decapitating strike. As Park Min-Seo raised his weapon, ready to deliver a fatal blow.

[ Activate skill Flash ] shouted Hee-Joon.

In that Instant, Reacting swiftly, Hee-Joon activated his Flash skill, moving with incredible speed to position himself directly in front of Park Min-Seo. The sudden display of agility caught Park Min-Seo off guard, his surprise evident.

"What...? How is he so fast?!" thought Park Min-Seo confused.

Seizing the opportunity, Hee-Joon unleashed his final trump card, the Blade Fury attack. Though uncertain if a critical hit would land, Hee-Joon's current strength of 131 carried enough power to inflict significant damage.

Despite his exhaustion from the grueling battle and the scorching Flame Blast on his face, Park Min-Seo was also nearing his limits.

[ Activate Blade Fury ]

"Die, you bastard" shouted Hee-Joon.

As he made himself attack, just in time he saw another message pop up

[ Activating Critical Hit and Damage ]

As Hee-Joon channeled his strength into the Blade Fury, the air filled with the resounding sound of eight consecutive slashes. Each strike carried the force of his attack power, which stood at 131.

However, what made this assault truly devastating was the activation of the Critical hit, a rare occurrence with a mere 1% chance.

With the Critical hit multiplier of 10, the damage output soared to a staggering 1310 on the first strike. The subsequent slashes followed suit, multiplying in power with each hit.

The combined force of Hee-Joon's attack and the Critical hit was an unstoppable force, slicing through Park Min-Seo's defenses.

As Hee-Joon completed the onslaught, he beheld the aftermath - Park Min-Seo lay in multiple pieces, lifeless on the ground.

The realization that his attack had landed successfully washed over Hee-Joon, filling him with a profound sense of relief and accomplishment.

Overwhelmed by exhaustion, he collapsed onto the floor, his body spent from the intense battle.

As several messages popped up in front Hee-Joons eyes as they vanished soon after.
