Belle has already caught up with the most basic knowledge. The last two weeks have been him transcending from the library to meeting Sir Fenrir to talk about theories and other things. He is really good at using opportunities when given to him, and Sir Fenrir seems to love him always coming. Putting on his already modified uniform, Belle walked the walkway to the martial arts class. The hood added to the uniform has saved him from a lot of stares and has helped him blend into the background without standing out too much.
"Martial arts and ability testing are what I have for the day," Belle thought. The academy has helped set his courses after he crossed out a lot of things he didn't like and didn't see himself having talent in. Walking into the martial arts class hall, Belle went straight to the boys' locker room to change into his martial arts practitioner clothes. He would have loved if that had come with a hood too, but the martial arts teacher said that the hood would hamper his performance.
A burly-looking guy who was also changing said to a teenager beside him, "We spent two weeks just talking about basic moves without actually trying anything out." Another student replied,
"Not everyone knows those basic moves, so throwing more emphasis on them by Sir Iko wasn't bad." the student the burly looking teenager was talking to replied.
The burly-looking guy responded, "Who doesn't know how to throw a punch or kick?"
The other student answered, "It's not as simple as throwing a punch or kick; one has to learn when to throw a punch or kick."
Currently, there are six people in the locker room, including Belle. The burly guy then addressed Belle, "Only a brain-dead person wouldn't know when to throw a punch or kick. Hey, sissy, you even know that, right?" Belle looked at him, said nothing, and walked out of the locker room. To him, there is still a lot of interesting things to do than finding a fight with those who call him sissy.
After Belle left, one of the students said to the burly guy, "Do you know that guy is said to be the strongest of our set? He has some good clan backing him, so he know a bit more."
The burly guy replied, "Strongest? The top All Blacks students are already making waves. I bet he is only All Black by luck." Apart from Belle, all the other All Blacks were already making waves. They have long since started showing their competitive spirit and creating their faction among the students.
The student who knew more about Belle asked, "Have you ever asked his name?"
The burly guy asked "What is his name?"
The student answered,"It is Belle. He ranked fifth. According to my clan, he only ranked that low because he did poorly in the first stage of the exam, which is basic knowledge. The third phase of the exam was actually stopped because something went wrong, causing all the rhino monsters to run rampant. Surprisingly, all the rampaging rhinos ran toward his squad, and he took them all by himself until help arrived." The students in the changing room were shocked to hear this information.
One of them said, "Why did they rank him so low then? Basic knowledge is of no use. He should be ranked first."
The burly guy agreed, "Surviving against Ascendant rank even for a second should make him first." Another student added,
"Well, I think he isn't making waves in the academy yet because he is trying to catch up on all the basic knowledge. I've watched him for a few days, and he spends all his time in the library.
" The burly guy concluded, "The academy really did him wrong. Anyway, thanks for the heads up. I was about to find trouble with him because of his girlish looks. Hahaha! He has taken almost all the girls in the martial arts class. A bit of performance like being strong, and we will have no chance."
The student replied, "Well, I think if the Supreme Being theory is right, then he is partial to some people. I am heading out now."
Sitting with the other students and forming a circle, Belle was actually the only All Black attending a martial arts class. The others either found it useless or too stressful. To them, abilities covered their weaknesses for martial arts. Belle would have thought the same if not for his steady conversation with Sir Fenrir, who believes humans should try to have a good fighting art to fall back on in case they lose their powers.
Belle asked the others, "Is anyone interested in taking me on for a spar to practice all I have been teaching so far? We have spent two weeks talking, with me demonstrating, so I am sure even someone without knowledge would have picked up something. Hearing him, none of the students stepped forth. A showing against a fellow student would have gotten their competitive spirit high, but going against the instructor was a bit too much. "How about you? You are the only All Black here. I have high expectations for you and really appreciate you joining the martial arts class," the instructor said, looking at Belle. Seeing him look at him expectantly like that, Belle could only stand up. He didn't want to make waves in the academy, but this was a chance to learn.
"Good, only real men take up challenges. This is how we will do it: you will challenge me using your full power. Landing a punch scores you a lot of points," the instructor said before forming a combat stance, which Belle mirrored.
