The hospital
Sloane, Mackenzie and Nathan walked in, and all eyes were on them as they walked passed rolls and rolls of hospital beds, with Mackenzie pulling both of them by the hands. When Mackenzie finally reached Zuri's room, she let go of both their hands and knocked on the door
"Enter" they heard Priya's voice from inside and Mackenzie opened the door
Sloane was surprised to see Zuri's condition with her own two eyes and the smell of rotting flesh was quite disturbing as Nathan brought his hand to cover his nose and mouth.
Zuri was wrapped up in bandages with a tube strapped to her mouth and several IV drips attached to her while Priya stood to the side with a face mask to cover her nose and mouth, an apron and rubber gloves.
"How did this happen?" Sloane asked as she and Nathan walked in while Mackenzie shut the door and left
"According to the reports, she was in front of an explosive. She did use magic to protect herself, which caused a small part of her body to get burnt...but it didn't end her life" Priya said "Queen Rebecca administered first aid however, because of all the explosions going on, she had to leave Zuri with those at the King's mansion and head into battle. As time began to pass, they noticed Zuri's skin begin to rot, and the burn get worse. And after a day, she ended up like this"
"Kathy claimed her body was self destructing" Sloane said as she got closer to Zuri's body. "Can you help take off the bandages?" She asked and Priya nodded
"I can but, I don't think you'd like the smell" Priya said as she began to unwrap the bandages around Zuri's head. As the layers of bandages got closer and closer to Zuri's actual skin, it looked like Zuri's skin was coming off with the bandages which caused Priya to stop. "Any more and her skin will come off completely with it" she said while holding the need to vomit
"It's okay. The smell was getting pretty putrid for me too" Sloane said as she placed her hand on Zuri's face and poured her magic into Zuri's body. Zuri began to shake and scream as a ghastly black mist began to leave her body. The black mist was mixed in with a bit of red as Zuri continued to scream. 'It seems like removing her bloodline completely really is my only choice' Sloane thought as she absorbed the black and red mist.
After five minutes of Zuri screaming and shaking, it was finally over and Zuri began to calm down, as she breathed heavily. Nathan couldn't sense any demonic energy from her, but he could tell she was still alive.
'So, this is the unspoken power of a purified' Nathan thought while looking at Sloane
As Sloane took her hands off Zuri, Zuri's skin stopped self destructing and the disturbing smell disappeared. Priya at the same time, began to use the mana from her surroundings, to heal Zuri
"Change her medication. I'm done" Sloane said as she stumbled but Nathan held her up "Thank you" she rested her head on his chest
"I'll get to replacing everything. Thanks for the assistance" Priya said while Nathan left with Sloane resting against his chest

Christian had heard the screaming from his sister and ran into the hospital. He had been wondering where she had been for a while now but now knowing where she was, he kept hoping it wasn't true.
He ran passed Nathan and Sloane but didn't even notice as he barged straight into the room where Priya was changing Zuri's bandages
"Why wasn't I told of what was happening to my sister?" Christian asked angrily
"For this very reason" Priya said "For this very reason, Christian. This is a hospital for Christ's sake and you barged right in, without a care in the world and started acting foolishly"
"Foolishly? My sister doesn't even smell like my sister. What did you do to her?" Christian shouted but Priya continued to change Zuri's bandages
"Sloane took away her demon powers" Priya said "Zuri will never be able to use magic again. She's no longer a demon and you should be-"
"And she did this without my permission?" Christian shouted in anger before dashing out of the room to look for Sloane
"Idiot" Priya said with a frown

Nathan let go of Sloane when they were outside of the hospital, due to how uncomfortable she felt with all the stares they were getting.
"Are you sure you're alright?" Nathan asked while caressing her face
"Yeah" Sloane replied while moving her head away from his hand "My head just hurts a bit. That spell drained a lot from me....I'll only use it when necessary. If a time like this ever comes again"
"Let's head back to the mansion" Nathan suggested and she nodded but just before she could take a step forward, Christian barged out of the hospital and stood in front of her.
This single action had caught the attention of many onlookers and even Gard and Marcus who were already approaching had stopped in their tracks
"How dare you" Christian said as he tried to grab Sloane by the collar but she slapped his hands away from her and punched him to the ground which made him to cough up blood
"Are you crazy?" Sloane asked with a cold look on her face and her eyes glowing. It wasn't a question but more like a threat as Sloane grabbed him by the collar and brought his face closer to hers while his knees scraped against the ground. "What were you just about to do?" she asked
"How could you do that to my sister without my permission, Sloane?" Christian asked which only made Sloane punch him again before letting his body drop
"Who the hell, asked someone as stupid as you to become my Vampire Knight?" Sloane asked while dusting her hands "Have you even cared to look around you? People died....there are many who lost their loved ones and many who lost their homes. Do you know how lucky you are to have your sister alive? She might have to live as a powerless human from now on, but isn't that better than losing her completely?" she shouted "How can you be such an inconsiderate idiot? Walking up to me and shouting such nonsense in front of people who have lost the one thing that you still have. My mother's vampire knight never displayed such stupidity no matter what she did....that's what it means to be selfless. Isn't that what you were taught when you decided to become a knight?"
Christian kept quiet while holding his head down. He clearly remembered Josey's warning of receiving punishment from Sloane
"This is the first strike. If such an incident or a mess up far worse than this one, ever happens again, I'll take back the powers you were given when you became a Vampire Knight" Sloane said "That is how I'll punish you" she turned to Nathan and her eyes stopped glowing "Let's go" she said before they both walked passed Christian
All of the onlookers quietly went back to whatever they were doing. Even Gard, Marcus and the twins who had paused, could only move when Sloane and Nathan had walked passed them, and were out of sight. Christian clenched his fists before standing up and silently heading back inside the hospital.
"That's the first time Sloane's ever hit Christian with such a look in her eyes" Natasha said
"Lesson one about being friends with the head of an entire clan, something I learnt from my friendship with King Reese is, there is an invisible line you can't cross" Marcus said before looking at the twins "Before they are your friend, they are your ruler. If they give an official order, then you must keep in mind that you as the friend, can't go against that order just because you're friends. You'll still be punished if you break or fail to follow orders"
"It seems like only Nathan, my sons and Allen understands that law" Gard said before remembering others "And that human, Priya....that Timothy and the vampires, Fernanda and Alexa"
"The rest of you need to be careful" Marcus warned before he continued walking ahead "We've kept your mother waiting a bit too long. Let's go" he said and they all continued to the hospital
'Punishment comes when that line is crossed' Cassandra thought 'If that's how things are, what about Clark, Josey, Brianna and the rest? Do they understand that line?'
