It was early in the morning when I woke up. I quickly took a bath in the hot springs and went back to the mountain range gate. After I got in, I didn't waste any time as I started flying in the direction my memory remembered.
That's why I learned the crows transformation first I need to get there as fast as possible since i don't want to by any chance miss the exam and I am not really sure as how far this is. When I found the ruins lost I time, I was entering through another gate that wasn't opened in the present.
I had to take breaks in between flights. I battled a few monsters that were near me when I was taking naps. And every time I could continue, I did. After five days the winds changed as well as the lands beneath me.
I was flying across a valley. It was mostly nothing but rocks, grass, and a few trees. I do not dare get close to the grass as it is full of poisones flowers.
I have to first find a lake. The lake will help me neutralize the flower fields poison. After a while of flying around, I found the lake that I was looking for.
I activated crows feathers' second effect that was ' light '. It made my body and everything on me light enough to be able to stand on water. I can't land on the grass around the lake.
I was a few meters above the lake. With full speed, I turned 90 degrees down, maintaining my full speed. I stopped right before crashing to the lake by speeding my wings to the fullest.
Ash landed on to the lake, sending small waves around him as his cloak was dangling upwards.
He looked out of place in his all black outfit that was closely sticking to his body, showing his lean muscles and slim body.
I got on one knee and started filling all the bottles I brought. It will probably take a while since there are a lot of them. While I was filling the bottles I took of the water, it tasted surprisingly sweet, and the lake was giving off a great aroma.
When I was about to take another bottle out of my ring, I sensed some mana fluctuations below me and instinctively jumped upwards while looking below me I a water tenticle that emerged out of the water with a great speed.
I tried to flap my wings to go upwards faster but to no use as the water tenticle grabbed my ankle. I took a deep breath since I knew I would be going underwater soon.
Just as I expected, I was now getting dragged somewhere by the tenticle. I tried to release myself from it as I knew I could only hold my breath to around two minutes under water.
After a while, I stopped struggling, trying to save my energy and look for a way to escape. When I finally became aware of my surroundings, I found out that I'm in some kind of tunnel. I was traveling underwater at great speed, and it still took a while to get to the place where the tenticle was dragging me.
After I was stooped being dragnet, I noticed the light above me, so I quickly swam upwards as I was almost out of breath. I emerged in some cave that has a pond in it. It was dark here, but the lightly shining crystal walls were enough to brighten this place up.
I didn't examine my soundings any further as my first prayority was catching my breath as I almost lost consciousness and drowned. I was coughing furiously, and it took me a while to look up.
When I did, I saw a water fairy. ' They are known to be mischievous, but they don't have enough power to pull me under the water. '
" What do I owe you to bring me all the way here ? " I asked as I eyed her.
" I'm the guardian of this ruin. I guard this ruins relic. But around two years ago it disappeared, " She said, staring back at me.
Seeing a fairy being a guardian quite startled me, but I didn't show it on my face. ' So that's why she was able to pull me under the water.
Guardians are naturally much stronger when they are near whatever they're guarding. '
And guardians always die if the thing they are guarding is stolen broken or pretty much anything.
I looked around one more time, and that's when I realized I was in the ruin where the relic that turned back time was.
The relic is gone, which means she just sealed bits of her soul here as her real body died. She won't last long in this salad state, and it also significantly weakens her.
As the guardian of the relic, she must have known what powers does that relic holds, that also means she figured out that the relic was used in another timeline and now it disappeared and there is a chance that the one who found it and used it will return here to chek it.
Still, for a relic that turns time back, she is too powerful. Even now, she probably only has 10%, if not less of her original power. Not to mention, if the relic is gone, it means she gets no additional boost when she is around her relic, and she can purely use her special ability that was granted by the relic.
" That's right, it was me. But still, are you really a guardian of this relic? You are too powerful even now in this form. It's hard to believe that a relic that sends you a few years back into the past can give you so much power, " I said, doubting her.
" I think you misunderstood the relic. The relic and this ruin are called lost in time for a reason. It's not that it takes you back a few years. It can take you to any timeline that exists. " She said camly
This time, I didn't bother to hide my shock as u stared at her with wise eyes. I guess status the only reason I came back to my 15 year old body and got all the memories with me means that i just got luckey. Trough there is a higher possibility that I will end up somewhere in this milenium. I'm still luckey as hell.
' This explains why she is so powerful, but if she is so powerful, how did I not hear about her, and why wasn't she here when I first found the relic. ' More and more questions flooded my mind.
As if seeing my confusion, she said, " The relic said that the world will get destroyed, and she doesn't wish to see that happen. That's why you were free to take it. As to how she knew, well, if she can send somebody's soul to any timeline, im sure seeing the future wouldn't be a big problem for her. "
" She ? " i asked as i didn't understand why she was referring to the relic as she and how the relic was able to communicate with her.
" Maybe you didn't know, but some powerful relics that were around for long enough can gain a consciousness. And she referred to herself as Timea, so I started calling her that too. " The fairy smiled.
When I saw that smile, I knew she thought of Timea as a friend, not as just a relic she had to protest to keep her life.
' Back to the topic, I guess I wasn't just lucky to send me back to my 15 year old body. The relic sent me there into the ideal time where it would be easier for me to save the world I live in. '
But there was still another thought lingering in my mind. " Then why are you here ? "
" Firstly, you can refer to me as Nata. That's my name. Secondly, do you know how guardians can give thayre special power to the next guardian if the original guardian is in danger ? "
" Yah ? " I answered Nata with a questioning look as I didn't understand what she was on about.
