Chapter 23 - BELLE

Watching the screen, everyone seemed a bit surprised. The spatial zone of the shanty town was rated as a catalyst level spatial zone. The three new rhinos were clearly at the Ascendant stage. There was no way the academy would have known about this, so now everyone was sure that the academy's plan might have gone wrong.

"They use earth movements, I see why they haven't been discovered. We should update our rating," the representative of the Guardians said.

"There is no way those kids will survive that. Only someone at the Ascendant stage with instant teleportation can reach them fast enough to save them," the Obsidian representative said. Despite the serious competition among factions and clans, he didn't want to see young ones being killed by spatial zone monsters, but there was nothing he could do.

"The priest has already left. Maybe he can cover the distance in time to save a few," said the Guardian representative.

"No matter how fast his light travel is, I don't think he can cover the distance in time for them not to be killed. I just think he is trying to cover the distance because he feels their boy has a way to keep himself safe until he arrives. The only hope for the other kids might be the academy people actually acting fast," said a woman who appeared to be in her sixties.

"Big sis, you don't seem very worried about your brother," the Obsidian representative said, looking at Elizabeth. He was quite observant.

"If anyone has a chance of survival, it should be him," Elizabeth said as she looked back at the big screen to see Bell and the others who had yet to land from their jump.

"I think the Religious Bigots' boy has a greater possibility of survival with that girl he is holding," a young man said from the other side. They all watched as wings appeared on Adam's back, making him look more like an angel. Adam's first ability was flight, so he had not just jumped, but had also grown his wings to avoid landing in the middle of the horde. Being weaker in strength, he had grabbed the first person he could, which happened to be Ellaine.

Boom! Rubble rose as the dust cleared up, and they saw Liana had landed first on top of a rhino, forcing the monster down before catching her twin brother. "Stay close," she said to him before dropping him. Chloe, on the other hand, had activated her powers, her whole body covered in flames while she was still in mid-air. This caused the rhinos, who should have been where she would be landing, to move aside.

As for Belle, it seemed like he would be the first to die. More rhinos were charging toward his landing spot. Humph! Belle harrumphed, his disdain for the rhino monsters and some unknown reason made him want to unleash his powers and end them allWatching the screen, everyone seemed a bit surprised. "There is no way those kids will survive that. Only someone above the Ascendant stage with instant teleportation can reach them fast enough to save them," the Obsidian representative said. Even with the serious competition between factions and clans, he didn't like seeing young ones being killed by spatial zone monsters, but there was nothing he could do.

Boom! Rubble rose as the dust cleared up, only for people to see Liana had landed first, on top of a rhino, forcing the monster down before catching her twin brother.

"Stay close," she said to him before dropping him. Chloe, on the other hand, had turned on her powers. Her whole body was covered in flames while still in mid-air, causing the rhinos that should have been where she would be landing to give way.

As for Belle, currently he seemed like the one who would die first. More rhinos were charging toward his landing place. Humph! Belle harrumphed, his disdain for the rhino monsters and some unknown reason made him want to let go of his powers to end them all. But he was trying hard to follow his humanity. "Hurting any more people might make me live in the dark forever. Elizabeth has already told me to take the first as a mistake, but I don't think I can afford a second time."

Bang! The first rhino monster collided with Belle headfirst immediately after he landed, puncturing a hole into his stomach and making him fly backwards.

Boom! Belle fell with a heavy sound as blood gushed out from his body.

"I don't really think he has the best chance of surviving," the Obsidian representative said to Elizabeth. Not that he was happy about Belle's situation; the attack was just too critical.

"He... He will make it," Elizabeth stuttered. She was totally afraid now, and the only thing going on in her mind was, "Why isn't Belle using his powers?" She didn't actually care if others died; she just wanted him to use his powers and survive. "He must be restricting himself. I need to talk to him." Elizabeth was in a bit of a dilemma about what to do.

Growling, all the rhinos seemed uninterested in the rest but charged at Belle, who was still on the ground. If nothing was done about the way the horde was moving towards him, he would be turned to paste from their stampede.

"Trash! A voice filled with disdain and anger was immediately heard, though it wasn't shouted, but it seemed to have sounded in everyone's mind, causing them all to look forward to see where the voice, icy and filled with a lot of killing intent, was coming from. They saw Belle's body being lifted up as if someone was using telekinesis to move him.

"That doesn't look like a flight ability. He has telekinesis," the Guardian representative said, a bit alarmed.

"He should not only be a telekinesis user. His ability to survive is off the charts," the Obsidian said. But then what happened to Belle next got everyone wide-eyed, looking at the screen and Not ready to miss a scene, Belle's body, lifted up by telekinetic ability, slowly transformed into a big white ape.

"Telepathy, transformation, telekinesis, how many powers does he have?" the Guardian threw out the question while looking at Elizabeth. He did not think Belle was the one who had used the Terra kinesis.

"Maybe he doesn't have telepathy," the about sixty-year-old woman said.

"If he doesn't, then he must be a crafty one, using such a method to root out people with bad intentions," the Guardian said.

"If it is like that, then most of these kids will be really too green for him. I wonder what he might have been through to be like that," The Obsidian said, looking at Elizabeth. To him, Belle is currently not enough to be his opposition, but if Elizabeth is just like they currently think of Belle, then another hard person to deal with has joined the fray.

Back in Shanty town, Belle had actually thought hard to come up with this. This was his only power that he was sure wouldn't endanger anybody, so he had decided to use it.
