Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 Yongfu Village

Gu Yunshu and Gu Yunke were also a little bit reluctant to Madam Ke.

They were still a little bit sleepy when they first got on the carriage.

After waiting for a long time outside the city gate, they finally became energetic.

It was the first time for the two little ones to ride a carriage. The cushions under their buttocks were soft and there were door panels blocking all sides.

As soon as the curtains were lowered, the sun could not been seen.

"Eldest sister."Gu Yunshu leaned against the window and stared outside for a while, then he turned his head and said with a exited face, "Is Yongfu Village far away? Are there many people? Where will we live there? Do we need to build a house?"

"Why do you have so many questions?" Gu Yundong smiled.

Gu Yunshu smiled, "Big sister must not know either. It's okay, we'll know everything when we

arrive."

Gu Yunke was nested into Gu Yundong's arms, holding the peanuts that Madam Ke gave her in her small hands, eating them in small mouthfuls like a little hamster.

Mother Yang was holding a big bag in her arms, which contained clothes for a family of four, several sets of old and new clothings, shoes made by Madam Ke, and a large bag of cakes.

There were also two baskets in the carriage, which contained some of the things they bought in

Xuanhe City a few days ago. Although there were not many, they were all neatly packed.

Gu Yundong looked at the scenery changing little by little outside the window, feeling more and more expectant and excited in her heart.

Finally, we will have a new home.

The carriage was not very fast, and since there were two children in the carriage, comfort was the priority.

After a day of travelling, they managed to arrive at Fengkai city. Fortunately, they entered the city before the gate was closed.

It was getting late, Gu Yundong took her family to an inn to spend the night, and wait until the city gate opened the next day before setting off again to go to Yongfu Village.

Nie Cong did find a good village for them. Yongfu Village was almost two hours away from the

county capital, an hour from the closest town and three days from the capital. And this was only the time it would take by foot, it would definitely be faster taking a carriage or an ox-cart.

Therefore, when they set off from the county capital and arrived at Yongfu Village in carriage, it was still very early.

At this period, many people in Yongfu Village were busy in the fields. Almost every household was busy making breakfast and smoke was rising from their cooking stoves.

The children in the village were gathered in groups of two and three at the entrance of the village to play, when they suddenly saw a big carriage approaching, and they immediately ran up to them chattering.

Only two families in the village owned ox carts. Carts were so expensive that they couldn't even afford to sit on them, let alone buy them.

Now seeing the energetic tall horse, they immediately gathered around him curiously. Who was it? Why did they come to their village in a carriage? What was even more strange is that there was an hand cart behind the carriage.

The driver's speed suddenly slowed down. Gu Yundong opened the curtains and saw a child walking to the side.

She waved at him, handed him a candy, and asked, "Do you know how to get to the village chief's house?"

The child looked about the same age as Gu Yunshu, and his eyes lit up when he saw the candy, and his saliva was about to flow out.

Their village was not very rich, and there were not many opportunities to eat candy on regular days. Children like them could only get some candies during the Chinese New Year.

He nodded hurriedly, "I know, I'll take you there."

He stuffed the candy into his mouth and ran ahead to show them the way.

The other children were envious. If they had known, they would have run faster, and been the first to speak.

Gu Yundong lowered the curtains, but the next moment, she suddenly lifted them again, looking at the silhouettes passing by not far away. She felt some … familiarity.
