Author's Notes
This chapter onwards I will try to describe how people, building, etc look to add more detail to the story.
As I was looking to the forest, I noticed all of the students expect Ralph were nervous but not scared. Ralph was looking a little bit over confident.
We were going in a formation. Zack was at the front. Rest of the students formed a diamond shape with me at the back. Ralph was taking the left point of the diamond and Victoria was taking the right point. We had to stop at multiple places in the forest to look for good spots to put security cameras.
We slowly moved till we saw a building.
The blue coloured building had two floors. The first floor had an electronic shop where we can shop for phones, headsets, air pods, earphones, etc.
The second floor had a another electronic shop where we can shop for security cameras, wires, LED lights, Lamps etc.
I said to Ralph, Lily, Leonard and Charlie "Ralph and Leonard, you both will go to the shop in the first floor and take everything related to communication so phones, walkie talkies and other things like that. Also take the necessary things for the phones to work. Lily and Charlie, you both go to second shop and take security cameras and everything necessary for the cameras to work. Vincent and Alan, you both stay here and guard. When they return all of you will go in diamond position with the transporters in the middle. You all will attach one camera here and attach some camera in the forest where I shown you before. After attaching you will go back to school and report the Scott. Now, rest of you let's complete the mission."
After saying that we broke down the diamond position and went into two seperate lines with me and Zack at the front. Marcus and Victoria at the back as they are the attackers.
We slowly walked without making much sound and suddenly we saw someone slowly walking to an alley. He was limping a lot as he walked and we all could smell his rotten smell with a tinge of iron. His dress was filled with dirt and blood. His skin was pale as a corpse. His puplie was slited. We all stopped walking and we were holding our breath.
Suddenly I broke out of the shock and said "Break out of it, you all are scared because of 1 zombie then how will face an army of them." After saying these words most of them broke out of the shock. Some of them took some time but they broke out of it.
I told them to stay back and cover me as I started walking towards they alley slowly. I then pressed my back behind the the entrance of the alley. I took a pebble and threw it into the alley. I understood it hit a wall from the sound.
The students watching curiously wondering what I was doing. I took another pebble and threw it in another direction in the alley. It hit something and I heard a small grunt of pain.
By then most of students figured out what I was going to do. I took my gun and shot at the zombie. I heard the sound of the flesh tearing as the zombie grunted out of pain. I was shocked as I saw the zombie limping and walking towards me with bullet hole in it's chest. I shot another bullet st the zombie. This time I shot at it's heart. I heard the same sound as I saw the zombie laying down dead with blood driping all over it's clothes.
I walked out of the alley and told them "The zombies won't die unless they are kill in one shot like the heart and the brain."
They looked at me, a little afraid but that expression changed into a determined one.
After seeing them like this I understood that they now knew life had not only sunshine and rainbows. It also had darkness.
I told them to get in the line formation. We slowly walked to the lab. My lab was not in the middle of the city. It was far away in a isolated place. So we met no zombies. When we reached there it was 12am.
The lab looked like a normal building painted with white colour and blue tinted windows. If there was no sign saying "ASHWORTH LABORATORY" no one would even realise this is a lab.
When we were walking in the lab, it smelled horrible. It was the same rotten smell but it was combined with smell of blood. We had to hold nose close as the smell was too horrible.
The place looked like a warzone. Blood stains are everywhere. I could see some dead bodies. The bodies where bitten in multiple places. All of us made a disgusted face. Some of us who couldn't handle it anymore puked. They drank some water and we continued walking.
All of a sudden I said stop as I could hear some people walking. We walked slowly not to alert the zombie and went to the room of the person who I believe created this virus, Arthur Maxwell. As I entered I saw a white rat rushing towards meet to bite me. I took my knife and swinged it with force. The rat was beheaded. I answered the doubts in their mind "In the lab, we test our vaccine, virus or anything we made with white rats. I believe this rat bit Arthur then the virus started spreading."
I took my white towel and the carcass of the rat in the towel, folded it and put it in my bag. I then told we are going back and I returned to the place where I killed the zombie. I took some samples while the students went to the weapon store all guns, bullets, bear traps and anything useful from the store.
After talking enough samples, we returned to the school safely. After reaching the school, all of them ran to the washroom and puked as they couldn't hold it in anymore. Seeing all of these could make someone traumatized but they held on. So my respect for them increased.
I walked to science lab and put the rat and and the samples under the microscope. I was shocked seeing the cells.
