*Beep beep beep beep... beep-*
The girl who was under her blanket sat up abruptly, snoozed the alarm clock, with a sigh dumped herself in the same manner she was sleeping earlier.
'Here we go- Yes the cutie of my dream... propose me, yes yes!'
"AYO SLEEPY HEAD! WAKE UP ALREADY!"
It was enough to wake up a Koala from his deep slumber, it was just a girl named Luna we were talking about so it was obvious she would wake up.
"Momm..." She whined. "The cuti-"
"Huh?" Her mother arched her perfectly trimmed eyebrows at her as to challenging her to complete her sentence if she dares.
"The cuti-cle yeah I bit my cuticle so hard that it started to bleed!"
"Oh really? Show me then." Her mother asked her with a straight face.
"Mom you are so caring, it's alright, it doesn't hurt much, a-and I -I am a g-grown u-up girl I c-can take care o-of m-myself by the way what is for breakfast today?" she said hurriedly and even a fool can tell that she was trying to change the subject so that she don't make it obvious that she is hiding something but who believes that shit? Not her mother atleast.
'How can I blatantly tell my mom about the cutie of my dreams? I must have gotten sick in the brain after being single for so long, seriously.'
She looked at her mother with an innocent smile but it soon converted into an expression of terror by seeing her mother furious eyes that screamed DEATH!
"Mom! I am sorry I have wronged you by lying, I won't do that ever again, I swear." Luna said swearing on God.
Her mother stood and looked at her with an unexplainable expression.
'Why is my mom looking at me like I just cheated on her with another mom?'
"You don't know what I have been gone through to rise you, girl. Do you? Your father left us and I worked my ass off to give you all comfort." She said and sat down on her daughter's bed.
Luna cautiously went up to her and touched her back and said, "Mom... That was all in the past." Her lips curled downwards.
"And for how many years are you going to give me the same lame excuse for an emotional blackmail? You and I both know that Dad is out their for a reasearch, damn he just left a week ago, have you already forgotten?" She complained with a straight face, she is done with her mom trying to manipulate her.
She lived her entire CHILDHOOD thinking that her father abandoned them, until her fourteenth birthday; where he came himself to give her gift, thinking back-
--------
"My baby! You have grown-up so much, I wish I could come here sooner." A stranger hugged me as I was standing near the table to cut my birthday cake.
"Who the hell are you?" The sudden realisation hit me with full force and I said, "D-Dad?" my face scrunched up in disgust.
"Why are you here? Why now? I have lived worst part of my life without you so why are you here now that I am living happily?" I said slightly raising my voice.
All the guests and relatives were bewildered and they looked in every direction for my mother.
"Sorry baby, it's my fault, I forgot to send you expensive gifts when you were child but I have bought a limited edition iPhone for you today." He said looking excited and smiled stupidly.
'I want to punch his face till the moment he can never smile like that again in his life'
"Do you think I care about your 'expensive' gifts? I wanted you to be by my side all this time." I shouted with all the rage I was feeling.
"I know baby, it must have been hard for you, it was hard for me too." He said with sad eyes looking genuine. Genuine my ass.
"Hard? For you? Ah-huh you must have been living your best life with some woman and might have had children by now." I said scowling at him.
He looked at me like I just said that I, a girl, got a man pregnant. I had never seen a man so confused my whole life, I wanted to laugh so hard but the feelings I was feeling overwhelmed me.
"Baby, I think we have some misunderstandings betw-" He tried saying but I was in no mood to listen to his bullshits.
"No! Mother have told me everything you have done to us, how you got her pregnant at just the age of NINETEEN and left her when she was Twenty, you never even looked back on us, did you never thought of us? Are we really that low to be forgotten so easily?" I said grabbing his collar and shouting as my saliva got splat in his face, if it was some other time I would have cared but I could care less of my image right now, I looked up at him because he let me down, with tears in my eyes, nose running I said my last words before mom came running, "I won't forgive you, Dad." Putting emphasis on the word Dad.
"Anna? Didn't I asked for your hand for marriage when we were Twenty two? and I left for the reasearch of astrology, what is she saying, love? You know I love both you from the core of my heart to the sun and moon. I- I can never even think of having another woman by my side, let alone having children with her. Why is she saying that, and why is she saying that you told her that, sweetie?" His eyes were teary, I never wanted to rip someone's eyes off their socket so much.
He spelled my mom's name, Anna with so much love that it would make someone confused about their relationship but not me.
"Actually I did told her that." My mom said scratching her head, with a guilty look. The man stood there like his world just shattered into pieces.
Now I am starting to suspect things, this man- looks too innocent to leave a pregnant lady on her own.
"Why? I know you must have a good reason for that." He said smiling like a stupid little kid.
"Ah- I wanted her to be a good hard-working girl, so I told her that I am working hard for her to live a good life and that she should be standing on her own feet so that no man can make her feel down or inferior." She said looking righteous, like she was the most noble woman of the world and that she did the right thing.
I looked at her feeling all of my emotions starting to pile up, it took me some great amount of time to finally understand all of that damn shit.
My own mother blatantly lied about my innocent father just so I can be a good girl.
'What is this? A damn Bollywood drama?'
I never felt so embarrassed in my whole fourteen years of life than I did today, like I showed so many emotions and spouted some great nonsense- if looked from my father side.
I feel so stupid right now.
------
She shivered from her past memories.
Thankfully her mother didn't started lecturing her on how she shouldn't bring out the past and how she is her mother and blah blah blah...
She regained her memories which were kept hidden for years now, today was going to be hysterical she can already tell.
