Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : Memories and Death

As he weakly lay down in his bullet riddled body filled with monstrous lacerations from knifes and swords, he fumbled for his violin which was always strapped on his back while his blood still gushed and flooded the midst of a carnage of mutilated bodies to paint a beautiful picture of crimson red .He could taste and smell the sweet flavor and scent of death as it beckoned for him, now he became sure of it – Who ever said death was scary lied. The life of the legendary mute who only spoke through the music of his violin - Jason Varros was reaching a satisfying end but he was glad for he had purged all the vermin who had wronged him and Jimmy. He - a mute had bested them all.

His hands finally seized what he had been reaching out for - the black violin, the first gift from his parents. Although it was now a mess of strings and splinters of what was once a work of art , he still clutched tightly to it with his weak, bleeding and trembling pale hands for it was one of his most prized possessions. Being a mute had basically marked him as a lone wolf but in his solace his violin was always there, as it still was even while he welcomed death.

As his breath became ragged and shallow, his memories flashed by : He had been born with mutism but it had not really bothered him for his parents had showered him with so much love such that he did not have time to worry about being mute. His parent's wealth also ensured that all the other kids at his school flocked towards him and "licked his boots" all to try and become his friends. Ah! those moments.

Sadly, his parents untimely passed away when he was just 10 years old and from then onwards his life became downright hell. After his parent's funeral, his "relatives" had milked and scammed him dry of his parent's wealth and they had left him for "dead".

With only his parent's house and no other penny to his name, he had been forced to drop out of the mutism school and start begging for food. This went on for some time until one of his father's acquaintances - an old man called Jimmy showed up at his doorstep and "kidnapped" him.

As Jason recalled how the old man had changed his life, he let out a sad smile and thought "Old Jimmy, you sure messed me up for the better". Wait! The old man did kidnap me right? Or did I go willingly? He thought. But who cares? Either way that crooked old guy was a blessing to him. Ever since he was taken under the custody of Old Jimmy, he did not have to worry about food and other basic needs and that was everything he would have ever hopped for at that moment.

Old Jimmy's background was a little bit confusing at first to the naïve Jason. I mean the dude was a super-rich old man in Japan with plenty of businesses but he never showed off. Later, Jason also discovered that the old man also ran a mega criminal underground organization which put the Yakuza to shame.

So in the next 40 years after the "adoption" of Jason by Jimmy, he was given a private tutor to for his education, another private tutor for his violin theatrics and he also received combat training from the cream of the crop of the elite of the organization. The old man was only responsible for personally teaching him how to be a leader who was not only feared and loved by his subordinates but also a fiendish nightmare for his enemies.

So after his training:

- Military techniques and Covert operations – Check

- Hand to Hand Combat – Check

- Assassinations – Check

- Strategizing and planning – Check

- Violin maestro – a Big Check

In basic terms, Jason was forged and molded into a killing machine - a true monster. Hit foes even shuddered and wet their pants at the mere mentioning of his name.

He became known by many names, some called him The Mute Reaper, others called him The musician of death and others The Orchestra of death but the one thing they all knew was that all those who heard the sound of his violin were purged.

(Back to the Present)

As death swallowed him, he had a smile on on his handsome face while he hymned one of his favorite violin tracks - the "Forgotten Odes" which was composed by Bianca Ban.
