Alphea stared out the window of her carriage, her expression twisting between confliction and confusion, the trees of the forest rolling passed by her view.
"Eros what would you say is the biggest problem in the empire?" she asked glancing at him out of the corner of her eye.
Eros looked up from a book he was reading, his spectacles sat a little low on his nose, "I'm afraid that it is not my place to speak on such matters princess," he said in an attempt to avoid the question.
"I'm telling you that it is," Alphea crossed her legs and turned her full attention onto him.
Eros flipped a page as he met her intense gaze, "Very well, it is the conflict between the ancient families, all of them have a valid stake to take the throne and none of them wish to back down, they form alliances occasionally boosting one of the families up but as soon as they see an opportunity to bring their competitor down they don't hesitate to take it,"
