Sloane's Subconsciousness
After entering the mirror, everything went black again and Sloane didn't know where she was.
'I've already accepted her. So, where am I now?' she thought 'This isn't the real world. I can't see anything. I can't move my body nor can I even see it. Did I die?' as if to confirm she wasn't dead, she heard a heartbeat and chuckled to herself before she felt herself get pulled and suddenly, there was light
The light came from the single lightbulb hanging above her head however, there were several strange people staring back at her. She had zero control over her body however, it was moving on it's own as she sat up.
'This isn't my body' Sloane thought 'And I don't know these people. It's probably a memory from the devil's blood...line' her thoughts almost completely stopped when she noticed the scenery
She was in a laboratory and there were several other children other than her. Some of the children were lifeless corpses while some were chained up screaming but the one thing Sloane noticed was all the blood on the walls.
Her emotions were completely connected with the owner of the body and she could feel the burning rage that didn't want to die as tears fell down the body's eyes. A woman rushed into the room; she was an extraordinary beauty with short brown hair, green eyes and reddish looking lips.
"Hailey" the woman shouted as she ran over and hugged the body
'H-hailey' Sloane thought and suddenly, she thought of her parents whom she inherited this bloodline from before remembering what Alexa told her about the Vampire's history. 'The owner of this body...is my mum?'
"How could your father do this to you?" the woman continued to cry
"Why are you crying?" Hailey asked "Isn't this what you and him wanted? To build a strong empire that other demons fear? I hate you. Both of you disgust me" she shouted before pushing the woman away and running out the door
"Princess!!"
"Your Majesty" people shouted to call her back but, as Sloane was only a spectator, she couldn't do anything but watch through the eyes of Hailey and listen to Hailey's thoughts before the world went black again.
When there was light again, Hailey's body was staring at the sun through the window and her thoughts flooded into Sloane's mind
'The only beautiful thing about this side of the forest, is the sunlight' Hailey thought with a smile 'I kind of wish I was among the vampires born in the past. The sun could burn me to ashes and I wouldn't have to endure this suffering'
The thought was enough for Sloane to feel her mother's suffering and Sloane could tell how much her mother wished for death. Her sadness, her anger, all of it was pouring into Sloane and trying to consume her. However, Sloane's will was stronger and the darkness was absorbed into her.
Someone entered the room and Hailey hadn't turned her head to take a look at the person before standing up from the bed and following them out. Sloane could tell that Hailey was crying and cursing at her own weakness before cursing those in the castle.
'I feel like crying. And I feel so disgusted' Sloane thought as she wanted to close her eyes but with no control of Hailey's body, her eyes couldn't shut. It was like she was being forced to watch the murder of those closest to her.
The person led her back to the laboratory where Hailey joined other children whose eyes were lifeless but were still alive and moving like dolls
"We will start the faze two of the test. Hope you're all ready" the person said before walking behind a machine
"I-I want to go home" one of the children said. The poor girl was already crying and begging with her head on the floor "I can't sleep at night....the screams....the screams never stop. I begging you..." someone walked over to the girl and kicked her
"If you have a problem with the experiment, talk to your parents who brought you here or talk to the King. Me too....do you think I like making innocent children suffer?" the person asked "If we all don't go through this, we're as good as dead. Can't you see that even her royal highness is going through the same thing?" the person gestured to Hailey "We're weak. We can only survive while listening to the strong. We'll begin the experiment now. No complaints" he picked the girl up to her feet and healed the injury he caused before heading to join the other people
"We've already implanted the devil's blood into you children. The ones that are here are what His Majesty calls 'the chosen ones'" another person, a woman, said "You'll now try to use the devil's blood in your veins to make contact with your inner devil. Begin"
Looking through her mother's eyes, she could see the whites of the other children's eyes turn black as blood began to pour down their eyes. Soon, Sloane noticed two of the children explode before her very eyes as the blood splattered on Hailey's face. The kids in the room were now down to ten along with Hailey which made eleven.
"This is a far better result than we had expected" the woman said "At this rate, we'll be able to give His Majesty better results. You kids can head on home now"
Hailey left the lab and went back to her room where a maid brought blood in a cup for her
"Your Highness, you are doing this for the sake of the kingdom" the maid said
"Kingdom?" Hailey repeated "I wish this place will be burnt down to the ground" she shouted as she looked at the maid and the maid gasped before running out of the room. There was an instant rush of power and Hailey didn't know what it was as she got out from bed and rush to her mirror.
Looking into the mirror, Sloane noticed that Hailey was probably in her teenage years. She also noticed the heart marking that found its way to Hailey's neck and the two small dark red horns sticking out from Hailey's forehead. Looking down, she noticed the solid black color of Hailey's leg as the clothes Hailey was wearing was being replaced by a blood red amour.
"What is this?" Hailey asked "It's like my bloodline ability....no....it's an upgraded version of my bloodline ability with the devil's blood" she mumbled as her body returned back to normal 'So, this is the type of thing my father wants. It's so ominous and it feels like my sense of reasoning is disappearing' she thought as her body reached the floor 'Somebody, save me'
'Stop. I don't want to see again' Sloane shouted but she couldn't voice out any complaints or close her eyes when she wanted to 'Stop showing me this'
It continued on. Sloane went through the same pain and heard Hailey's thoughts over and over again. She went through everyday of her mother's life and she felt like her head was about to explode from all of Hailey's negative emotions.
Inside of Hailey's body, Sloane learnt how to control the devil's bloodline. She learnt how to fight, and even learned about Xavier, Kathy and the other demon generals that served under her mother.
She could fully understand why her mother had killed Apollo and had a full view of the cruel demon world. However, her mother was empty and she could tell due to the close connection caused by the devil's bloodline. She passed by Hailey's hundred and ninety eight year old life like it was a long drowning torture. Then...
"King Alpha Reese would like to form an alliance with us?" Hailey asked while staring at the invitation card
"It seems like it" a woman said. She was in a large fish tank to the side and had the lower half of a snake and the upper half of a beautiful woman. She had teal eyes and her hair was blue just like the scales of her snake half and the ones running up her arm while a white top sat on her body. "The werewolf that gave this to me, he said that the King Alpha wouldn't bare a grudge if you refused. However, he did say, it would be beneficial for your race" she said
"A mere messenger actually had the guts to say that, Melissa?" Kathy asked
"The guy was kinda cute" Melissa said
"Something is wrong with you two" Xavier said
"Jealous?" Kathy asked
"Not at all. Werewolves actually came about from my side" Xavier said "To think they have developed so much. They're even strong enough to scare all the vampires"
"Scare?" Hailey repeated before looking at him "Our kind is terrified of them. Their blood and claws are still as dangerous to us, as poison is to humans. Although we evolved our problems with the daytime, the werewolves don't even need the moon to transform or use magic. They keep evolving and our race can't keep up which is why I feel like this alliance will only force our kind to extinction"
"It's that bad?" Melissa asked "But it says on the invitation that you can bring two guards if you'd like"
"Now he's just mocking us" Hailey said "Where is the meeting zone?"
"You're going?" Xavier asked
"It's in the neutral zone" Melissa said as she got out of the tank and just as her body was about to touch the ground, her snake half turned into legs as the white top became a flowing white dress
"The neutral zone?" Xavier asked
"Are you sure?" Hailey asked
"It's a peace signing, Hailey" Kathy said "Maybe you're over thinking things. But just to be safe, take Xavier and Melissa"
"I was already going to" Hailey said as Melissa snapped her fingers and Hailey's clothes had changed
"Good. You need to wear something nice" Melissa said "It's tomorrow and your closet scares me" she said which made Hailey frown
