Chapter 2 - THEM AND ME

Viana sat silently in the car, staring out the window as they drove down the highway. The events of the past few days were still racing through her mind. Her husbands' explanation that they were actually triplets, switching places to act as her husband, had completely stunned her. She thought she was losing her mind.

Zayden broke the silence by saying, "Viana, are you okay?"

She turned to look at him before replying in a monotone voice, "I don't know."

Zayn spoke up next, "We understand that this is a difficult situation for you, Viana. We're sorry we kept it a secret from you for so long."

Viana sighed and replied with a hint of sarcasm in her voice, "Yeah, I can imagine this must have been quite hard on you." Zavier laughed softly at this comment.

*Flashback of the Accident*

Viana was still lost in thought as the car zoomed by on the highway. She didn't even realize that something was wrong with the brakes until it was too late. Her father's panicked screaming, her mother's brave last actions to shield her from harm, and the sound of metal crushing metal all blended together into one loud cacophony.

As she lay under the car, barely conscious, Viana could hear people shouting and sirens blaring in the background. She could barely feel her own body as they yanked her out, but she knew she had to hold on tight to her mother. She tried to reach for her mom's hand, but it slipped away from her grasp.

"Ma! Ma!" Viana screamed out.

"Viana! Stay with me," Savina said between breaths.

"I'm here… I'm here… I'm staying," Viana replied feebly, clutching onto Savina's hand.

Savina took deep breaths-"I'm sorry for not believing you. When you turn 18 visit this address-"

"Ma no- No please!" Tears were streaming down Viana's face as Savina lost consciousness.

As the ambulance drove off with both of them inside, all Viana remembers is staring at the boys in black suits standing nearby while crying out for answers about what went wrong with their brakes
