She looked up at him, "Don't you hate me?"
"For what?" He asked.
"You know; for not telling you about my past sooner."
He smiled at her, "It was your story to tell, Mia. If you didn't want to tell me there is nothing I can do, but I am glad that you trust me enough to let me know this part of you. I feel so honored."
She couldn't believe he was just going to let her go like that. She hugged him tight, with tears streaming down her eyes. It felt so good not to keep any secret. She hadn't felt so free for a long time, but she finally did. "I promise not to hide any secret from you again."
He nodded. "We are partners. No secret from each other any longer."
She nodded with a forced smile.
He pulled her up slowly, "I have something interesting to show you."
Mia followed without a doubt in her heart. She had no idea when it had happened, but she knew she could trust Declan with all she had.
