Chapter 12 - Shrine

"What's your name girl?" One of the elders asked. He was the oldest one with a hoarse voice and a scar running down his face, making him look fearsome.

"Vyloria." She said as she looked at the elder.

"Good, so wanna join the Golden Bird Sect right?"

"Yes."

The elder nodded at her reply then he looked at Morgan's slumped body, he was still lying there. On the ground below the stage, people crowd around his body many murmuring about his receding condition.

The older guy thought that Morgan would get up as he was three levels higher than the boy, however when he squinted his eyes and looked closely, through the crowd he could he Morgan's face getting red as sweat trickled down his whole body.

"What the hell!" The elder quickly ran towards the man on the ground while pushing the crowd away through his cultivation, coming near Morgan he squared near him, taking his head in his lap he could see that his breathing was ragged and his armor started to disintegrate and falling on the ground.

'He is poisoned, I need to heal him quickly!' the elder thought.

Even Valoria and others looked at their facial expressions as ugly.

"He pushed someone from Golden Bird Sect to this condition!"

Some of the people took in cold breaths, Just imagining fighting with a ruthless guy like him sent chills down their spine.

Valoria looked at the elder with her eyes narrow, jealousy flashed on her face.

She wanted to be the best disciple to be recruited, however now this guy may cause a problem.

The other elder came near Morgan and took him somewhere picking him on his back.

Only the middle elder was left on the stand.

"Since our examiner has had some problems, we will stop the examination here now and will continue tomorrow." He said.

Everyone looked and nodded, this was the correct decision.

"No wait! What about me?" Valoria asked.

The elder looked at her and clicked his tongue.

She was a level ten at such a young age, she would be a perfect disciple.

"I will make an exception and take you in without a test since your cultivation according to your age is enough for our Golden Bird sect."

Everyone below the stage looked in amusement and envy, however, no one protested. As all of them knew Valoria.

She was a resident of Redwood City and also the daughter of the City Chief. There are even rumors of her connection with local city gangs.

It is said that she traffics children inside the city.

Gavin heard the murmurs going around and remembered that Lucie has told him about a red-haired girl, who was the boss of Fat Joe.

Clenching his fist he looked at the red-haired girl with disgust.

At first, he thought that she was an expert, trying to get into the Golden Bird Sect, however knowing her identity anger rose within him.

'This girl! So she is the one that buys kids from Joe! I have to teach her a lesson.'

Gavin burned her image in the back of his mind, as he wanted to teach her a lesson.

Vyloria on the other hand was angry with the old guy's decision, however, she agreed quietly. She wanted to show her strength to them, however, the blue-haired guy steeped in her desires.

Quietly receiving the spatial ring, she took a look at Gavin and left with a sneer.

Gavin also looked at her and clicked his tongue.

"I will teach you a lesson one day." He whispered.

The old guy came towards Gavin, listen young man you meet me here on this stage after five days when the selection process is over and I will take you to the sect.

Gavin nodded at his words. "Ok," he said and alos moved out of the crowd.

Now he wanted to increase his strength to defeat Valoria, although his pure strength was greater than Grade Eleven Martial artist, however, his combat ability was low.

I need to increase my combat power. As he moves through the crowd. His eyes suddenly landed on two people.

He stopped in his place for a few seconds and then continued to move. "So they have come here!"

He was talking about Village Chief and his father, both of them were in the crowd and Gavin knew the reason.

They were here to find him, however as his appearance was different, they didn't identify him.

A smile formed on his face, 'I am strong now! It's time to pay back!' he thought and moved out of the city.

He knew that they would need some time to search for him throughout the city and come back home.

"They would at least need ten days to go back to Village, time to teach that bitch a lesson."

Outside the City, Gvain's humongous body flew above the clouds and moved toward his home Village.

In just half an hour he landed in the wilderness outside the Village, and his appearance changed to the Shadowfury.

Entering the village he looked at everyone with a sneer.

"Hey look at that guy! He looks strong!" One of the guys said with a shocked expression.

"Yes, he has a cultivation base of level 8, obviously he is strong." Another guy said.

They were Roy and his friends.

Gavin looked at them and smiled. "Come here." He said to Roy.

Roy was flabbergasted by seeing a cultivator at the same agel as he who was on a whole other level broke out of his stupor.

"Yes senior," Roy said with a bow.

It was a custom in this cultivation world to call someone of greater power 'Senior,' even if they are at the same age as them.

"Can you guys tell me where the well of death is?" Gavin asked.

Well of Death was a popular place in their village, it was a spiritual place with a shrine to death god. And a 'well' below it.

Roy nodded at his words. "Yes senior, this junior knows about Well of Death."

"Good, can you guys bring me there?"

Roy nodded as his head moved like a rabbit, it was like he has found an opportunity to help someone of importance and he took pride in it. An amiable smile formed on his face as his chest puffed out with a gallon.

His hands were shorter than one would expect as he moved them outwards, his robe hanging from the other side of his hand.

"Senior please follow me."

The guys behind him looked at the man acting all proud and their lips contorted, their necks tilted forwards as they also wanted to help someone greatly.

Gavin looked at them and smiled, "Are you gonna leave your friends behind?" His thin white finger pointed at the crowd of puppy eyes. A smile gleamed on his face even his eyes were smiling.

Light began to shine on the faces of other hooligans as Gavin pointed at them, smiles moving on their faces as they raced forwards with hurried steps behind them.

"Senior we will show you the way."

Soon enough they reached the other end of the village, the place was gloomy, and even the voices of birds didn't reach there, green moss covered the whole area, and there was a relatively clean stone path.

A shire was standing in the middle made of white marble, a red gem illuminated at the top of the shrine roof and Gavin could even see a stone statue of a half-human half-dragon monster holding a trident in his hand.

The statue was placed inside a doorway with no doors. It was a small room in the marble shrine.

Surrounding the shrine were two lush green trees that gave a natural canopy to the whole area.

In front of the shrine, there was a well, made up of stone and cement, and over it stood an iron rod with a pulley that hung a corroded iron bucket.

Gavin could smell the moisture in the air, he has previously come to this place, it was the same place where the awakening ceremony held place and rarely anyone came around here.

He looked at Roy and the boys, and a smile crept up on his face reaching his eyes, blue light showing from his pupils, as a slow blue mist started surrounding the whole area.

"Have you guys ever seen God of Death?" Gavin asked, pointing at the statue placed in the shrine.

One of the boys opened his mouth to answer however air stayed in his throat as Roy interrupted.

"Senior, no one in this village has seen the God, but Village Chief once told me that he saw it in his dreams," Ron said as his hands moved descriptively. A proud smile gleamed on his face.

"Do you want to see him?" Gavin asked again.

It was only then, they realized that they were in the middle of the blue fog, the shrine that was previously visible to them could no longer be seen.

If one viewed it from an eagle's eye perspective one would see the guys standing in the eye of a blue storm.
