Although I knew nothing of the magical abilities that Onyx spoke of I still chose to believe him. He said that we would try to open the book again this night because doing it during the day is very risky.
Right now I'm just walking aimlessly around the garden, which has proved to be my favorite spot in this new castle.
Whilst everyone is busy with moving back to the great castle, I was busy reading a good novel which I had found in the library. I was so engrossed in the book that I did not notice someone approach me
"It seems this book must be rather captivating" my Uncle Jude said with a smile. I returned his smile and curtsied.
"It's nice to see you again, still attentive as ever" he continued. I smiled and said
"I have really missed having family around"
"Look at me thinking you were surrounded by family" my uncle said tauntingly. I rolled my eyes at him and chuckled.
"You know how it is Uncle" I said in a knowing tone.
Actually my Uncle also knew about the ways I was and I still am treated in the family. He has always stood up for me but still no change so he decided to just be there for me instead.
" I'm sorry cupcake" he suddenly apologized. I was about to stop him when he continued
"I know you don't want me to but I really want to apologize. I promised to always be there for you but when you were still too young, I left you alone in the midst of wolves"
I shook my head slightly and took his hand
"Uncle what you did didn't make me weak or vulnerable,no, it made me strong and I will always be grateful to you for being the father I never had" I said gratefully.
He smiled at me and we both silently took I'm the view for a while before he broke the silence and said
"I want to take you and Onyx out"
"What about Olivia" I asked.
"It is an outing and we'll be hiking too, we know better than to involve Olivia" he said. He decided to take his leave after we had conversed on some things.
My Uncle has always been there for me, he was the parent I never had. It was he that trained me and gave me a leeway to study with Onyx when my mother refused to let me study with Olivia.
He had always lived with us until Five years ago when he suddenly decided to leave the castle. I always felt like he had a fight with my dad but I have a feeling that it's something deeper.
...…MEANWHILE IN AN UNKNOWN LOCATION ...…..
"Let me go!!!" Dinah screamed loudly.
"You witch let me go!" She screamed again. The person who was there with her was obviously annoyed by her tantrums so he slapped her and said
"Keep mute you old woman"
Before he could continue with his onslaught on Dinah another man walked in alongside the Queen(Beatrix).
"You thought we wouldn't know that you are still alive huh" Beatrix questioned Dinah, the other man just sat on a chair and crossed his legs.
"Well you were dumb enough not to notice it until now" Dinah retorted earning her a huge slap from Beatrix.
"I knew it, you and Marie wouldn't leave that easily, if not that I stabbed her with my hands I would have been sure that she's still alive" Beatrix stated.
"You and that sorry excuse of a leader will never get what you want" Dinah said earning her another slap. The slap made her hazy but she still continued speaking
"You will never be able to get to her and even if you do she'll be powerful enough to destroy you"
The man seated who was obviously their boss stood from his chair and walked towards Dinah. He didn't hurt her or try to punish her instead he said
"I always get what I want Dinah. And if what I want is your precious goddaughter the trust me to get her."
"I will get what I want and no one will stop neither will you" he said in totality.
"Don't kill her yet" he whispered to the man.
He left the room and Dinah was knocked out and eventually taken to a cell.
Five days have passed and today is the day that our Uncle had planned to take us out. Olivia obviously rejected the idea so she couldn't tag along. The place we were visiting was a three hour long drive from the castle so it was a res long journey.
Soon we got to the Swyve Mountains, a very beautiful natural phenomena that my uncle had booked for us for a few days. While growing up my nanny usually told me stories about these mountains and the magical embodiment of it. I never believed it but now looking at the surreal place and the indescribable feeling in the air ,I really felt like this place had something magical to give.
We alighted from our vehicle and took our bags in. Uncle Jude had instructed us earlier to rest before we went for any sight seeing.
For the next few days we had a blast and a lot of fun. There were so many sights to see and so many activities. I was constantly in awe of the beauty of this place. Onyx, Jemma and I grew even closer than ever, the lost bond that we had was restored.
On our last day on the Swyve mountains, Uncle Jude insisted that we shouldn't go on any outing, he said that he had something to say. He started when we were all settled
"I know that you kids must be wondering why I asked everyone to remain indoors today. It's because I have something to say. There's something the two of you need to know.
It is about your origin and your birth mother, Marie....."
