Night had fallen, shrouding the castle in a velvety darkness. Most of the workers and the inhabitants, including the royal family, had succumbed to sleep. However, in the expanse of his spacious room, Prince Levi remained restless, engrossed in nervous anticipation.
"I believed I was prepared for this," he whispered to himself, taking a deep breath as he paused in his pacing. "Relax, you're the prince, and she's a maid. She has no choice."
A gentle knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. It was barely audible, but Levi recognized the soft sound immediately.
"Come in, Laura. I know it's you," Levi called out with a hint of a smile, trying to quell his inner turmoil.
The door creaked open, revealing Laura standing at the threshold, adorned in a serene blue nightgown that complemented her quiet demeanor. She seemed hesitant as she entered, positioning herself near the entrance of the room.
