Chapter 1 - Kadira

Kadira Benyahia lived in the small Algerian village of Al Djelfa with her family. She had always loved football, and herpassion for the sport had grown stronger with time. Kadira was only 15 years old, but she had already set her sights on becoming a professional football player.

Kadira's family was her biggest support system, especially her father Mubdream was to someday play professionally. Despite facing many challenges and barriers due to her gender, Kadira refused to let anything stand in the way of her passion for the sport.

Kadira's father, Mubarak, had always supported her love for football. He had been a football player himself in his younger days, and he encouraged Kadira to pursue her dreams even though society deemed it inappropriate for girls and women to play football. However, three years ago, Kadira's world was turned upside down when her mother, Hadya, passed away from cancer of the rectum. Kadira was devastated but continued to channel her grief into her football aspirations.

Kadira had three younger siblings: Prema, who was 13 years old, Omari, who was 10, and Ubaid, who was 9. Despite being busy with school and other responsibilities, Kadira would often take the time to play football with her siblings. She would teach them new moves and encourage them to pursue their interests, just like her father had done for her.

Kadira's best friend was a 15-year-old girl named Zahi. They had been inseparable since childhood and shared many interests. Zahi wasn't a football player, but she loved watching Kadira play and would often cheer her on from the sidelines. Kadira's other close friend was a 16-year-old boy named Imam. He also loved football and often played with Kadira and her siblings.

Kadira's family dynamic changed after her mother's death when her father remarried a woman named Jehan. Jehan was 77 years old and had no children of her own. Although Kadira was happy her father had found someone to share his life with, she found it difficult to adjust to the new family dynamic. Jehan wasn't as supportive of her football dreams as Mubarak was, and Kadira often felt like she had to prove herself to her stepmother.

Despite the challenges she faced, Kadira continued to work hard to pursue her dreams. She would often wake up early in the morning to practice before school and would spend many afternoons playing with her friends and siblings. Kadira's passion for football had become a way for her to cope with the loss of her mother and to navigate the ups and downs of adolescence.
