The night came upon the vast and majestic city of Mercurion.
The roads emptied with the coaches finding their parking spaces and the steeds taken into stables.
The people shut down their businesses and hawking stands as the streets lamps came alight, under the warm glow of the lamps they made their daily commute on the paved roads, taking in the scenery of the many statues and the exquisite fountains that dotted the streets.
Some boarded the last of the carriages, those who lived a distance away from their place of work.
As the city quieted and came to a still only the rushing waters of the Eldrith river released a soft hum as its waters rushed forward with a thin layer of natural foam, it cut across the vast city landscape and continued further on into the distance.
But across the river away from the key districts of the city new lights started to come alight.
