As a child, Rachel had loved her doll collection. She would spend hours playing with them, dressing them up, and talking to them as if they were real.
But now, as an adult, Rachel had come to fear her dolls. They seemed to watch her with their lifeless eyes, judging her for every mistake she made.
One day, Rachel decided to pack up her old toys and donate them to a local children's charity. It was time to move on from the past and start fresh.
As she sorted through the boxes of dolls in her attic, Rachel noticed something strange. One of the dolls - a porcelain beauty with long blonde hair - seemed to be looking at her with particular intensity.
Shrugging off the feeling of unease that crept over her, Rachel packed the doll away with the others and headed downstairs.
That night, as she lay in bed trying to sleep, Rachel heard strange noises coming from upstairs. It sounded like someone was moving around in the attic - but that was impossible. She had locked everything up tight before going to bed.
But then she heard something else - footsteps coming down the stairs.
Rachel sat upright in bed and listened intently. The footsteps grew louder and louder.
