Chapter 20 - Hard time sleeping

Hailey walked back and forth in the room trying to process what had happened.

"Moses, why did you release her? Moses, you've only caused trouble for yourself, she's going to make you suffer, Moses. She's going to take revenge, Moses," she stated though the latter stayed calm looking at the window, one of his arms behind his back, he took a sip from his cup of coffee.

"Moses, are you listening to me?!" Hailey walked toward him taking a look at him, his face was expressionless though it was rather calm.

"Moses?"

"Nanny Hailey, there's nothing to worry about, why are you scared? Besides, you wouldn't have to go anywhere, I'll be the one at fault, that's all," he dropped his cup on the window and then to his bed, he took his laptop.

Hailey was dazed at his reaction though she wanted to inquire what was on his mind.

"Moses, don't tell me you're going to do nothing," Moses raised his head and snarled.

"What can I do?"

"Your company, what about it?"

"And what happened to the company? Did anything happen since I sent her back?"

"Wait, wait, I don't understand this any longer, then why did you let her leave? If you wanted to see who she was, her true identity then why? Who's she?"

"No one, Nanny Hailey, she's not a mate, a foe, she's nothing but a human. I couldn't do a thing to her maybe because she gots a strong head, that's why," he said and then he shifted his concentration to his laptop.

Hailey frustratedly heaved a deep breath walking away but when she got to the doorstep, she turned back.

"What about what she knows? Wouldn't she use it against us?"

"I don't know, is up to her," he said after stopping to take a look at Hailey.

It was midnight and when Moses recognized the time, he stopped his office activity on his laptop, took a bath, and then took a cloth in his walk-in closet, he couldn't deny the fact that Louis' scent was still in the closet, especially on the clothes that she had worn.

Reminded by her reaction when she got caught, his lips curled up a bit then he turned to his normal cold self taking a nightwear.

Getting to the room, he laid his head on the headboard of the bed, everywhere, dead silent but then Louis' chuckle began to echo in his brain.

Wanting silence, he remembered her emotional gestures when she watched a film in the theatre room.

He took the remote of the projector watching the film he'd watched with Louis, once again, her chuckle, laughter, and giggle echoed in his ear he had to turn to the side to discover that Louis wasn't on the bed.

He sighed knowing it was going to cost a long time before he could remove her gestures right from his head.

He switched off the projector and lay on the bed but then, the smell of her scent filled the bed, he turned to the side and the other side uncomfortably.

When he couldn't catch some sleep, he stood up from the bed walked to the couch, he lay there uncomfortably to catch his sleep.

"What's going on?" He started devastated by his torment of the big mess he had occupied for himself, this was worse than being in jail.

Louis' mother gave her some medicine to sober and then called Mike's driver to come pick him up. When he left, Louis went to greet her face goodbye right from the door of his room.

She took a shower and then decided to take a view of the night view of the landscape of half the city from the balcony.

It felt like a meditating calming treatment and feeling wonderful, she crossed her legs on the bench.

Her mum came toward the doorstep as she noticed the sound of her footstep, she turned to the side.

"Mum," she said with an excited smile and then she created space for her mother as she placed her feet on the bench, her mother sat on the bench and she moved closer to her mother, she placed her head on her mum's shoulder and then she was covered with the blanket her mother brought.

Her mum caressed her back as they heaved a deep breath in satisfaction.

"How do you feel?" Her mother asked.

"Comfortable," she said as her lips curled into a smile.

"We missed you so much."

"I know mum, I also missed you both."

"How was it there?"

"You know what, Mum, there was a big cinema room in his house though he doesn't use the massive house for his interest, they were a lot of movies I could stream freely but the rich hard-working man didn't want to make another interest for himself other than business," she said with excitement at first but then her vocals began to betray her as it went down making her mum realize she was only saying those as a cover-up.

"Did he hurt you? I know you're only saying that one to make everything look like everything was fine," Louis raised her head to look at her mother with a sad smile.

"You did suffer," her mother said in a sore voice. "Then darling why aren't you taking action against him for what he had done, what he did wasn't just simple, he took a girl from her family forcefully and made you lie."

"What should I do that would bring me joy, Mum? At least I'm with you, Mum. Even if I use the law against him and make him punished it wouldn't give me that kind of satisfaction I'm looking for. I just don't want to remember him and I want to live my life away from him. I don't want you guys to get affected by this matter. He's been exposed about his crime, he'll probably learn his lesson seeing the internet could pull and raise his company."

"You're being naïve."

"I want to, as long as it doesn't make my loved ones suffer, and besides, I'm the only one who knows who he's truly like."

"What do you mean?"

"I've been closer to him Mum, more than anyone and I've seen his true sides." She explained and then she laid her head on her mum's shoulder taking a look at the city view.
