Chapter 2 - The Idea

Suddenly I had a good idea. I rode my bike straight to Oakland High School. The school was isolated from the society as it was on top of a hill. The school had food and electricity and it is isolated. That place is perfect for living during a zombie apocalypse.

When I reached the school this time. I appreciated its beauty, it had tall walls to prevent students from skipping school. Now this will help prevent zombies from crawling this place.

When I was walking inside the school. I heard a voice calling me. I turned around and saw a teacher. I asked, "Why are you still at the school?". She replied "That ..man did -

Flashback

As I heard the speakers say those words I was terrified. I heard Mr. Adair saying to calm down and think what you should do before panicking and I just froze up like the others. Then I heard a student shouting WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE and all of us started panicking as before. I saw with the corner of my eye Mr Adairs running to his motorcycle. I saw Mr Nilson seeing the same scene. Mr Nilson then said, "Everyone calms down. Teachers give me your vehicle keys". Then he took out his phone and called out names

He listed out tons of names and asked them to follow him. He went inside the school bus and the students got inside. He then left the school.

Only after a few seconds did I realize what happened. The "kind person" who always promotes equality took the rich kids and escaped.

I then felt despair as I felt I would be killed by a zombie, all of a sudden I heard Scott shouting STOP!

"Stop and think about this. It's ok for us to live here for a while. We have food in the cafeteria. We have shelter and water. Most of all we are isolated. The zombies will probably follow people in the city.

Once in a while, we have to get out and get supplies from supermarkets. That's all we have to do to survive, so calm down.

We have to divide the students into groups to do things more efficiently. I will take a portion of students from the 10th grade. The rest of the teachers take a portion of students from the same grade as they will know each other and cooperate more easily".

When I heard him say all this, I was happy as the situation got controlled, he assigned all of the teachers a batch of students. I got a batch of students from 11th grade. Thankfully, There was no infighting among students. Scott also assigned tasks to groups such as gathering canned food, water, fresh food, and weapons. My group was tasked with gathering information via the computers in the computer lab.

The students understood the task and started gathering useful information about the situation outside the school and information about gathering food and water in the wildlife as we will soon run out of those resources.

At Least 1 boy in every group waskasks ust h headteacher section Will there be different types of zombies like in RPG games? Honestly, I am also worried if this will happen. if it does I hope there is not a sensor type of zombie who will find us effortlessly.

"As I was thinking about this, I saw you walking in the gate". "I had a feeling he was such a man. Anyway, what's your name? You haven't introduced yourself," I said.

"Oh, I forgot. My name is Abigail Palmer. I will take you to Scott." She replied a bit embarrassed. She started walking inside the school and I saw a student following her with a stack of books. We reached the staffroom and she knocked on the door.

I heard a slightly strained voice saying enter. I saw a 22-year-old who is reading something on his phone.

He looked surprised to see me. I explained myself and made it look like I was bringing supplies in case someone decides to stay. I asked him if could stay or not and he said he would agree if I give him some supplies.

I said I was ok with the deal and I gave him some canned food and water.

He then asked me in a serious voice. "Are you going to take responsibility for this zombie virus?". I asked in the same tone as him "What do you mean? I did not make this virus".

"Seconds before this virus happened, someone took a photo of a zombie coming out of your laboratory." He answered. I thought of which virus would have the best probability of this and I finally figured it out.

I then confidentially said "It was my colleague's side project that made this zombie virus. I told you about the virus which makes humans live without food, water and sleep. It has the highest probability of having high repercussions like this. So technically, it is not my fault but I will try to find the cure as without it we may not survive."

Both of them looked determined at that the second, the fourth person in the room spoke "Sir, these are the information that we found out about what's happening outside the world."

Scott then spoke a bit sheepishly "Sorry, I kind of forgot about you. You can leave the room." Scott's face then turned extremely pale. I quickly asked him what happened. He then said "You may have to work on the cure faster Mr. Adair. It seems like they posted on every internet and social media platform that they will nuke this place within 6 months starting now if we do not escape by that time. All of us will die here. We have lots of people at the school so we may not escape together. Let's go outside and help others calm down as they all probably know this as well".
