As we all settled down in Transformation Magic class, Professor Sanderson warned us about the dangers of the complex type of magic. "You may get stuck as an object permanently," she said. "Transformation magic is a type of fairy magic, but throughout history, every supernatural creature began using this. Werewolves, for instance, used it to control their shifting," Professor Sanderson explained. To demonstrate, she waved her wand at an apple and turned it into a watermelon.
"Now it's your turn," she instructed us, waving her hand for elves and witches to clear their minds and think about what we wanted the apple to turn into. I followed suit, and soon blue energy surrounded my apple, transforming it into a watermelon. "Great job, everyone," Professor Sanderson praised us.
We then learned how to transform different things throughout the rest of the class.
In Types of Magic with Professor Moore, we learned about the different magic types, including fairy magic, elf magic, witchcraft, and fire magic. "Fire magic is commonly associated with vampires, as well as elves, fairies, and witches," she said, adding that there were different languages too. "In this class, we'll learn about different types of magic and languages," she added.
She then posed the question, "What is the magic language witches use to cast spells?" A witch in the back promptly answered, "Latin!" Professor Moore confirmed this and spent the next hour teaching us different spells and magic.
It was then time for our Magical Combat class. Professional Johnson explained that it was like a gym for supernaturals, where we would learn how to use offensive and defensive magic, hand-to-hand combat, and other skills from other professors such as Professor Martin, who was an elf, Professor Riggins, a fairy, Professor Walker, a werewolf, and Professor Bloodgood, a vampire.
Professor Johnson and Martin then demonstrated how to block and attack magic from other supernaturals. After they showed us their skills, Professor BloodGood and Professor Walker taught us how to do hand-to-hand combat.
I partnered with Iris, a fairy, at first, and practiced different magic techniques with her before doing hand-to-hand combat. Then I switched to Damon and had to catch his fireball and send it back. He even tried to trip me with his vampire power, but I got back up and pushed him back with my magic.
"Very impressive," Damon said as he got back up, walking towards me. We locked eyes, but we were interrupted. "Hey, half-blood," a familiar voice came from behind me. It was Eleanor Lemaire. "Me and you to a witches duel, one on one," Eleanor challenged. Feeling a bit nervous about the sudden challenge, I turned to face Eleanor. However, I didn't back down. "Alright then, let's do this," I replied with confidence.
As we stepped into the center of the gym, all eyes were on us. The anticipation and pressure in the room built up, and I could feel it. Eleanor and I faced each other, with a fierce determination in her eyes.
"Are you ready?" Eleanor asked me with a smirk.
Taking a deep breath, I nodded. "Let's go," I said firmly.
We both raised our hands and began to gather our energy. With each passing moment, I felt the rush of power coursing through me, reminding me to stay focused if I wanted to win this duel.
Eleanor launched a stream of fire at me, but I quickly created a shield to block it. I then retaliated by unleashing a blast of ice, which instantly froze Eleanor in place.
However, Eleanor was not one to give in easily. She broke free from the ice and summoned a whip made of powerful shadow, lashing out at me.
Determined to come out as the victor, I dodged her attack and countered with a bolt of lightning that illuminated the entire gym. Gasps of amazement rippled through the students around us as the lightning bolt struck Eleanor, sending her flying.
Despite the dramatic display of power, I knew that the battle was far from over. Eleanor and I both stood ready to continue the fight with all the power we could muster. As Eleanor fired her powerful spell, I stumbled backwards and fell to the ground. Despite the setback, the students cheered me on, which only made me more determined to get back up and fight.
Then, the lights flickered, and the gym fell silent as I got up. My eyes glowed blue with my magic as I unleashed a powerful windstorm straight at Eleanor. Although she tried to break free with her magic, it was no use against my overwhelming power.
I could sense the fear in the room as Eleanor asked what I was doing without even saying a spell. However, I didn't respond as my energy level surged, and suddenly, I passed out.
When I woke up, I saw a male student standing next to me, introducing himself as Noah Allen, a fellow witch at the academy. It was hard to believe that I had passed out during the battle, but Noah reassured me that it was nothing to be ashamed of.
The gym fell silent as Damon, one of the teachers, escorted me to the infirmary. It gave the other students a moment to contemplate their own power and what it meant to truly be a witch. Once we arrived at the infirmary, the nurse checked my vitals and gave me some water. He explained that I had used too much magic, which caused me to pass out. I thanked him for his help and asked about the aftermath of the battle.
Damon told me that Eleanor had retreated, and the rest of the students were in shock over the sheer power of my magic. I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride knowing that I had something truly exceptional.
However, I also felt a sense of responsibility to learn how to control my power, so I don't injure myself or anyone else. Noah, who had stayed by my side, offered to help me out with my training, which I gratefully accepted.
Over the next few days, Noah and I spent most of our time training out in the forest, away from the academy's watchful eyes. He taught me how to harness my magic and control my energy levels, which made me feel more confident in my abilities.
Eventually, I felt ready to return to the academy and show off my new skills. When I did, some of the students were still wary of me, but I could see the respect in their eyes. From then on, the academy knew me as one of the most powerful witches they had ever seen, and I knew I had Noah to thank for it. Noah quietly made his way through the concealed pathway, utilizing his telekinetic abilities to retrieve a worn book from its resting place. After flipping through several pages of ancient text, he came across a prophecy that caused his heart to sink. The prophecy spoke of a powerful being that would bring destruction to the entire world.
Noah knew that this was not something to take lightly. He hesitated for a moment, considering his options. But a part of him understood that he could not let this information simply remain hidden in the pages of a book. With a firm resolve, he reached for the pages that contained the ominous prophecy and tore them out of the binding.
He briefly gazed at the torn book before dropping it to the floor. Then he hurriedly made his way out of the pathway, clutching the torn pages tightly. He felt a sense of urgency to inform the other wielders of magic about the prophecy and to work together to prevent such a catastrophic event from happening.
As he exited the pathway, Noah knew that what he had done was risky, but he felt like it was necessary. He had no idea what repercussions the prophecy would bring or what would happen to him for defying the natural order of things. However, he knew that he couldn't just sit idly by and let the world be destroyed. He needed to act quickly and decisively to ensure the safety of all.
